Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was excellent. It was Shrove Tuesday when we stayed there and we were given home made pancakes for breakfast on top of the usual menu. The hilly location and the fact that there was no lift would make this hotel awkward for less mobile visitors. |

The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was lovely. The location was close to the city. The price was fair. On the internet it says it is a 4 star - it is definitely not a four star and I think this should be changed. I'd give it 3 at most. |

The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The free breakfast offered a lot of choice and the garden would be nice during warmer months. Although I like walking some people might find the hill climb to the hotel hard work. |

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room and bed were extremely small. No hairdryer or tea making facilities in room. Very little wardrobe space. We had only one towel for two people. |

Friendly relaxed staff, excellent breakfast cooked to order, spacious rooms. There was a noise in the room from some form of equipment that was annoying. Sounded like an airconditioning unit or pump of some sort. |

The staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful in providing information about anything in the area. A very homely experience. The room cleanliness was fair. This could have been due to us checking in early and not giving the guesthouse the chance to clean it properly. |

The staff at the hotel (Kathleen in particular) was very helpful, and went out of her way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. Nothing was too much trouble! The breakfasts were very good and served in a lovely dining room. Guests were given homemade chocolates and biscuits for Valentines Day, plus the ladies were given a rose - what a lovely touch! We were made to feel very welcome, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a bit basic and the furniture was dated. |

Gabriel house is very well located for a city break in Cork , its a nice warm house , a fantastic dining/breakfast experience , it's priced more towards the budget end of the market , so I wouldn't advise people to expect too much , just a basic comfortable stay with a good breakfast What I would say I did not like was the major lack of maintenance , mainly in the painting and decorating department |

The staff were very friendly. The bathroom looked to be newly refurbished and was lovely. The breakfast was really nice. the breakfast room had lovely views also- a nice start to the day. The bedroom walls were in need of a paint and the carpet looked worn. |

it was very quiet even though there were a lot of other guests, some being children, but soundproofing must have been very good! |

Hotel was OK. Nothing stands out in my mind as being particularly good or bad. I didn't really like the "guesthouse" feel. I prefer the anonymity and impersonal nature of a large hotel. I booked this place in a hurry on the strengths of the reviews here. For some reason I didn't realise it was a guesthouse... even though it says "guesthouse" in the name! |
