the peace and tranquility of the setting and the fact of my being allocated a room well away from other guests to enable me to work. they were very thoughtful and accommodating to my strange requests. the heating in my room, apparently, didnt work. i didnt raise it with staff however, because i didnt actually get around to it! |

This hotel needs upgrading. I'm aware that the hotel is a country house with 'old world' charm but that's no excuse for tackiness. The shades on the lamps in the bedroom were torn, no toilet roll holder in the bathroom ( it had fallen off and wasn't replaced) carpet up the 3 flights of stairs to our room tatty and worn and lifts up to room not working. |

The room was cold, one of two rads in the room did not work and even with a suplimentary electric heater the room was cold overnight. There was very poor directional signage in this hotel and it was a bit of a maze and difficult to orientate oneself. The catering staff at the event I attended were rushing and hasselling to clear the meal. Instance my bread and side plate was removed just after I started my soup and before I had an oppertunity to stop the waitress. |
