the warm welcome my sister and I received when we arrived, Our room was lovely and comfotable, and had a good night sleep. Staff very helpful, lovely grounds. breakfast every thing you want was excellent, Thanks for the lovely tea and hot scones when we arrived.

there is noting that I did not like.

The staff were just so attentive. Our flight from London was delayed on the evening booked but the person at the end of the phone said that the chef would remain on once he knew we were running late.In the event we arrived before the chef's cut off time! Still nice to know... The peace and quiet, a great restorative after the hustle and bustle of London. The gardens. The option to have breakfast later in the morning till 12.00. The food was wonderful.

The lighting in the dining room was too dull, difficult to read menus.

We thought setting amazing but the food did not live up to expectation. How could a hotel of this standard server hard poached eggs!!! Menu choice disappointing

Loved the house and the rooms. Beautiful location, staff were very friendly.

Maybe our expectations were too high for the food but a bit disappointed. Starter were ok and for main course we had beef dish for 2 served on a platter with veg and salad, but the beef was not tender. Did not have a desert.

Nice large rooms and excellent breakfast. Ground were nice and all the better for having a pub in them. Dinner was pleasant enough and well served, although a rather long wait to take the order. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful, all the time.

Nothing much. If I wanted to be picky, it was a bit difficult to get a second drink before dinner as no-one was manning the bar. Also, the deep gravel on the approach to the hotel was fairly terrifying on a motorcycle.

    Relaxing friendly comfortable

I thought the restaurant at €65 a head was over priced even though the food was very good it was still expensive considering Kevin wasn't present , which was disappointing . I would also like to sign for items purchased in the hotel when asked for my room number this way I can see exactly what I bought . Next time I go I will pay for my food each time

Lovely place - great views - very comfortable - staff excellent - food lovely -

The food is lovely but very much over priced. The accommodation is vastly overpriced and the breakfast again is lovely but very expensive. The choice of mid priced wines is very limited. Pricing needs to be more transparent

Lovely location. Very private. The decor and rooms were beautiful. The quality of food was very good but overpriced.

Continental breakfast which was not part of package was very expensive. Bar food over priced and choice of wines limited particularly at the middle price range. We are not of the the recession yet!

    The staff are excellent

Very overpriced for what it is. Prices are five star but rooms although lovely are really 3 star/4 star. Really in need of refurbishment or a reduction in room rates

The house was lovely and the food was very good, room was pleasant and nice and warm.

initial welcome was fine but could have been a bit more personal which was what we were expecting given the image they portrayed. staff welcome for rest of stay was excellent though. when booked room was quoted €20 for breakfast but was charged €25. didn't realise mistake till after we had checked out so didn't persue it but felt price was steep.

    Good food and service.

Building in need of a bit of a cash injection, a bit run down. Some young staff that are not too experienced eg in cocktail bar where you need staff that know what they are doing! A bit pricy for what you get.

Loved the food. Top class. The general ambience of the hotel was delightful. Would definitely return.

I have two issues, both related to booking and payment. On arrival, the accommodation I had booked online had not been correctly notified to the hotel, On departure, the invoice included charges for 6 evening meals instead of 4 (2 nights for 2 people). I explained we ate in the Restaurant 1st night and the Bar 2nd night. The invoice was rebilled and reprinted and although still incorrect, we paid and left - the Restaurant meals were still reinvoiced at weekend instead midweek prices but I hadn't the heart to further disp ute that error.

Staff were very friendly. We got an upgrade on arrival which was a nice surprise. Our garden room was spacious, clean and nicely furnished. We enjoyed a relaxing few hrs by an open fire reading papers followed by delecious chowder. Bar staff were very attentive. We had a Lovely early bird meal (my husband went for beef and loved it) followed by a few drinks in local pub listening to Roger ( very good, lovely voice and choice of songs). Breakfast was great with freshly baked scones and croissants. The house is decorated lovely.

My pet hate in restaurants is being served fish turned upside down with sauce on skin. (It seems to be a trend everywhere) I chose the salmon which was a little dry however the overall meal was delicious and we will certainly return.
