The Gabriel is surrounded by landscaped grounds and the countryside beyond, providing most rooms with stunning views. They all have TVs and free parking is available on site. Gabriel House felt like home away from home. Kathleen and Valerie were so accommodating and felt like friends by the time we left. The rooms were very comfortable with a charming environment with garden and patio in the back. Valerie even took our son out to feed the chickens that lay the eggs we had for breakfast! I highly recommend this lovely guest house. I truly felt like a welcomed guest! We initially chose it based on a very reasonable rate and the reviews we read. Now, we'd go back because of the wonderful experience there. True Irish hospitality! Thanks Kathleen and Valerie!!!

A nice and cosy B&B, with helpful and friendly personnel. Good breakfast. Located in a 15 minutes walk from the city centre, but close to some nice pubs like CornerHouse and Sin E. We had a beautiful view from our large en suite bedroom. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits 24h in the tearoom on the groundfloor. Can't remember anything.

Nice and clean room, especially the bathroom was new and clean. Breakfast ok, but served only till 10.30 (even on Sunday!) The guset house is located on a hill so it's not very comfortable to get there, also the car park is quite steep. The area around the guest house is a bit scary especially during the night time, on my way back to guest house I was a bit afraid.

A great place to stay, honest and without frills or trying to be something it isn't. Very pleasant staff indeed. Excellent location close to city centre, and first class breakfast and unlimited team and home-made biscuits. Our first visit, but there will be more in the future, and we have recommended the hotel to others. And no, we aren't being paid to say this!

We stayed at Gabriel House for two nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, although there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Gabriel House is conveniently located within walking distance to Cork city centre. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of continental and traditional dishes (the eggs come from their own chickens). There is a spacious patio and garden area at the back with views towards the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

The staff were very helpful on arrival we were given information on restaurants and bars, we availed of free coffee and tea at anytime. Staff were relaxed about check out time, more of a hotel then guesthouse. Our room was under the breakfast room quiet noisy in the morning time.

That it was close to two very good restuarants. Issac's was the best we've eaten in so far. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Parking was excellent. The top floor was hard to get to with luggage because of the many steps. The bed was a little hard. Could benefit from a Temperpedic pad on top. The shower had a little mold but was otherwise clean.

The room was a great size with two beds, plus a great bathroom (shower was amazing). Really nice continental breakfast, or you could order off a menu (all included). Helpful staff. The hotel is located on a pretty good hill, so trucking my luggage (and myself) up there a couple times a day was a bit of a chore.

It was a lovely comfortable place to stay and in a great setting, near to the train station and near to the centre of the city and yet a few minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle. The girls working there were all extremely helpful and welcoming. The rooms were clean with very nice bathrooms and a particularly nice shower. The guesthouse is on a hill so you have a lovely view of the city. There was a water fountain and a drinks machine in the lobby which is very handy. I thought it was good value for money as it has the comfort of a hotel with a B & B feel in that it is very personal and friendly. The girl at reception (didn't get her name) was very helpful to us as I was running the Cork marathon and could come back after the race and collect my bags and change in our old unchanged room, I appreciate that very much!! The only thing I would fault is that the room walls are very thin and you can hear everything, I had come down to run a marathon and wanted a quiet night but didnt get it due to occupants noise next door, it wasnt that they were overly noisy but that walls were too thin. I dont think I would have minded too much if I hadnt been anxious to sleep because there wasnt a sound otherwise. My two other companions didnt sleep either because of noise next door, (snoring in one and hanky panky in the other!!) and we had to be up at six, nevertheless we had a great time, I had a great race so we enjoyed it and had a good laugh about it afterwards!!

If you're looking for somewhere that's not a traditional b&b and not hotel chain then this is your place. Clean friendly and everything you need without the nosey landlady !! Highly recommended and the eggs Gabriel are good too. The walk up the hill from the city centre could be tough for some, but at least it's exercise !!

The staff were very friendly. Receptionist was knowledgeable about the area. The room was cosy and we slept very well in the comfortable bed. Bathroom clean.Good range of buffet breakfast options and there were several cooked breakfast options, including full English/Irish, pancakes and porridge. Location is about a 5-10 minutes easy walk into the centre. The guest house was set back from the road and therefore was quiet. We would definitely stay here again. Parking on a hill. Not good for the less confident driver!

1St impression was good and building bigger than expected. Receptionist was very friendly and professional (Very attractive too so I could biased!). Felt very welcome and all the staff were professional and friendly and a credit to the owner. Room was great with everything you need for a short stay and has been been refurbished, flat screen tv and bathroom has very modern tiling and fittings. Asked for a quiet room as was very tired after long week and was attending a conference, slept very well as walls are well insulated and no traffic noise so was very happy for quiet room request had been exceeded. Would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again. Bettter than a lot of 3 star hotels Ive stayed in and I doubt it could be beated in Cork for value

The building was very pretty with a lovely view over cork city and nice gardens. The breakfast was delicious, especially the eggs from the guesthouse's own free-range hens. The guesthouse is advertised as dog-friendly, however although the receptionist who welcomed us was very friendly and accommodating, we found another member of staff to be particularly resentful of the fact that we had brought our two dogs along, even though we had specified this in our booking. Her attitude was extremely rude and made for an uncomfortable stay, we would hope all dog owners are not treated in the same manner.

My Wife & I stayed at Gabriel House last weekend and couldnt fault it - This is a gem of a find - We were so surprised at the standard of service provided, the quality of the rooms, value for money and above all else the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff - Kathleen , the lady serving breakfasts ( beautifully cooked and presented and what a choice! ) in fact everyone involved. We would certainly stay again at Gabriel and recommend this guest house as being the best you could wish for. Situated on a hill the location is good with a short walk into Cork A vist to the local hostelry - Henchys - can be quite dangerous however !! and result in a late night and a headache in the morning - well worth a visit to mix with the locals though - a real old pub with a nice ambience and some very interesting people. Ron & Janet Brown Everything perfect

I was very happy with my stay at Gabriel House. The location was great just a short walk to the city centre. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good too. The only fault I had was that there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room, also the drive in and parking area was on a very steep incline which I supposed can't be helped ,however the view made up for it. I enjoyed my stay there and would definately recommend it.
