Briget was a wonderful hostess and makes fabulous bread. The home was very comfortable, especially the conservatory. A great place to stay.
Home was beautiful and staff was fantastic.
Don't get a 3rd floor room if you are tall....kept hitting my head on the low ceilings/dormers.
Location just few minutes outside of city so convenient (with a car) and yet lovely to feel and enjoy the countryside. Very peaceful. Best of both worlds. Our room on first landing was very comfortable with own ensuite. Breakfast was most enjoyable, great sausages and eggs! Connor is a walking encyclopaedia, offering helpful advice and it was nice chatting with him, Briget and Jioti.
Sometimes the wifi not operating. Not uncommon throughout Ireland.
Very relaxed and spacious facilities in a large garden setting.. Connor provided lots of information re the area and things to do.
breakfast, the service, the building, the quietness, the hot showers, Conor and Bridget
TV was too high and too small, the WiFi was woeful in our room, because, Connor, the reception from your broadband provider is woeful, not because your WiFi system is poor
the genuine owners
Hosts Connor and Brigid very helpful and welcoming.Great breakfast.lovely grounds.
Noisy plumbing. Seating plan at breakfast a bit too formal. No kettle for tea and coffee making available in the room.
I liked the rooms---the sunporch was a nice amenity----they used the honor system so guests could help themselves to a drink , tea or coffee if they wanted to.
I didn't like that it seemed more like a hotel than a B&B
Bridget & Conor were fabulous hosts. Great breakfast, great location. Clean rooms, good shower. Good value.
Rooms rather small, hard to have 2 suitcases open at same time. Double beds (vs. queen or king).
Innkeepers Conor and Bridgit could not have been more helpful or welcoming. From the lovely sunny breakfast room to the honor bar lounge area, complete with badger story. We'd come again in a minute!
Gleann Fia Country House was a lovely place to stay. The staff were most helpful, the rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The grounds around the house were fantastic, with a stream running past the car park, and we even spotted deer grazing outside our bedroom window when we got up in the morning. The breakfast was delightfull with plenty of options, would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Charming host, generous overlooking garden and views. Good beakfast.
No tea or coffee making facilities in room but available in conservatory.
Conor and his wife were extremely hospitable and made several suggestions on things to see and do in the area.
A bit out of town so you couldn't walk to town. it wad a very short drive, however.
The owners, Connor and Bridget, were very friendly and helpful people. Both were available for advance with our daily travels, and Bridget was especially nice during the breakfast hour -- which also was a nice spread of good foods and options. Parking was never a problem, the rooms were attended to everyday and were exceptionally clean and tidy. The proximity to surrounding areas and sights was excellent in terms of location and accessibility to roads. This was a grand older house which provided a home-like environment.
This grand house needs a bit of a facelift - the carpets were worn and most of the furniture in the bedrooms was dated as well, although nice enough. The bathroom was spacious with both a separate tub and shower, and very clean. The location while convenient for driving to sites was not in a good location for walking into town (we are walkers). One would have to walk on a narrow and risky country road for @ 1/4 mile and then cross a major four-lane road in order to get to "side walk" areas. For daily walks we would drive a mile or so to the St. Mary's area and walk safely in the Ross Park -- excellent walking trails. Our complaints were minor, however, but we would probably stay the next time nearer the town and park areas -- if we could only bring Connor and Bridget with us.
Perfect setting for a relaxing break. Breakfast was the best we have ever had in killarney
Bed was very uncomfortable.
Lovely surroundings, deer in the garden, peaceful, out-of-town hotel.Excellent breakfasts.
Country setting, large room. Plenty of options for breakfast. Honor bar.
No bus to the house. Complimentary bikes would be great.
The house and welcome were excellent. Conor and Bridget run a comfortable B&B, with old fashioned charm. Relaxed and efficient. Buffet cold breakfast, and/or cooked eggs and bacon to order. Would visit again.
Tea and coffee facilities not available in rooms. Communal conservatory for refreshments is functional only. Towels are not big enough. Perfectly clean and renewed every day, but as we were friends sharing and the bathroom not big enough to dress in, bath sheets would have been more suitable.
We loved the location, slightly away from the town surrounded by trees and a little stream. Very peaceful and relaxing. We had a lovely room at the top of the house which was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very friendly and kind.
Conor and Bridget were exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. They were very pleasant at all times and attentive to our needs in the dining room, and at reception.
There was really nothing to dislike
Everything was great.
Convenient to main town of Killarney, which had many nice restaurants for evening meal. Pleasant and sunny conservatory for drinks and coffee. The hosts were helpful about local attractions for visitors.
Super friendly landlord couple, very helpful about arranging day activities. Quiet location. Nice breakfast.
double bed very narrow for two
