Occupying a convenient position in the very heart of the lively center of Dublin, this 2-star family-run hotel provides the perfect base from which to explore all that the city has to offer.
Score from 406 reviews Very good
The bed, the staff, the location is not central but is safe and with easy pubs/restaurant, and lots of buses ith 10 minutes to the city center
My room was cold (later i received another warmer), the bathroom is absolutely cold, and the shower is not for tall people (i have 2 meters). Taking a shower wasn´t easy.
The room was clean and comfortable with good facilities.
Slightly unpleasant smell in the entry corridor but not in the room.
+ it was fair deal for the money spent
- slow internet connection - rooms very small; but it is probably considered as a cheap alternative; next time I will check a room size in M2 anyway - pretty often there was a noise heard from a washing machine
Nice staff, clean rooms in residential area. Close to shops and some restaurants
Maybe it was bad luck, but right outside our window, on the roof, was the water heater situated. Which made a humming noise every now and then. It didn't keep us awake, but it's not pleasant. Also, ironically, we did not really have hot water ourselves in the shower.
A lovely guesthouse in a good location. Very quiet so a good nights sleep guaranteed. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good.
Great staff, good breakfast, free stable wifi, and computer use. Far enough away from downtown to relax, close enough to walk to the nightlife(25-40mins)
The location is perfect if you want to explore Dublin city center. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Rooms were clean, tidy and just what we needed. Would definitely add this to my list of places to stay when we next visit Dublin again.
Small chance to have a shower-water boiler to not enough capacity
The staff was really friendly and rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is perfect because is not far by the city center and you can reach the main important places by walk in only 20-25 minutes.
The breakfast not was really good.
The staff were very friendly.
Was good for what I wanted
Near the City center quite no fuss
Friendly and helpful staff, room clean and comfortable, walkable distance from the city centre, and located on a lovely residential street.
Think breakfast should have been included in the price we paid
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable
Nice decor n big lobby area. Quiet neighborhood
A fine guest house, good quality for the price in a Northside area which was good for where I was working. Wifi worked fine, but a bit slow if you're relying on it to watch Brit TV while you're over here.
As it happens there was interesting stuff on BBC while I was here, and they only had Freeview at Egans. If you've never watched just Irish TV (when there's sport on RTE 2 all night & Irish music on two of the other channels) and you're crying out to watch The Apprentice, you've not lived. The wifi was fine, and I did manage to watch one show, and even caught up on Doctor Who (which they've never heard of here, by the way), but you can't rely on it. As it happens I was here in Dublin on Nov 5th and thought. what with the TV being so poor, I'd go out and catch bonfire night fireworks somewhere. Yes. I know now.
The staff is really kind and always helpful Good and quite location, halfway between the airport and the city centre. Ironing kit in your room You feel like at home!
The room was a bit too small Very small sink
Very friendly staff, comfortable room,
Poor choice of breakfast
The cute guy who worked at Egan's House (:
The wifi wasn't the greatest
Of course it's not 5-star hotel, but for what you're paying this place is excellent. Clean & comfortable, what more can you ask for?
Staff was helpful and accommodating. Everything I needed was offered to me without any hesitation. Thank you. Will be coming back.
Very welcoming Hosts, spacious warm rooms, Food & facilities were superb. free tea/coffee/wifi..Toys for kids in lounge area...Buffet breakfast was simply delicious..Would recommend Egan's as a "home away from home" in an ideal location, with easy access to the CityCentre. We will be back!
nice spacious, clean rooms.. good shower, good feel to the house in general & friendly, helpful staff
wifi not great
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, very knowledgeable about the are, transport, shopping centres. The breakfast was amazing, the kids loved it, there was something for everyone and more than enough. We had the family room at the top of the house, slept two adults & three teenage girls, plenty of room, the ensuite was well presented. made our break very enjoyable, definately stay again and recommend
With being at the top of the house the wifi was a bit hit and miss, but did make the girls get ready to go out quicker, and we all had to talk to each other more, which was fab
