For visitors planning to stay here, it is important to know that this is a pub with guest rooms above the bar. You pick up and drop off your key with the bartender. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. I had to leave the hotel early each day, and the night staff would make coffee for me and give me bread and jam before well before breakfast was served for the guests.

Wi-Fi not available in the guest rooms, only in the public spaces (i.e. the bar.) The bar is quite popular, and in the evenings it was packed and loud, so it is not a good place to do work that requires internet access.

Location was great; staff was wonderful--very friendly and helpful. Loved being above a pub so we could relax and have a drink at the end of the evening.

the twin bed in the room sagged in the middle and so I didn't sleep as well as I normally would. The bed could use a new mattress or better support.

Great location and super friendly staff.

Overpriced, noisy room when music is on. On the first night we could here the music in our room on the third floor as if we were sitting in the pub.

    Good location.

Not good value for money. The hotel needs full renovation. Everything really old, smelly corridors and noisy rooms.

    Being close to the station

The hotel is a pub really and not like a hotel - yet they charge high prices as if they were a four star hotel. When you leave you leave your keys at the crowded bar rather than a reception! Also being close to the station you get woken up early by bus station announcements. Either you are a hotel or a pub b@b but you can't pretend to be a nice hotel when you are not and charge high prices when you don't provide a hotel type service

We liked the location as it was very close to walk to downtown. We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms were nice and clean.

Very loud at night! Could hear the music from the bar and people on the street yelling all night long. Since there was no air conditioning, we really wanted to have our window open, but couldn't. Even closing the window didn't help. The only thing that helped was my earplugs - thanks goodness!

We had no worries during our stay at Garveys Inn. Location was perfect! The bartenders and front desk staff were awesome! We had been traveling through Ireland for two weeks and had to adjust our dates prior to arriving. Garvey's staff and booking.com were quick to reply & very easy to work with. I would recommend to others who like a nice easy going atmosphere.

The only negative during our stay were the thin walls and door that connected us to the next room. You could hear everything going on next door but it's Ireland so you're not going to be in your room much.

Convenient location, close to bus station and city center. Pub downstairs was friendly, served good food for a reasonable price, and had great music at night.

Street noise all night long. Lack of air circulation so that a hot night was very uncomfortable. Broken/missing fixtures in the bathroom.

The location was great the music was great the staff were good.

The facilities, no bath in our shoebox of a room. Bathroom tiles very dirty, the whole place could do with a makeover. Total rip off at 130 euro for the night and no breakfast, I know it was galway races, but it was a rip off charge, We stayed in a 4 star with breakfast for 100 euro in killarney, and that was as busy. Wouldn't recommend sorry.
