Good food, excellent staff, comfortable bed
Further away from the airport than I thought
The room and bed big and spacious
Staff were great. Location to bus stop, and retail mall, good.
Small service items not included, such as face cloths and Kleenex tissues. Should consider having two chairs in the room for two people. As it is now, one can sit in a comfortable chair to read, while the other person has the bed to sit on. The other chair in the room is an office type chair and should be replaced with another type.
Very helpful at reception - especially Kristel. Restaurant had good food and quiet atmosphere..
Got fee for stay waivered after I complai that I'd to sleep with a pillow over my head & ear plugs! Food on offer not great. Everything else about the room was perfect.
Traffic noise. Fact that you had to get out of the car to swipe keycard to get into secure parking area. Felt vulnerable.
I needed a clean room at the last minute so that I wouldn't spend the night in Dublin airport. This place was exactly what I needed - the staff were excellent and very helpful. It was great to have a reasonably priced shuttle back to the airport as well.
The only drawback is that the room was labeled as non smoking, but definitely smelled like it had been smoked in at one time.
Staff on reception when I arrived very late
No late transfer
Good location close to the airport. Restaurant on-site serves late dinner
Room smelled like cigarette smoke. The night desk person acted annoyed but did eventually change our room
My friend and I could not say that we dislike anything in this Hotel.
Location as it's close enough to Airport and staff appear friendly
Paid nearly 90 euro for a double room only to find the double bed were two single beds pushed together, stayed in hotel In Killarney not so long ago for half the price and the Metro is miles behind it, cheap looking carpet, cards given for doors and parking constantly didn't work, operating the shower was like trying to Craic open a safe in mission impossible, water went from cold to piping hot, all of this not good enough for the money paid
We thought it would be more up to date and modern. We were there on a Saturday night and went down to supper. It was 7:30 pm. A sign said there would be no service from 8-8:45 due to a party of 25. When we arrived we were told we would have to wait for an hour. The hotel manager on duty then gave us menus for restaurants who deliver. When we booked we explained we were celebrating our 30th anniversary so this was disappointing. The mattress in the bedroom was also 2 mattresses pushed together :(
Location, shuttle bus to airport great, wifi very good
Service was very slow in dining room.
Nice place, good staff very kind!!! All was good!!!
It was comfortable, staff very helpful, parking outside hotel excellent
There was a bed, which was comfortable.
Shuttle bus was not available when I arrived; was told it was broken and I had to get a taxi and pay for this myself. Taxi driver VERY unhappy about this and swore constantly throughout the journey saying they do this all the time. Room was on the front of the hotel and curtains did not close fully; so FULL light in room all night and VERY noisy. Had to sleep with pillow over my head. Shuttle bus to get back to airport in the morning was later than I was told, so stood waiting for this for about 15 minutes. TV poor quality and poor reception. Not given free wifi code, had to request this later.
Close to airport, clean comfortable room. Quick service and helpful directions to airport.
The below ground parking was kind of a challenge but did ensure safety. The whole look of the place was kind of grim - a lot of grey, appears rather institutional.
Pleasant lady in reception.
Curt lady in the dining room who initially informed that there was no continental breakfast til I pursued my questioning. Heating not working. Fan in toilet/shower on most of the night. Not very clean and a total rip off @ E87 and E5 for the shuttle.
The front desk was friendly, location was great if you have to catch a morning flight plus hotel provides airport shuttle
I heard multiple alarms go off on the floor throughout my one night stay including in the middle of the night. TV in the room flat out did not work. The floors just had an eerie feel to it. Hotel restaurant was nice but food was sub-par.
Being upgraded to a suite was a lovely surprise!
it was clean and had a bar and restaurant, and the steak was very good.
location was a good distance from the airport and the hotel charged €5 each for the shuttle bus to the airport. My meal of chicken supreme was revolting slop.
the proximity to the airport and the shuttle service. Also, the rooms were fine in terms of size and cleanliness.
the hotel is on a noisy road and the beds were terrible. There were two single beds pushed together to appear to make a queen sized bed, and the springs were not padded enough.
Downstairs facilities good for overnight stay
Charge for Shuttle and lack of info at Airport upon arrival re Shuttle facilities to Hotel. Ended up getting a taxi as no one at Airport had even heard of Metro Hotel. Even the Taxi Driver had to ask a collegue where your hotel was.
noise from road
The majority of the staff were pleasant and professional. The hotel was reasonably quiet. Breakfast cost about nine euros and had offered ample hot and cold selections. There was easy access to a bus line that ran to the city center. There was also a convenient shuttle to the airport.
My primary complaint was the card key access to my room. It failed four times during my five day stay. This translated into a trip to my room on the fourth floor; then a trip back to the lobby, and then back up to the room. The staff said I could call and they would send someone up, but I didn't wish to wait. I kept the key isolated from other items, per the staff's recommendation but that didn't make a difference. There was a sign next to each of the numerous fire doors, indicating its function and stating that it was to be kept closed at all times. The cleaning crew kept opening these doors and leaving them open. The neighborhood wasn't the best. I had a good view of a large, empty lot across the street, filled with trash and items like an abandoned recliner.
When we called to tell them that our room smelled smokey, they immediately changed our room and upgraded us to a suite!
Although non smoking, our first room was definitely smoked in and in the morning there was evidence that someone had smoked in the hallway outside my brother in laws room.
