the location for our requirments was good. the food was of a good quality dissapointing as the decor was worn and general facilities were gruby, expecially considering a hotel of 4 star our expectations were that it would have been more glamerous, also this is not a complaint just merely an observation, my partner asked to have an iron to the room, it never arrived, also there was a rather large tear in the bedspread which my partner caught his foot in and tripped, lucky he caught his balance but it could have been that had he not he could have had a nasty fall. did we mention this to the hotel staff no because as we were only there for one night due to a business meeting in the area we decided not to.

I travel on business to this area on a regular basis and have tried a number of the hotels in the surrounding area, Radisson Blu, Bewleys, Stilorgan Park, The Royal Marine but I've found none of them to be as welcoming and as comfortable as the Fitzpatrick, the staff are fantastic and the place has some character about it. It's a home away from home for me

A lovely hotel that's good for a family holiday. Nicely located for walks and coffee shops and city centre isn't too far away either. Rooms are huge and very comfortable.

Very Charming Hotel, but a bit old fashioned We got the Room 502. The shower has absolutely no pressure. You almost can't was you body and impossible for women wash a long hair. The hotel is in a middle of a residential area (it is beautifull) but you need to have a car to move yourself

This is a fine hotel. Room was well apportioned and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good also. Location is perfect. We were on a family break and in my opinion it is not really a family orientated hotel. The swimming pool is only accessible for children at certain times and this was not mentioned at check in. There were no immediately available playground faciltities/playroom/activities for children.

I liked the dining options in the hotel. It's suited to business travellers. The room was very spacious with a spacious bathroom. The large car park is another bonus. The room was slightly dated. It has a well worn feel to it. No sockets next to the bed for phone charger. You could feel the cut backs that are evident in alot of hotels in this climate. Lightbulbs missing/waiting staff running in all directions etc. It needs slight modernisation to live up to its excellent reputation.

Room allocated was smelling so much smoke that I asked for a change. I got a disabled room (300) and low height of equipment was not very convenient (I am 1.70m tall). I did not have time to take any breakfast, they charged the 3.

I really liked the rooms, the bed and balcony were great. The breakfast for 12 Euros was also well worth it. It was a lovely place. The only problem I had whilst staying in the hotel was the walk down the hill to the main street. However, this was only a very small problem.

Loved the location, friendliness and willingness to help of hotel staff on a whole. Not impressed with being forgotten about at Dungeon Bar and Grill. It took the forth request to four different people to have our order taken (over the period of an hour).

Almost everything. No complaints other than the lack of a lounge; there is just a bar with tables and chairs. It would have been nice to have the opportunity relax in a more comfortable seating area with sofas and armchairs.

The closest castle option I could find near Dublin. It did not give me the feel of staying in a Castle. Nothing different than staying in big hotel. Standard deco nothing really luxurious.

The restaurant in the dungeon was fabulous.wifi very frustrating as you could only have one device. So when traveling with kindle, iPhone for work emails and iPad for general it was frustrating that you could only log one device. Crap really and the same wifi was at the Holyrood apartment in Edinburgh used the same wifi provider

The location gives you a "countryside" living idea although it is very close to the city. Have to wear (and buy on location) swimming caps in their swimming pool.
