Fabulous,

“ Joan was only too willing to assist us with any request during our stay. Our room was very comfortable, like a small unit and on the 3rd floor, very private and quiet. Only problem could be carrying your cases up the stairs to your room. If that could be an issue ask for a lower room. Nice to have lots of space to move in room. Plenty of room for off street car parking and free! Very tasty breakfast each morning with plenty of variety. Stay here. ”

Friendly & ever helpful host (Joan & her family), great breakfast and very clean rooms! You really need to have your own transportation as it is about 10-15 minutes' drive into Killarney

The room with a great view was spacious, the beds and shower excellent. Breakfast was extensive. The owner was very helpful and very willing to advise. Although we did not arrive early, the room was not ready for us. The children in the house received a lot of attention. Until late, a child was screaming in a private part of the house.

Very friendly host, we had everything we needed, comfortable beds, great to be able to have the four of us in a room together with ensuite. Felt very welcome with tea and coffee and biscuits (including gluten-free!) on arrival and lovely breakfast next morning.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay here as a base for traveling around the Ring of Kerry, Dingle, and Killarney National Park. From the moment we arrived, Joan was more than willing to help with anything we needed, including giving us a ride into town so we could both drink a few pints. The full Irish breakfast was great, and the room had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again! At times it was a little noisy with other guests coming in/out or upstairs, but it did not take away from our stay. It was also a little farther from Killarney than we originally thought, but it is still a short 5 minute drive.

We were very pleased with the room we were allocated although it was on the first floor and a ground floor room would have been preferred. However we had not specified any special needs at the time of booking and must therefore except the responsibility for this. The hostess was most obliging and would have moved us to the ground floor room during our stay when it became vacant but we decided to stay where we were. There was also plenty of room for parking. The mini fridge in the room was most benificial and very welcome. Over all we consider we received good value for money.

The owner Joan is just fantastic. We stayed here as we were attending a family wedding and she was so friendly and helpful. She gave us excellent directions to the church and even offered to drive us to the Wedding Reception! She also gave us the number of a local taxi company. Breakfast was amazing, so tasty & lots of choice eg cereals & Yogurts. Our room was lovely with a nice en-suite & huge wardrobe. Very Clean and very friendly, Joan went above and beyond to make sure that we were looked after. The house is a little bit off the main road in Fossa, which makes it difficult to find. But if you call Joan she will give you excellent directions!

Hospitality was excellent. When my Car wouldn’t start that evening Joan took us to a local pub of our choice no problem and she excelled in organising a local mechanic to collect and repair my Car the following morning at 09:00 so my holiday was not affected. (My car was returned within the hour)

Owner was so kind and helpful, telling us where to park free in town. Loved the location for the DIngle loop and the Ring of Kerry and close to Killarney. Wonderful place.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Douglasha House, it was like as if you stayed with your own family. Joan was very welcoming and helpful. The double room we booked was very spacious and had a view to the fields over the road. We got all he usual tea/coffee making facilities plus a mini-fridge which was great for milk and my ales. The bathroom was also large enough and when asked we got a hairdrier too. So you only have to ask Joan and she will help with everything she can. All in all we enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed another night at this place as the location was ideal when we did the Ring of Kerry by car. The only thing I have to mention here is that we booked the place including breakfast however it was continental only (which included some fried/poached/scrambled eggs, toasts, marmalade, cereals, youghurt and fruits - so almost everything except ham and cheese) and full irish breakfast would have been a 5 euro extra per person and this was not stated at the time of booking.

The owner was delightful. Nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. A very kind and hardworking person. The room and bathroom were very clean and the tea making facitlies convenient. Made us a lovely cup of tea with biscuits on arrival. Organised a map for us and pointed out places to visit. The location was excellent for us as we had a hire car. Town is a short drive away or a spirited walk. We will definitely stay there again.
