Really enjoyed being greeted at the door with hot Tea and scones after a long drive. We were set up in the front parlor by the warm fireplace and just relaxed and talked with the staff. What pleasure. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh and homemade Irish breakfast. Half portion was perfect. Bailey's in the porridge was great way to start the day! Road noise and noise from students at university across the street who stayed up late after returning from holiday break.

From the welcome to the departure, we were made very welcome. Lovely afternoon tea upon arrival, good size, clean rooms - not the most modern, but clean and well maintained - no negative notes to write. The breakfast in the morning was something to behold - just go there and try it! Wonderful, friendly people.

I thought the staff were exceptional. The whole atmosphere was caring and professional. We arrived very late and were pampered beyond belief. After a long flight it was wonderful to fall asleep in a comfortable bed in a warm room. The most professional and yet homey place I have stayed anywhere. I am looking forward to another visit to Cork and definitely a stay at Garnish House. Diane Stuart

When I was so disappointed with the hotel and the room, it was good that I didn't have to pay apenalry to reduce my multiple night booking to change it to a one night stay! Ths breakfast was good and the staff were also good. The original room we were given was cramped amd not appropriate for a family. One should not have to pack chairs into the cupboard to have sufficient room to put a suitcase on the floor!!

MARCEL (in capital letters)! :) He is the wonderfully handsome German man who will greet you with such genuine cheer, you'll feel instantly at home. Go for the food--go for the location--go for the fun, and for goodness sake, go for the afternoon tea spread! You'll have the best tea and scones and German pastries of your life! You cannot go wrong with this decision. The rooms are quaint and clean, all en-suite. There is free parking and Internet access. Downtown is within walking distance. The Garnish House is diagonally across from the UCC campus. We stayed here on our honeymoon three years ago, and again this past weekend. We were so thrilled to see Marcel's friendly face still there when we arrived! He certainly knows how to run a B&B--go check it out for yourselves! The bed was slightly too soft, but I'm kinda picky because of my back problems. Everything was absolutely perfect!

Garnish House has the warmest welcome in Ireland, the rooms are very comfortable and the afternoon tea/coffee (with cakes) is a reason in its own right for a return visit. You will not leave Garnish House hungry! the attention to your comfort is first class. A very worthy recommendation for anyone staying in Cork.

We got a fantastic room with extermly comfortable beds in the sister guest a few doors down from Garnish House. It was warm, spacious and had all the trimmings from a tea towel with the kettle and cups, a safe and was very clean. The shower was good quality and there was plenty of storage. Unfortunetly, we stayed out too late at night to get up for breakfast but having stayed there before, the breakfast was fantastic. I'd highly recommend the gueat house. Traffic tended to be a little noisy on the road in the morning if you're the type to sleep in like us. This was only a minor thing though as it was fine at night.

Family run guesthouse with a very warm welcome. Tea, cake and scones on arrival, even before check in. Beautiful warm rooms, tastefully decorated, comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities. Breakfasts to die for. Porridge and baileys: still a winner every time. An excellent guesthouse where people return time after time.

The breakfast was amazing!! It was an extra ten euro per person, however they catered for the healthy gym bunnies to the full Irish lovers amongst us. It was well worth paying the little extra.

The hospitality from arrival to departure was phenomenal. Many thanks to everyone at Garnish House. I stayed on w/end of 20th Jan in #3 and could not fault anything. Lovely staff ad amenities were a treat. I didn't have time for the tea & scones but hopefully I stay again and treat myself with them. Thanks again everyone,

I have only been treated this well in a Hilton in Thailand. They are so nice pleasant and attentive. The room we had was very quiet, easy location from town yet away from it enough to avoid late night noise. Great breakfast of course.

I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend and we were really impressed with how big and comfortable our room was. We found it really hard to get the willpower to get out of bed everyday to go explore Cork because we were so content in our room.

Our large group arrived at different times and each time the welcome was wonderful, with tea, coffee, home-made breads, delicious scones, Christmas cake, home-made jam and plenty of time to enjoy settling-in and to meet up with the other party members. Garnish House is so exceptionally good on every count that it would be difficult to convey just how special it is. However, I'll try to list some of the features: the genuine welcome that made us feel totally at home; the cosy sitting room with a fire and deep armchairs; the smell of the fresh hyacinths (in December); the very comfortable beds; the tea/coffee-making facilities in the bedrooms; the proximity to the city: shopping, the English Market; the proximity to the University; the breakfasts - so good we took photos , with a huge menu that catered to all tastes, including vegan, and all freshly-prepared; free parking; free wi-fi; the overwhelmingly friendly atmosphere and genuine care for guests... I even got a phone call at home to wish us a good journey. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the owner to tell her how great the experience was, but Marcel took really good care of us. Garnish House was very memorable indeed. We would have loved to have stayed longer, but we were on our way to a family wedding in Clonakilty. We'll be back.

We stayed in many hotels and B&Bs on our European vacation and this one was by far my girls favorite. They are college students and not easily impressed...The staff and food were excellent...We felt right at home there and will certainly be back our next time thru... There was a issue with our toilet and the water pressure in the shower but not really a big deal...

I chose Garnish house as it was very close to the Bon Secours hospital which was my only requirement for accommodation. All the reviews that I read were very impressive and this place came highly recommended and I was very happy with my choice. There was a lovely welcome from Marcel and due to lack of time I didn't get to sample the wonderful welcome scones and tea which looked amazing.Breakfast was fabulous and the staff were really friendly and courteous.I would highly recommend Garnish house to any body visiting Cork..

Breakfast is far higher standard than most B&Bs or hotels. Location excellent. Interior design of rooms in main building is very dated and could do with a serious overhaul. Bathroom was very basic.
