Accommodation is comfortable, service is friendly and good but the hotel is terribly disadvantaged by a lack of lift and adequate car parking (on- street daytime parking is for 1hr max!). Lack of lift and poor car parking facilities.

We had an unplanned stay on 31/7/11 - 2/8/11.We knew nothing about the hotel other than it was close to a hospital where a relative was undergoing a procedure. We booked online on the morning of 31/7 and arrived at 5p.M.We were immediately impressed with the efficiency and friendly welcome at reception despite the fact that the hotel was manic busy. Subsequently we found that all staff and management were of this quality and no request was too much trouble. Indeed the food was also of the highest quality as a result of which we ate all meals during our stay at the hotel.I Took the decision to ask for the manager on leaving to personally thank him and all the staff for our exceptional treatment during our stay and this was much appreciated by him. Parking might be a problem but was not for us.

Good food, fast service. There was no lift in the hotel and so had to carry our own bags up 3 flights of stairs and also carry our two small children up and down. our family room was quite small. Loud music downstairs at weekends. Poor parking.

Everything was great our room was lovely, spacious bathroom powerfull shower, clean and comfortable king maybe queen size bed. Staff were friendly. I had the brie and chicken fahitas which was great. our friend had a chicken dish and enjoyed it. We would stay again and recommend it to friends. My husband was not to pleased with either the chowder or his lamb dish The chowder tasted of cornflour and very little fish. the gravy with he lamb was tastless and too thick.

This was a homely hotel, old fashioned with an open fire in the lobby, and in the bar. The breakfast was freshly cooked, and there was a choice, it was new years eve and the bar had a good atmosphere with live music, it was full of locals, the bar food was very good, we ate there both nights, we had a family room, it was clean and adequate and the staff were friendly. The parking was terrible, the hotel is very central, it was difficult to find a parking space close to the hotel, and there was a parking meter between 9am and 6pm. I had to put a disc in the car before breakfast. When I booked online I was quoted €190 for two nights but when I went to pay I was told the cost was €210 it wasn't a big problem. I was told there were booking fees. There were no facilities for smokers.

I booked this hotel on short notice for new years eve night. The Staff were very friendly. The room was a bit dated but also very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and we had both dinner and breakfast there. The bar was cozy friendly and had a very good atmosphere. Good night and one to remember, no hesitation in returning again for a longer stay!

I booked the Grand hotel for the location as I had a business event on nearby. The price was very good as it was a special offer with booking.com. I was happy with the room and the quality of the service, also location is right next to the shopping area. I was dissapointed that no parking area was made available and I had to park on the street opposite. However, given the central location this was a common practice for other central hotels as well. When I was leaving the hotel the receptionist was about to charge me the full price until I pointed out that booking.com had offered me a cheaper deal - this was checked and confirmed without problem.

Friendly welcome, room very comfortable, great shower.bed was very roomy and comfortable with good pillows.central location. Car parking limited and was full when we arrived, not a problem on a sat night as there are no parking restrictions on street until mon morn but would be very akward for a midweek break.Dining room a bit cramped & could do with a make-over.Hot breakfast good but buffet very limited and boring.

The rooms were warm - lovely on a cold day. Breakfast offered a great selection. The location was very central and the price was great. The walls were too thin! We could hear the man next door snoring!! There was no lift. As we were on the second floor, it's a long way to go with a suitcase. However, help with the suitcase was offered.

The Grand Hotel Tralee is a beautiful hotel with wonderful character, we stayed there for three nights in October 2011. It is located in the center of the old town so easy to walk about. Our room was clean and comfortable, had all the necessities - hair dryer, toiletries, ironing board/iron, kettle with tea and coffee. The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel has a pub and a dining room downstairs. We ate three meals in the pub over the long weekend and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We had breakfast in the dining room. Our breakfast was included in the room rate and it consisted of a nice selection of cold buffet items, and hot items from cooked to order menu. Tralee is a typical work-a-day Irish town, nothing touristy about the town. It has a lovely church, a path to walk to the ocean, a musuem, and a very nice garden park. If touristy is desired, there is a train to Killarney. The cost for round trip from Tralee to Killarney is 10 euro per person. The ride is just at 30 minutes, and the train is great. A taxi ride from the airport to the hotel cost 30 euro with tip. I highly recommend this hotel.
