The hotel was ideally located to enable me and my wife to introduce visitors from California to the beauty of West Cork. Our visitors expressed a wish to visit Garnish Island and Eccles hotel was purposely chosen by me to facilitate the long planned visit to it. The layout of the hotel is unusual and the absence of a lift in the original part of the hotel could be a problem for guests. The meal on Saturday night was not up to the standard one would expect in a modern hotel.

The double room we stayed in was one of the smallest we ever had. Having only two midsized suitcases it was difficult to arrange them in the room. The hotel ambiance is not very striking and lacks what you would expect due to ists reputation. Concerning room size the stay was overpriced.

The hospitality of the front desk personnel is so warm and accomodating. The bed room is perfect-fresh air coming from the sea can definitely uplift the spirit of an individual. And of course the friendly gestures of the kitchen staff makes the food more tasteful than it already is.

the location With reference to your question would I recommend this hotel to other travellers.. I would, regards location and hospitality very dissappointed on arrival to see how dirty our bedroom window was.. flies in cobwebs! Had to ask at reception to get it cleaned and get a change of room. Also dissappointed that there was no comfortable chairs in the room, only oe hardback chair. Also no fresh fruit offered for breakfast.

The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were professionals. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced . The view of the harbour and islands from the hotel was very pleasant. We would recommend it and would certainly return for a further visit.

The best thing about this hotel is its location, which is superb.A Short walk out of Glengariff village, it is just across the road from a picturesque part of Bantry Bay.It is an imposing building, with much wrought iron work along the front. Not only has it a seating area both sides of the front door, but a terrace as well.Our bedroom was homely, with a sea view. The breakfasts were good, and the one dinner we had was palatable and reasonably priced.The staff were friendly, and we would have liked to have stayed another night, but there was a big Bank Holiday wedding booked in. The bathroom could have been slightly bigger, and our room was at the furthest point along a rabbit warren of corridors.

We loved the beautiful view from our window and found the hotel room very comfortable and warm. It was a great base for completing the Ring of Beara. We were disappointed with the food in the hotel, especially the evening meal that we had. The seafood chowder starter was very thin, had very little seafood and was overpowered with pepper. The lamb was very fatty and reheated and the vegetables had definitely seen better days. The potatoes were old and reheated and the carrots which looked like frozen ones had turned white and dry as they too had obviously been reheated. Very disappointing. My fish was quite nicely cooked but again someone had a very heavy hand with the pepper. Breakfast was good.

Die wunderschöne Aussicht auf die Bucht aus unserem Zimmer in der dritten Etage. Zimmer großügig. Zentrale Lage an der Westküste von Cork.Große bequeme Betten, sehr hilfsbereites Personal, aber beim Frühstück schon mal überfordert. Lobby mit zwei schönen Kaminen. Fenster sehr schlecht isoliert, vor dem Hotel eine Durchgangsstraße, von deren Krach man in der Nachtruhe ziemlich beeinträchtigt war. Bad nicht ganz zeitgemäß, eng,hellhörig.

Ottima posizione sulla baia, hotel con fascino un pò "retro". Piuttosto distante dal centro di Glengariff. Nonostante la tariffa non fosse per niente economica, la colazione era deludente, abbiamo dovuto continuare a chiedere al personale di sala di rifornire il buffet poichè mancavano le cose più banali, quali pane, dolcetti e prosciutto. Era molto sguarnito.

Sauber und freundlich Der preis ist meiner Meinung nach nicht gerechtfertigt... zu teuer für das was geboten wird..wir haben in Unterkünften übernachtet die günstiger und weit aus besser waren in frühstück und comfort
