The location is good - a few minutes drive from the town centre and easy to find. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Overall, good value.
The decor and furnishings are a bit tired and dated and the food (dinner and breakfast) was average.
Friendly welcome. Excellent food (especially steak!) Very Clean hotel. Helpful staff. Very good value.
Hotel facilities good and staff friendly.
Food - very basic out of a microwave.
The place is like an old peoples home staff where not very helpfull had to complain twice on how cold the room was to get them to turn heating on (at reception).that particular weekend it didnt stop raining and was very cold this hotel is way to expensive for what it offers best going to a local bnb
QUIET ROOM...NO NOISE FROM OUTSIDE.
LONG WALK FROM THE LIFT TO THE ROOM.....BREAKFAST NOT INCLUDED.....
Couldnt get wifi
Perfect in every way
Room was clean Night porter was friendly and welcoming Good for cheap accommodation
Reception staff rude and abrupt, the owner handled checkout. Not welcoming, in fact we were clearly an inconvenience for her Don't expect friendly or luxurious
The only plus with this place was the free Wifi.
The room was very old fashioned and in need of a paint job. The breakfast was very expensive for what was on offer. Will not be going back here.
Breakfast tasted pretty good
Owner made us pay on arrival Room was rotten with cobwebs No quits on bed!! Still on the sheet era Breakfast was not served with a smile Breakfast stops at 10 am most places I ve ever stayed it's 11 am
The staff were friendly and it was in a nice location. Very cheap nights stay.
The bed cover had holes in it and there was dust behind everything...Seeing as I am very allergic to dust this affected my sleep. The walls were paper thin as well.
it was good value
It needs some updating, new carpets new lino in the ensuite and more pillows. The covers on the beds need replacing some were stained and old!
It was ok.
You could only get wifi if you sat in lobby 20 feet from reception desk. I booked 2 nights and on returning to my room on the second , I had to go to reception to have my key reactivated. Waiting time for breakfast to be served was to long.Walls of rooms paper thin,I was kept awake by the people in the next room snoring.
Good location.Quiet but near to town centre.
A bit run-down and needs some re-furbishment.
Stayed for three nights in august. Very pleasant stay. Staff very helpful. Comfortable clean rooms.
Food was good
No wifi in rooms , TV was tiny .
Food very good nice and quite staff friendly
Breakfast and the staff were excellent.
This is a very dull and uninviting place to stay. All areas need decorating and modernising and more facilities for its customers.
The friendless of the staff
The food was not very good in the evening
leaving murphys local restaurant and pub
the hotel looks dated and the place has little atmosphere the rooms are ok the noise of water filling in kept us awake
Food was lovely
Lack of entertainment. After all it was holiday season and maybe some music would stop the other residents from going elsewhere
At checkin I asked if it was possible to get rooms with minimal steps. The staff were more than willing to try and accomodate our request. They managed to get 2 of the 3 rooms to meet our requirements which was great. Excellent friendly service.
would be nice for breakfast to be included in room rate. Climbing into the bath to take a shower! Not good with kids nor older people. However, was GREAT a slip mat was provided.
The room was clean and comfortable. The music stopped at midnight
The breakfast. The juice was watery a spot of mould on the bread and the sausage tasted past its best
Handy and cheap spot. Suited us for a wedding we were attending and we couldn't afford the Ice House. Friendly staff when we arrived. Clean room.
I tried to book breakfast online, but there was no option. I tried to book breakfast when I got to the hotel. I was told to come down in the morning, no time specified. We arrived down at 10.30. We were told by the unfriendly manager that breakfast had finished at 10. She went on to point at the clock to show me the current time. I found this particularly patronising as I am able to tell the time. Signs around the hotel encouraged guests to come for breakfast before 9.15, but there was no sign around reception to say when breakfast finished. I think it is crazy to finish breakfast so early at the weekend. It is as if serving guests breakfast gets in the way of the running of the hotel. Anyway we found an amazing spot to eat at The Post House nearby.
