Stayed for three nights. Excellent staff. Lovely time.
Everything was very nice
There was nothing I could say I liked.
Far too far out of town.
The staff especially the night porter . We had spacious room with a lovely en suite It was lovely and quiet there
It was just that wee bit to far a walk into town.. It was a pity the restaurant was closed for season as i heard the food was good.
No choice of breakfast.
Not far from the city and main road, lady at the reception was very nice on arrival.
3 single sprung matress beads, 2 join together not comfortable to sleep middle part very hard. Old style tv, remote control not working, to change a Chanel needs to get out from the bead every time, no internet in the room available only in the main public area beside reception, blankets only, no duvets available in the room, not nice smell in the lobby. Our family paid €72 for 3 people, good price do. Our friends got a same size room at the same time, better TV, battery was heating in the evening our didint worked. Not happy, would not recommend to anyone at least no more option.
The hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment! Very dated, blankets on the beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom was rotten with flaking chip board and a tap that only trickled!
The country location, and old Inn layout.
Steps upstairs were tricky to handle.
The Staff were pleasant and helpful at the reception.
The rooms were dusty with Spiders. The walls were paper thin as you could hear people snoring from the next room and it was very cold. The breakfast was OK but the fry and toast was cold.
The location was just right, ten minute walk into ballina center, close to the river, five minutes, friendly staff, good food,
Very good rooms and accommodating staff as we worked night shifts . Nothing was to much trouble. It's hard to sleep during the day but really comfortable beds made it easy to do so
Would have liked wi do in rooms just to do some homework. But got to sleep earlier
We had a great week at this hotel the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive could do enough for you The food was excellent we had a great time the hotel was central and a good base for traveling around Co Mayo.
I don't think there was much wrong although I think the TV in the room could be bigger my sights not that great and the option of sweeteners in place of just sugar would be useful for Diebetics
Friendly helpful staff & rooms good size, very clean
The location of the Downhill Inn is ideal for exploring the lovely town of Ballina. Check in was fuss free and our room was clean and spacious with a great big comfy bed. At €47 for the night, I couldn't fault it! Cheap and cheerful and I would have no hesitation staying there again!
The location is good - a few minutes drive from the town centre and easy to find. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Overall, good value.
The decor and furnishings are a bit tired and dated and the food (dinner and breakfast) was average.
Friendly welcome. Excellent food (especially steak!) Very Clean hotel. Helpful staff. Very good value.
Good communications with staff, Nice welcome from reception, fast service for an excellent breakfast.Good sized and clean bedroom and bathroom. Would stay again. Thank you.
Not the fault of the hotel but was awoken at 4am by a late customer coming back from a wedding from some other hotel asking to be let in to a room some where along the corridor. No wifi in bedroom.
Hotel facilities good and staff friendly.
Food - very basic out of a microwave.
The place is like an old peoples home staff where not very helpfull had to complain twice on how cold the room was to get them to turn heating on (at reception).that particular weekend it didnt stop raining and was very cold this hotel is way to expensive for what it offers best going to a local bnb
QUIET ROOM...NO NOISE FROM OUTSIDE.
LONG WALK FROM THE LIFT TO THE ROOM.....BREAKFAST NOT INCLUDED.....
The only thing that was good about my stay was that there was wifi available in the room.
When I entered the hotel I found it very plain and simple and not a three star quality hotel. When we entered the room the carpets were dirthy and so was the batroom. As the bathroom was main facility of my stay it was not very pleasing. I also found stains on the bed covers and had to ask to get them changed. While we were down stairs waiting on a taxi one night to go to the town a member of staff(looked like owner) passed us and never even said hello or asked us was our stay ok. This was highly rude. Over all my stay was not of a three star quality and I feel I did not get my moneys worth. I would not recommend the downhill inn hotel to anyone either.
Couldnt get wifi
Perfect in every way
Room was clean Night porter was friendly and welcoming Good for cheap accommodation
Reception staff rude and abrupt, the owner handled checkout. Not welcoming, in fact we were clearly an inconvenience for her Don't expect friendly or luxurious
The only plus with this place was the free Wifi.
The room was very old fashioned and in need of a paint job. The breakfast was very expensive for what was on offer. Will not be going back here.
Breakfast tasted pretty good
Owner made us pay on arrival Room was rotten with cobwebs No quits on bed!! Still on the sheet era Breakfast was not served with a smile Breakfast stops at 10 am most places I ve ever stayed it's 11 am
