Perfect location, extremely friendly & helpful staff, beautiful room & decor, nice breakfast, the entrance lobby is stunning. Myself & my partner stayed here for one (child free) night and we loved it.
There was nothing 'bad' about our experience but the one slight disappointment was the lack of a swimming pool
Lovely friendly receptionist,
Rooms not clean, after requesting a room away from the bus station for noise purposes, we ended up right over the bus station! Breakfast not very hot, could do with a revamp for a 4 star hotel!!!
We loved the Hotel itself...The Spa...our suite was 10 out of 10...The staff very friendly and helpful 10 out of 10...Food was excellent really could not fault our stay .
If i was really pushed to say it would just be the tv reception was sketchy and wifi at times but an old building and thick walls may have something to do with this...But i would really need to be pushed to complain about anything regarding our stay.
Loved the location Free wifi was great
Staff were excellent and very helpful. Old world charm about the hotel. Location couldn't be bettered.
No swimming pool, breakfast room a bit cold. Bedroom also a bit chilly. En suite bathroom a bit grubby and small.
Wonderful staff. Unbeatable location. High ceiling rooms.
Lamps not working. Old plugs. Overall old and tacky looking.
Great location and service.
Badly needs air con
Couples Valentine massages.
Stayed on 4th story and even with heater off the room stayed toasty warm. Had to open window to sleep well. It was rainy so all was lovely.
thanks for lovely card and chocolates for our anniversary, and lovely room with view of square.
the hut tub needed a good scrub and power wash. was temped to do it myself! we came in a bit of a rush, pilled chothes into a bag thinking we'll iron it when we get there but! no iron!!!
We were upgraded to a suite and it was lovely and the staff were great.
dated furniture. cracked tiles in hall floor. tv tiny
I booked this for my parents as a present, they had a great time hotel was lovely and staff were helpful.
Overheated roombreakfast area cramped
staff and general ambience of hotel
Disapointed with quality of bedroom
Very friendly and helpfull staff
Price of drink in Bar. Lovely bar and I think would do a lot better if it wasnt so expensive.
- great location - ok food - comfortable bed
- very small TV in room - not good value for money - should not be a 4 star hotel - hotel rooms are very dated and need modernisation. Even some painting would help
Location is excellent. The hotel is beautiful; the staff is helpful. Proximity to the train station is a plus.
Building, location and staff
Bar and breakfast area a bit stark, hate the tiled walls, food cold on second breakfast day. Reception and lobby area a bit scattered and not very comfortable
The Location was great.
I found the hotel to be cold. I did not like the bar it was more a restautant than bar.
We are newly weds, and decided to go to Galway on our mini moon!! We booked the dearest room as a treat... But the room we got wasn't the best for the price we were paying!! We were over looking the Galway bay (which also meant your overlooking the bus station - which was quiet noisy at night) the hot tub is outside, but they have a cut out in the ceiling, so its not nice to use when raining!! The Jacuzzi was nice and relaxing though. The staff were super friendly at breakfast, and getting gluten/wheat free bread, was no hassle at all!! We paid €5 per day for parking, and you would need to give about 10-15 minutes notice, when you wanted your car!! There was a lovely buzz around Galway, as the Christmas markets were on!! I would recommend to stay here again, but I wouldn't recommend paying for a top room... They definitely don't reflect the same image as on the ground floor!!
Size of room and location
Hotel is adjoining Galway's train station and our room was facing the back of hotel onto station which meant we could hear all train arrival and departure announcements!! Make sure to book a room facing onto Eyre Square..
Everything !! Wonderful and stylish, great historical hotel with beautiful interior, the staff is very professional !! The breakfast is fantastic (yogurt, cold cuts, smoked salmon, cheese, pastries + full Irish breakfast and porridge)! Very comfortable mattress, excellent wi-fi!
Only several TV channels.
Room over the front door was noisy
The price we paid didn't add up to the standard of the room. Far too overpriced
