Established in 1928, the Grand Hotel boasts open fires, ornate ceilings and mahogany furnishings.
For the golf enthusiasts, residents at The Grand Hotel can enjoy discounted green fees at the nearby Dooks Golf Club, Glenbeigh. Families can enjoy a fun day out at the Siamsa Tire, Blenerville Windmill, Crag Caves, Kerry, the Kingdom Museum or the Town Park.
Samuel's is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Lunch: 12:30 - 14:30.
Dinner: 18:00 - 21:30.
The restaurant of the hotel, on the west side of Denny Street, was once the office of Mr. Samuel Hussey (1824-1913), one of the most notorious and colourful land agents in 19th century Ireland.
The traditional style pub is known locally as The Pikeman Bar, so called as the Pikeman Statue (“Croppy Boy”) is just outside the front door on the main street.
The bar food menu is second to none and offers a wide and extensive choice of excellent food at moderate prices. The bar food menu finishes at 21:30 to facilitate our traditional Irish music sessions every Friday night all year round and nightly during summer months, which have proved very popular with local and visiting customers alike.
Divided into 2 sections, the section nearest the street was once the location of the local post office and home of Oliver Rowland Mason, Postmaster. The ornate ceilings, hand carved furniture, and fireplaces are testament to that fact. The main features of the bar are 2 open fires, wood panelled walls and traditional leaded glass, all combining to give a warm and welcoming atmosphere to Tralee's most popular and historic pub.
There are a whole host of activities for the whole family to enjoy; make a splash at the Aquadome waterworld in Tralee, or explore Craig Caves. Siama Tire will entertain you with music, folklore, song and dance. For the avid or novice golfer, an array of golf courses surround you to test your swing. Try Tralee Golf Club, an 18 hole championship course, Dooks Golf links in Glenbeigh or Killarney Golf and Fishing Club in Killarney.
The south west of Ireland itself has breathtaking views and idyllic beaches. The Ring of Kerry which meanders round the Atlantic coast, is perfect for water sports, horse riding and sun bathing.

Enjoyed the good service and the general ambience, style, decor, etc of the hotel. Our evening meal in the Pikeman didn't measure up to the breakfast we had on the next day which was excellent. |

Great location for golf in the Tralee/Dingle areas as well as touring the Dingle peninsula. Kerry musuem is just down the street. Their pub served good food. Parking was on the street but not a problem from 6pm til 9am. I could not connect to their wireless internet for some reason but there is an internet cafe a couple of short blocks away. |

we could just walk out the door and everything was on your doorstep. we stayed in kerry last year and the place we stayed you had to have a car to get around, it cost us a fortune on petrol and taxis this is not a complaint but we were over charged for our stay, i did not have a print out of my booking reservation and thought i might of made a mistake when booking.but when we got home i rang booking.com and they confirmed the mistake,i then rang the hotel and they apologized and said they refund me.to anyone else make sure you have full details of your stay and price where ever you stay |

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand. The rooms were updated and classy. The staff was excellent, the location was very convenient. It was a good home base for our trips to Kilarney, the Ring of Kerry and especially the Ring of Dingle. Tralee is a lovely town too. |

The hotel staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and well equipped and the bathroom was roomy also. Breakfast in the dining room was a quiet affair with delicious and generous food. Despite what the hotel says, there is limited paid street parking until after 6:30 pm. The parking they claim is off-street is in a cul-de-sac laneway behind the hotel amidst industrial refuse bins. |
