The hosts were so kind and conversational. The food was delicious and the housekeeper, Roberta, was fantastic! The location was superb and the recommendations from all of them there were great ones!
It's an old home so the water pressure was low and the toilet seat was loose. Wouldn't stop me from returning though!
It was located on the city tour bus route,so easy access to all the tourist sites, close proximity to the zoo, Ryan bar that does amazing local food and the train station is a short walk away. We had a very personal experience, Roberta really made us feel welcome and at home.
Gate Lodge is owned/run by Graine, who treated us like family. Very personable, focused on service, answered endless questions and provided excellent recommendations for where to eat (Ryan's Pub), what to do, how to get around. Provided a spectacular full Irish breakfast every morning. Can't recommend the place highly enough. A fantastic bargain.
Toilet seat a little unsteady -- a small matter.
Rooms were big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Staff were helpful and efficient.
she was very pleasant and very helpful Gordon Deen uk
We had a nice room with a big bathroom (which is quite rare in B&Bs). Breakfast was excellent and plentyful.
We liked everything.
Very comfortable & pleasant stay. Breakfast was delicious & plentiful. The owner went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of.
Friendliness of staff and owner. Great breakfast. Help to plan our day and advice about where to go.
Poor shower in our room- a trickle.
Everything about this B&B was perfect. Owners made everyone feel welcome and provided excellent suggestions. Would stay here again.
Loved that it was close to the Hop On Tour Bus Stop. The room was beautiful - clean and spacious and we were at the back so it was very quiet. The owners were lovely and the breakfast was awesome!!
No parking at all and the closest overnight parking lot was about 1 mile away. Suggest pulling up and dropping your luggage off first if you have a rental car (hard to do too because it's on a busy street). Great if you didn't have a car.
Very friendly staff, nothing a problem and made to feel very welcome as a solo traveller. Lovely family feel. Very good amenities in rooms.
Very friendly owner and staff. Excellent breakfast.
Being on main road
Lovely staff. Great Irish breakfast. Very close to the Heuston station.
Well, actually it´s not that important, but I don´t like the sinks with two taps...
Friendliness of staff, kindness with luggage, willingness to have early breakfast ready. A great place to stay!
I liked the staff. The staff was very helpful and nice. The location isn't so bad. It takes about 20 minutes walking to the city center.
I didn't like the room: there was sunlight in room during the morning, there was a smell of toasts entering the room and the toilet did a little noise. The breakfast hadn't a proper range of choices (only four types of cereals, milk, coffee, some jams, apples and orange juice).
Very welcoming, in spite of our very early arrival. Lovely, convenient - perfect for our needs.
Wonderfully congenial and helpful staff. Excellent full breakfast, piping hot and served in timely fashion. Closeness to some of Dublin's historical sites and natural assets. Good weekday public transport.
Rather busy location especially from the front of the building. Lack of a lounge area for guests. But, given the superior service, we would want to stay again.
Great location! Within walking distance of the city and the bus stop. Very quiet and the breakfast was great! The owners were very sweet and helpful.
No cons, loved it!
Close proximity to Heuston Station. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely breakfasts. Very clean and beds were very comfortable.
Being a larger lady I found it very difficult to get in and out of the narrow door on the shower, and we both had trouble getting round the bathroom door into the toilet. However these small things were well outweighed by the good points of the establishment.
We liked the warm and helpful owner. Rooms (we stayed at the beginning and end of or trip) were comfortable and well equipped. We liked the neighborhood and local restaurants. The location was perfect, close to the laus, trains and buses and near Phoenix Park (a gem for walkers).
Central location and very friendly hostess. Lovely old building.
We enjoyed the stay there very much, and had a nice size room with beds so comfortable. Loved the kettle and access to tea/coffee bags.Would love to come back if visiting Dublin again. Kindly Sissi and daughter Faye
We appreciated being near the train station and the good restaurants near by. The breakfast was amazing.
everything was good
Loved Roberta & Gráinne, the wonderful breakfasts and help to plan our days.
The shower could use more pressure...
Proprietors very friendly and helpful , even had sandwiches ready for us for the train as we had an early start Wonderful
