It was the worst hotel ve stayed at for years. i asked on 4 occassions for am iron/iron board and after all that they delivered an iron. no board. there is no food served in the hotel, so you have to go to the golf club for evening meal. there were only 2 main courses available. chicken pie and fish + chips. they had no veg. my chicken had to go back due it still being frozen in the middle, it had to go back into the microwave. you have approx a 300yd walk back to the hotel through the golf course. all the lights were vandallised. i couldnt see a thing. on a few occassions a walked on the grass by accident.( it was extremly dangerous )there were only 5 cars in the car-park. what does that tell you about the place. they took money off my bill for the service and i also wasnt charged for my meal. i'll never be back. disaster.

easy to access as well as secluded, very friendly, very clean, staff very helpful, easy parking, good sized room and en suite, excellent communications before we arrived - even e-mailed some website links for the activities we were going to do when we arrived. no fridge in the room, the pool water was too cold for me (no Jacuzzi as well), some of the facilities had to be accessed at the clubhouse (bar and restaurant)

It was a fair price for the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the framed wall pictures! Pool was clean. Room was warm and clean. Shower was powerful. lack of room service or availablity of soft drinks/snacks in hotel. Had to walk down to club house in the dark for a soft drink which was not ideal. More lighting required or even better a drinks/snack machine in hotel lobby would be perfect!

The location, it was nice and peaceful with a sense of being away from it all. The hotel receptionist who checked us in had very bad english. We did not have the channells on the tv in our room that it stated, when we complained we were offered no help, we had to tune in the tv ourselves. The hotel stated there was wi-fi all over , yet we had none in our room and when we complained we were told the wi-fi did not reach that part of the hotel. When I said it stated the wi-fi was all over the hotel, she just smiled and said no. There was a huge damp sopt on the ceiling in our room, with obvious dampness and cracks.

Quiet location, good amenities for the price. Rooms are very large by today's hotel standards. Plenty of bedding and towels. You get what you pay for: this hotel has very good resources for its location, is very quiet, and is well away from the screaming toddlers and roaring hooray henrys you will find currently in most Cork hotels. Its excellent value for money compared to the poorly-run, rip-off hotels typical in the city these days and despite a few flaws, is a very good place to stay. If you are staying - ask for an upstairs room - they are less worn and less likely to be affected by noise if a noisy crowd are in the hotel. Room had a lot of noise from overhead room (although I think this was the fault of exceptionally noisy visitors rather than design - this hotel is otherwise extremely quiet). There is nothing like banging headboards to enhance your nights sleep. Breakfast is good but it would be nice if items left out were kept cool as the milk was almost always starting to go sour (something very simple that could be easily fixed). Room showed much more wear and tear than others I have had in the same hotel - the shower head was basically falling apart from the hose, which kept swinging around midshower and saturating the entire bathroom. The toilet didn't flush properly and despite very courteous reception response, it wasn't fixed after 2 days. Carpet was filthy - badly needed a shampoo. This isn't typical of this hotel as I have stayed here previously and had much nicer rooms.

Pleasant rural location. Large clean rooms with good facilities. Golf course and small gym on site. Bar opening hours and food service very limited: not a huge problem as there are numerous options nearly. Swimming pool is closed which might disappoint some.
