Area information

Adares Main Street (2 km) - The main street has many thatch cottages dating back to around 1828. The Earl of Dunraven had these homes built for his servants. Today, the occupants of these homes range from craft shops to restaurants.

Adare Castle (3 km) - The remains of this Anglo-Norman fortress may be counted among the most impressive castles in Ireland. The castle was built in the 1190s and was initially comprised of a large square tower and an enclosing D-shaped fosse.

Adare Heritage Centre (3 km) - This centre tells the story of the development of Adare from the 13th century. Colourful murals depict life in the town and monasteries, while a detailed model and audio visual presentation recalls some of the drama of life in the 15th and 16th centuries.

- Take the N21 from Limerick.
- After 12 miles, turn left at the crossroads.
- Follow the signs for Woodlands.
- The hotel is located about half a mile on the right.
