the hotel was just as i expected very nice rooms food good and staff were friendly
food a bit pricey but its nice to have a treat.
Loved the location, the friendly staff, the food and the comfort and quiet of the room.
I didn't like leaving!!!
Very comfortable hotel in the perfect location overlooking Eyre Square. Efficient professional staff.
As a regular visitor over the yearsI noticed the rooms are beginning to look a bit tired with small things needing attention like broken light switches and grubby paintwork. Perhaps a deep clean would work wonders. The set down area in front is constantly blocked with local cars forcing residents to park away from the hotel.
The fact it was only metres away from eyre square, excellent location, the bar/restaurant was nice and spacious. The valet parking was a big bonus.
The fact I asked for a quiet room and ended up over the lobby. I rang twice about the Music being too loud, there is only so much Xmas carols one can take! Music kicked off again at 7.30 the following morning! Lobby area was freezing.
Staff were helpful courteous and friendly. Hotel is old fashioned in its furnishing but Oh how welcome was the lovely fire in the lobby
Good Staff.Great location
Rooms need an update
The staff....!!!!! Brilliant
The staff were so lovely. Extremely helpful and very friendly. They tended to everyone's needs and always with a smile on their face. A lovely set up for the breakfast and it was very tasty. The food in the Gaslight Bar was delicious and reasonably priced and I would definitely recommend it.
A little disappointing for a 4* hotel and for the money we paid. Have previously stayed in another hotel on the Square and found it the same by comparison. Bathroom was nothing different to a normal 3* hotel, curtains in the room were dirty at the bottom and the paintwork was a little scuffed.
hard to follow directions within the hotel. our bedroom was a long way from reception. the heating was very high .we found it too warm
room was lovely staff very helpful and the location is excellent for shopping
breakfast room a bit bland as upstairs is so comfortable
Was very busy for breakfast, and was queuing to get a seat, didn't seem to have enough staff.
Fabulous hotel Lovely young man working valet which was so handy. Reception bar and breakfast staff were all very professional friendly and helpful. Coleen on reception very helpful warm and friendly . The christmas decorations are by far the nicest I've seen in galway . I would stay here again .
If I had to be nit picky then I would say your breakfast is very good considering what some hotels offer for breakfast. Ingredients are clearly good quality but maybe offer beans ? And 10/10 on your homemade scones fab
Fantastic location and very pleasant staff
Not mad about the decor at reception. Fireplace lovely and welcoming but if it was my hotel I would knock the wall into reception and have it more open. Apart from that it's a lovely hotel
Room really cold, we were told heating only comes on at 4. Radiators only luke warm. Changed rooms and given a plug in heater!!!!
The hotel itself is very grand and in a fantastic location. It has amazing facilities - we especially loved the outdoor hot tub. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed in the additional wing which wasn't as attractive and had noise from the train station behind.
Found all the staff very friendly from the time we checked in to the time we were leaving. Hotel very central to shopping area and train station.
Room we had was small and bathroom needed modernisation.
Brilliant hotel with absolutely wonderful staff!!
The only negative I have about the hotel is that the beds were a little bit firm- I still managed a good nights sleep!!
Location excellent for shopping, dinner and breakfast very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Not a cosy bar for relaxing, a bit clinical.
Great location; fabulously friendly staff; excellent choice of bars and eateries - food and beverages all of an extremely high standard.
The wine from the mini bar is amongst the most revolting I have ever drunk. The treatment rooms in the spa are very close to the jacuzzi - the sound of rumbling water and guffawing couples is not especially relaxing during a massage. A couple of bathroom maintenance issues were dealt with in a reasonably timely manner but with no alternative showering or bathing facilities offered in the interim.
Customer Service was second to none and all requests were dealt with by friendly and helpful staff. Hotel was nice and clean. Location was excelent and you couldnt get more central.
Leak in the toilet but was dealt with the next morning. It was quite loud and we could hear the TV in the room above and a lot of floorboard creaking when people walked around. Restuartant wasnt great, really lacked atmosphere and food was average for the price you pay. We also recieved our bill before we had finished our meal. Wouldnt recommmend it.
Bedroom far too small Generally hotel decor was very dated
