Service with a smile. Music. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Room felt hot and couldn`t open window until after music died. A few more healthier options for breakfast would be nice. The spuds for example I got had absolutely no nutritional value I fear.
Staff, bedroom, dinner, breakfast all superb. A minor housekeeping issue in the room was dealt with incredibly well. All the staff were top notch. I have stayed in many hotels, The Granville is up there with the best of them!
Air con in the bar was too strong. I was with a group so could not move. Sounds really petty I think!
The hotel is of a very high standard. we were particularly impressed by the high quality of produce and speed of our breakfast.
Lots of noise during the night as lot of holiday makers appeared to leave very early. we were in a bedroom close to a small flight of stair on the 4th floor and found it very noisey at 5 30 am approx. as customers appeared to pull their luggage down the stair.s
It is so central, located as it is in the centre of the quay in Waterford. There is a terrific bar food facility and, in my view, you don't need to look further for food options. They also organise excellent informal evening entertainment there. However, there is also a very fine restaurant where breakfast and evening dinner is served. The hotel is in the centre of a really good shopping area. Those staying in the Granville should check out Dunmore East and Tramore for sight-seeing. The Granville staff are particularly helpful.
I have stayed there a number of times and I can honestly say that I have never felt the need to complain.
Great Hotel! Old Hotel brought back to life! I didn't see A/C in our room, but we didn't need it. The breakfast was very good! Excellent location! A 10 minute walk from train station. The Bar/Pub in Hotel was very good! The best place we stayed and the most reasonable!
The location is very central to the town centre. The rooms are beautiful and everything was spotless. The bar food menu is extensive and reasonably priced. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is lovely and waiting staff are very accomodating.
central location, food lovely, staff very attentive, lovely rooms and entertainment
The staff was very accommodating. Friendly and helpful. The location was perfect to all sites in town. The food was excellent as well.
The room we had a view of the street and bay. However the street noise was somewhat loud and made sleeping a little tough at times. Not enough staff in the bar. People could not order drinks.
Very small room Room was hot with no way to control the heat, so hard to sleep.
Wifi kept dropping
Great staff. Bar had great selection of food. comfortable rooms. very good location.
Noise coming from downstairs bar.
Excellent hotel, very clean, great staff, very attentive, made you feel at home.
Nothing it was faultless
Old fashioned charm. Staff were friendly, especially bar staff. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. The food in the bar was good and I felt comfortable there despite being a lone traveller.
Décor is a little tired, hairdryer in room not very good and the door dropped off the wardrobe when I opened it (I fixed it myself!) The hotel is obviously set up to cater for coach trip tours. This is fine - but there was a generalised wake up alarm at 0630 in the morning - which I was not warned about and as I was on a business trip, had done a lot of travelling the day before, and didn't need to start work till 0900, a little disappointing to be woken up so early. There was no table in the restaurant available when I wanted to eat - as full of people from the tour, but was directed to the bar, where I was able to get a meal.
Great location, comfortable room, helpful staff, outstanding pub with great food, fabulous breakfast. It's even nicer than the pictures posted on line. Highly recommend the Granville!
WiFi signal in room was weak but that's a very minor flaw
Beautifully kept for its age. Lovely breakfast.
Friendliness and courtesy of staff
Food menu a bit limited
The Granville exhibited a level of professionalism, efficiency, courtesy and friendliness which is rarely encountered. The staff showed a real pride in their hotel. The facilities are first class and maintained very well. The food and service was excellent. Simply put, this hotel is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and represents superb value for money.
There was nothing to dislike
Staff were very obliging couldn't be more helpful, nothing was to much trouble, all done with a smile on their faces.
Bedrooms very roomy & elegant however staff need to use a duster more, however this would not stop me booking the granville again.
Food was great. Staff were lovely. Bed and linen comfy. Room nice and quiet. Great choice for breakfast...loved it. Plenty of seating in bar area to sit and relax. Historical associations which were displayed. Close proximity to shops and tourist things e.g. Waterford glass, Viking triangle etc. situation on the historic quays. Within easy reach of beauty spots like dunmore east.
Parking...weather was good so ok but awkward moving from one car park to another further away then had long walk to car with bags on second morning.
Nothing to dislike
This is a great hotel with lovely staff and great rooms. Will definitely be returning and would recommend The Granville to all my friends.
the road works at the quay
staff were very helpful,we were close to all amenities including the Viking Quarter, which is a must see,we were also close enough to some of the best pubs in ireland that serve incredible food, and also had great atmospheres
we actually booked a room with a river view, which we did'nt get, also the room we did get was a smoking one at some stage, and you could still smell the smoke in the room, having said all that it is a lovely hotel and has a nice homely feel about it, so its hard to take away points for those reasons.
Breakfast was excellent good quality and very fresh
