very friendly and most helpful staff. nothing was too much trouble.
Location very handy to both airport and city. Staff was helpful and thoughtful. Beds were comfy and shower water pressure was fine. Quiet neighbourhood close to Heuston station with good chinese takeaway Riri's! Lots of choices at breakfast.
Decor is a little dated but adequate. Television as well but hardly needed to use it as Dublin is filled with things to do!
This B&B was in a very pleasant location, close to Phoenix Park, and easy to take the bus into central Dublin. Our host was very helpful with suggestions about Dublin, and she enjoyed chatting with her guests and made us feel at home.
Great location close to transport. Comfortable and clean room. Delicious breakfast and helpful and friendly hostess.
I liked everything fhe kindness and generosity of the people . We felt they are our family
Good pub and food very close by.
Fair walk to any available parking but it was our own foolishness for having a car in Dublin.
Charming spot. We were well taken care of by Roberta and Edmund. The breakfasts were wonderful, and Roberta was a most informative hostess. We really appreciated the fact that they arranged an early morning pickup for us to the airport. Her recommendation for Ryan's was appreciated, as the food, service and atmosphere there was wonderful. The bonus was, it was just across the street. Bus service ie Hop on, Hop off was very conveniently located, and just around the corner was Hueston station. We also felt very safe walking by the River Liffey after dark.
We had no complaints, but if you were looking to be more in the centre of the city, then you would find this a little out of the way.
location and friendly staff
The room was large and on the ground floor. We had to leave earlier than breakfast was served, so the hostess packed us a lunch. It was very near the train and tram.
Not the best of neighborhoods, but not terrible.
Great location, magnificent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. The beds were comfortable, and the room was cozy.
The wifi connection was weak inside the room, but still functional.
Walking distance from Heuston train station. At Heuston! You can get on the city tram, bus to airport or ferry and buses to downtown. Very clean and friendly. Good restaurants nearby. Excellent museums nearby.
WiFi not available in room. Had to go to dining room to use it.
The room was large & comfortable, the staff was the best and breakfast was excellent. WIFI was fast & the B&B was also just around the corner from the Heuston bus, tram & train Station.
Host was very friendly and provided good tips on where to go/how to get there. Great breakfast. Location is quite good really as near the Guinness factory, Dublin park and Dublin jail. Great selection of teas!
My husband and I spent three nights at the Gate Lodge and felt very much at home. Our room was on the front of the building, but we barely noticed the street noise. The room and bathroom was spacious and modern. Breakfast was delicious and they made accommodations for my vegan diet. There were a couple of great pubs and restaurants across the street that served great food. Transit was just steps down the street and the between the train station and the buses you could get anywhere you liked. To stave off jet lag we took a long walk in the beautiful neighboring Phoenix Park.
very convenient to heuston station, staff very obliging and helpful
Grainne (proprietor) went above and beyond what would be expected from a 3 star B&B. Very helpful informative email a few days prior, warm and genuine welcome, delicious & hearty breakfasts. She even packed some lunch for us when we were going on a tour!
Very close to the LUAS, lovely freshly cooked breakfast, cosy & comfortable bedroom and the owner was very welcoming and friendly.
The bathroom was a little dated
friendly and helpful host, great breakfast, close to Heuston Rail Station.
noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom.
The location, the service, the help offered and facilities. When we said we had to leave early the next morning before breakfast we were offered cereal & juice before we left and a 'picnic' pack to take with us.
The hosts were so kind and conversational. The food was delicious and the housekeeper, Roberta, was fantastic! The location was superb and the recommendations from all of them there were great ones!
It's an old home so the water pressure was low and the toilet seat was loose. Wouldn't stop me from returning though!
It was located on the city tour bus route,so easy access to all the tourist sites, close proximity to the zoo, Ryan bar that does amazing local food and the train station is a short walk away. We had a very personal experience, Roberta really made us feel welcome and at home.
Gate Lodge is owned/run by Graine, who treated us like family. Very personable, focused on service, answered endless questions and provided excellent recommendations for where to eat (Ryan's Pub), what to do, how to get around. Provided a spectacular full Irish breakfast every morning. Can't recommend the place highly enough. A fantastic bargain.
Toilet seat a little unsteady -- a small matter.
Rooms were big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Staff were helpful and efficient.
she was very pleasant and very helpful Gordon Deen uk
We had a nice room with a big bathroom (which is quite rare in B&Bs). Breakfast was excellent and plentyful.
We liked everything.
