we got an excellent rate.staff were friendly and helpfull.hotel was in a good location and provided good tickets at discount prices to Glenveigh Park. bar food was disappointing.lifts to 3rd floor were a bit convoluted!there was very little room in the shower as the shower curtain was too far over the bath and the hand rail left the standing area very restricted.

Price very reasonable for b&b , rooms clean and hotel very centrally located. Gallaghers hotel contacted me 48 hrs prior to our arrival, they asked me to read and sign their non disturbance policy, it basically said if anyone was making noise or there was any damage to property the person who was the lead booking would be charged 50 euro person for compensation. I contacted the hotel & told them I didnt have a credit card available for this and they then wanted each person to leave 50 euro cash at the receptinon as a deposit and it would be refundable on departure. I wanted to cancel the booking at this stage as the group werent prepared to do this. I informed the manager that it was my mothers 60th birthday and there would be no hassel so she decided to not proceed with the non-disturbance policy, however when we checked in at the hotel we were asked to sign it again but declined and informed them that we had already spoke with the manager about this. At the time of booking the hotel there was no mention of any disturbance policy. I think that groups should be warned about this at booking rather than have it sprung on them at the last minute when they cant cancel. Other than this the hotel was fine and we had a great time.

My girlfriend and I stayed at gallaghers for the weekend and the staff were really welcoming. The main reason we choose gallaghers was the price was reasonable for the location in centre of town and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was really good . Free car parking was an added bonus. Staff were more than helpful with anything we needed. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend to anyone. Only negative I would have is lack of channels on tv and lack of fresh fruit at breakfast but other than that fantastic stay!!!

Very convenient location and well priced. Good size rooms. I was surprised at the state of the carpets in the corridors, poorly laid and let the hotel down. The bed linen was poorly fitted also and the throws were worn. Room could do with a desk chair - the armchairs were very low for laptop work.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and even though we were late enough in the dining room we were still served with courtesy. I am not in a position to answer any of the above options really as we travelled for a funeral and only stayed one night. I would have preferred if the shower was more user friendly, the handrails were not in the best position for those of us in our 60's, the other drawback was the fact that we were unable to open the window so when it got very warm during the night we were unable to cool things down.

Lovely residents bar I did not like the fact that the carpet on my floor was been removed when I arrived outside my room and I had to climb over it to get into my room. There were men working outside my room all afternoon.

The hotel is located right in the center of Letterkenny. The entrance to the carpark is up a hill behind the hotel. Check in took seconds, the receptionist had our card ready and waiting. The room was ok, nothing to fault or nothing to go wow at. Comfy bed. The TV remote didn't work but when I rang reception a woman came up straight away and changed it. We didn't have any food or drinks. Great value for the €34.50 we paid for the room. Standing space in the bath while having a shower is at a minimum because of the handrail coming out so far and the shower curtain sticking to you whilst showering. The area behind the bath taps could do with a scrub. There was a lot of noise from guests coming and going from their rooms. Maybe seals around the doors could be improved or introduced.

“I stayed in the Station House previously & I found it to be an excellent hotel. I have stayed in 4 star hotels and not received the service, cleanliness, or hospitality that I found in the Station House. This stay was no different. It is also very handy for the retail shopping areas. ” Tommy, Riverstown, Co Sligo |
