Gleesons Townhouse & Restaurant

We stayed in the annex. The beds were the most comfortable beds we experienced in a B&B in Ireland. The large, in-room flatscreen TV was a nice surprise. The receptionist gave us a very warm welcome. The owner also introduced himself and offered to help us with a geneological search.

Hotel was very dated - Needs new furniture and fixtures. Photos on the website look too new and bright - Hotel was not new or bright! We had to change rooms because the shower did not drain and could not be fixed.

Staff went out of their way to accommodate guests - nothing seemed to much trouble (unlike many hotels where you can be made to feel that they're doing you a favour by letting you stay). Food excellent - locally-sourced, reasonably priced and cooked to perfection; I would recommend the restaurant to anyone in the area, whether guests or not.

Der Empfang durch den Manger (gleichzeitig Besitzer) war schlicht überwältigend, man hat sich sofort zu Hause gefühlt.
