The room was a major dissapointmet as it was the smallest hotel room i have ever stayed in, it was very old fashoined and the heat was unbearable even though we had the heater turned off. We had to leave the window opened all night, neither my mother or me sleep a wink both nights. The reseptiontist on duty when we booked in was very snotty and not a bit nice. How every all other members of staff were lovely and very helpfull. The hotel is very center locatated, i have since found out that there are new rooms in the hotel and that we were staying in the older ones. It was a suprise for my mothers 65th birthday so over all i was dissapointed with the room.

Hotel Meyrick is a wonderful place, designed by Mulvanny one of the great Irish railway architects, it oozes tradition and history. Our suite was, quite simply, the most impressive hotel room we have ever had in over thirty years. The furnishings, decor, paintings and prints - including a lovely James English oil - all added to the experience. The staff from check-in to check-out were courteous and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. A hallmark of the Meyrick is service. The various extras, accessories and facilities contributed to afeeling of being spoiled and when you add to that the magnificent view over Eyre Square and the Galway Christmas Market it was, in a word, magic.

Super location - right in city centre: :short walk to adjacent train and bus station , port , and downtown Galway shops, restaurants and bars. We were offered a room upgrade: valet parking( albeit for only 25 cars) ; helpful staff. Interrnal phone system in need of updating; difficult to call reception or room service. Some rooms to the rear of hotel have ugly aspect - overlooking rusty airconditioning ducts and yard.

Handiness to the city centre Lack of parking was an issue. Also the central heating was on when it was the nicest day of the year outside and the bedroom was roasting and windows didn't open and we couldnt sleep as a result.

Very nice comfortable hotel, good food ,nice atmosphere.Bar staff very nice, helpful and friendly. Rooms at the front can be noisy from traffic and students clubbing had to move to smaller room at the back. The staff in the spa did not show you around the facilities and seemed a bit uninterested.

Location, Location, Location The room was small and very basic. There was a constant noise form the airconditioning in the room. The water was constantly hot from both the hot and cold taps.

Staff were lovely and friendly. Reception check-in and out was really fast and efficient. Breakfast was lovely and very efficient. Bar was very nice and good value. Rooms could do with a little make-over, door covering tea/coffee area very loose.

The location was fantastic. The lobby was beautiful. I was very disappointed with the shower facilities. For a four star hotl it's essential to get the fundamentals right first! The room was fine but not what I expected for four star. There was tools etc sitting outside the lift I was using which gave a very bad impression.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. While the reception area has been tastefully refurbished, our room was in need of a revamp. The carpet and furnishings were old and worn. It was also located to the side of the hotel, so from early in the morning we were kept awake by announcements and noise from the adjacent train station. We also found the room incredibly warm, as there was no way of moderating the air temperature, which also made it difficult to comfortably sleep.

On arrival, staff were exceptional. Our room was allocated but, on arrival it was a smoking room, when making reservation requested a non smoking room, advised Reception, and it was remedied immediately. Although we didn't eat in the hotel we had food in Fagans, gorgeous, maybe serve food after 9.30pm. Nevertheless a lovely stay.

I enjoyed my stay. Room service was good, staff very friendly and helpful food was good and it is centrally located. The stay was for my husband's 60th Birthday and I got an upgrade. I was dissapointed with the size of the room, I thought it would be a bit biger.
