The location near Galway is excellent and the Pullman restaurant is an outstanding experience. The food very good but the ambience in the 1927 "Leona Car" from the Orient Express train was outstanding.Ask for seats on the golf course side. When we were here in 2002, the rooms and small bathrooms, were fair but needed renovation. The was no redecorating and the rooms are now shabby, the refrigerator did not work, the room was uncomforably hot and could have been cleaner.. Not recommended at these prices.. |

We enjoyed the old world charm of the hotel. It didn't feel like every other modern hotel. There was a touch of luxury about it especially in the reading rooms, dining rooms and lounge. |

Service and food were superb, really enjoyed the dining experience on the "orient express". Very friendly staff. Found our trip expensive, given the hotel was far from full occupancy room rates could have been more competitive. Important to have a car. |

Breakfast, while sounding very appetising was actually quite stodgy. No quality cereals or fresh juices etc and fry was very dry and meats were poor standard. We had attended wedding previous evening and food at that was very poor and would have been refused if had option. |
