Average hotel claiming to be more than it is. They did move us from the worst room possible to a little bit nicer room in a quieter corner. Read reveiws and thought that this was going to be a wonderful, luxury, cozy place to stay. After taking 30 minutes to go 2km into Adare, we arrived at the DRArms. We were put in a streetside room overlooking the cute thatch roof cottages across the street, thought ok, this is neat. Then night time came. We tried to go to sleep around 9 after a long day of driving and touring, but found it impossible due to the fact that they put us right over the bar. In normal hotels this wouldn't have been a problem, but this room was old, ancient, probably an original. We could hear conversations and most annoyingly the opening and closing of the door to and from the kitchen. They did move us to a 'junior suite', which was quieter and a little bigger, but suite it was not. DRArms claims to be luxury, but it's an average hotel with a cute facade. Even the upgraded junior suite we were moved to was just so so. Also, bar has no room and service is a nightmare. Beds were pieces of wood with a pad over too, uncomfortable as heck!

Dunraven Arms was a beautiful 'oldie world e' hotel. The rooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Their attention to their guests is outstanding. The hotel is located in Adare Village which is a very comfortable 2 hour drive on excellent roads from Dublin South. One slight negative comment is with regard to 'hair drying' facilities for ladies within the guest rooms. I would highly recommend this hotel. One negative comment is with regard to the 'hair drying' facilities for ladies within the guest rooms. The use of the outdated electric wall mounted blow dryer is not what one would expect in a hotel of this category. This hair drying facility limits the lady guest as she struggles to groom her hair with this apparatus. I would suggest that a standard hand held hair dryer be supplied for ladies/guests. Also parking facilities are to the side/rear of the hotel. I think this should be noted so the guest does not drive past to the main entrance which is on the road front where there is usually no parking outside the main entrance.

The staff were very attentive and helpful. The rooms were excellent and breakfast was very good. A very well run hotel and very good value for money in a nice location. The swimming pool and gym is small and could be better.

Beautiful room, spotlessly clean and comfortable. There was a wedding on in the hotel, and one of the guests made a lot of noise trying to get into her room from 4 am onwards. It went one for quite some time. Was disappointed no hotel staff came to quieten her down.

It had more facilities than I had time to enjoy. The food was delicious. The atmosphere very relaxed and cheerful. There was a computer room with a printer, all in working order. I was travelling with my son, so I booked a twin room. But I found it had been made as a double room.

I think the rooms and the comfort is great, very spacious, lots of seating and very comfortable beds. It also has some lovely quaint general sitting rooms to chill out in and good Gym facilities. Have stayed a few times and they are very tardy at getting the breakfast ready on time of 07:00. I think for a business week 07:00 is as late as you would want it so it really should be ready on time if they are going to open that late.

I stayed in the hotel for a short break with my wife. It was a very plesent frendly old world hotel. I have stayed in very many hotels in Ireland and this has to rank with the best. The only adverse comment that I would make concerns the absence of disability adapted rooms. My wife is a wheel chair user. It appears that there is only one room with an adapted bathroom and it was occupied during our stay.

Breakfast was high quality and very fresh produce. Suite was very small and nothing more than a double room with a four poster bed.Which we found very deceitful and therefore very expensive.

It was a small Hotel. The carpark was great, the breakfast was good. I found room cold when I arrived. I was very disappointed it the fact there was no Tea/coffee and Kettle in the room. I taught for a four star hotel this let hotel down. I have stayed in other four star hotel's in Ireland and this was always the norm.

“The customer service from the decated staff. The food was excellent at night and the breakfest was first class. Shirley is well worth her salery, give her a raise !!! The bed didn't feel as though we were the 1000 couple to sleep in it. The over all cleanliness was great. The Polish receptionest was almost 'Irish' in her welcome and warmth. We will stay again , please God.” John, Westport |
