Location Noise - we were directly above the nightclub and the staff refused to move us until the next morning. When we were moved the next day there was a party in one of the rooms which went on until 4.30am and the staff did not try to stop it. Cleanliness - the room was dirty, smelly (from cigarette smoke), noisy and had burn marks all over the carpet. Galway is beautiful but when we go back we won't be staying here.

The location was very central I was extremly disappointed with the overall experience, the rooms where dingy and musty, the bathroom had damp and the level of noise was way beyond Resonate as described in hotel confirmation form. Bed matress very uncomfortable - could feel springs, very disappointing would not recommend.

Not much really - we were looking for a central hotel to get a good night sleep before a half marathon the next day. Nothing that was said on the website, reviews, etc prepared me for just how bad this hotel was. Noise was ridiculous - nightclub downstairs and bars across the streets had lots of drunkards (vomit, fighting... the works). To make it worse, after the nightclubs closed, an alarm went off at the Centra across the street - and stayed on for 2 hours. Once the alarm was turned off, the street cleaners started up. In short - we got no sleep. Other than the noise, the hotel itself is a bit shabby -the rooms need an upgrade (like triple paned windows to start) - particularly if they are expecting people to pay €100 per night for two people.

central location. i am a smoker so i was happy with being able to smoke in my room. however, my friends staying in another room were not smokers and they were a bit put out that they could smell smoke in their bedroom from the people staying before them. i think there should be designated smoking rooms and designated non- smoking rooms because the smell of smoke can be annoying or off- putting for others.

Rooms need revamp. The breakfast was small to say the least, and during our stay other guests had also commented..Ie 1 sausage, 1 piece of bacon, 1/2 white pudding, 1/2 black pudding. We thought it to be more of a childs portion than an adults.

Food and bar. Staff and facilities were fine, but potential clients should specifically request a room not facing the front onto Forster Street. There is a late night-club below and a loud music bar opposite, while the very loud street-cleaning lorries trundle past at around 6.00 A.M.!

Staff were lovely, and very helpful with showing me how to get round with a map. Had a beautiful spacious room. Good breakfast in the morning. Would have liked more fruit as option for breakfast...only option was grapefruit.

I had booked as a midway break on my business trip to Sligo from Cork. I requested a quiet room as I had an early start. I repeated this to reception when I arrived. However, the attached night-club boomed away until approx 2.30am. This was a Wednesday night so not to be expected. I complined to the night staff. He could barely hear me and he was in Reception!Totally exhausted,I repeated my claim the next morning, but as I had to leave before the manager came on duty,I left my contact number so that I could be contatced to discuss my annoyance.I didnt receive a call back until my wife went to check out.Long conversation with the manager ensued after which I received a partial refund (to his credit).Good Location but dont stay if you are a business traveller.

The staff were very friendly and obliging. The room was nice and warm. The room was very noisy until after 2.00 a.m. I do not mean music from the downstairs bar area. It was more like machinery noise, like from big cooling fans or something similar. The television was very small and dated. Also the toilet was very near the wall. If you were a large person you would not fit in and be able to sit on the toilet seat.

The hotel is in a ideal location to walk to the shops etc... At night the noise from other guests did disturb our sleep. It is not a value for money hotel. We are not penny pinchers but the website led us to believe our room would be bigger in size & modern, it was neither. The breakfast included was a lot to be desired. Taking in to account there is a recession but getting a full Irish breakfast with the black & white pudding cut in half & I mean receiving only half of each is extremely mean in this day & age. I could go on but I think I have said enough. We travel a lot for weekend breaks & we will not be returning to The Eyre Square Hotel. K.B & O.B
