Great location Staff were very pleasant Nice breakfast
Room wasn't very clean
Location Breakfast Staff
Decor a bit worn Room a bit too hot- unable to control it.
Every thing was laid on without having to ask for anything. Staff were there whenever you needed them without even realising they were there. Food was good and service excellent.
Wonderful Location, Wonderful hotel. As expected we really enjoyed our stay.
Hotel telephoned me 1 day before I arrived telling me that they are overbooked and will transfer me to another hotel. I would not accept this and refused, I had travelled from Switzerland to stay in this hotel. I booked this hotel 5 months before my stay and if the Hotel Meyrick continued selling the hotel since then, this was their problem to solve. Had I wanted to stay at the Radisson Blu I would have booked that 5 months previously.
Beautiful historic hotel right on Eyre Square. We had an upgraded room which was HUGE facing the square so perfect location. Parking was only 5 euro per day (great for downtown location) especially since that was valet parking. It was nice having both a restaurant and pub in the building. They had 2 weddings while we were there but there was no disruption to the other guests.
Bed was a little firm and although there were plenty of lamps, lighting was too dim for reading. TV was very small for the large size of room and Internet connection was poor. Normally these things aren't important but we spent more time in room since husband was sick.
A charming hotel in the central part of town. Rooms were a good size and a definite bonus was the fact that it offered excellent spa facilities.
The beds were a little hard.
The location of hotel was brilliant and the views from spa amazing
The breakfast room was very bland and the breakfast was cold!
Location and helpful staff
Food in res not good value for money, we all had fish one day and wery still hungery after meal. Beds could do with being replaced, a bit lumpy.
Location was excellent and the upgrade to the suit was fantastic and well priced..
Ecellent staff, food, hot tub, guinness
I loved this hotel as it is the place I first met my husband 28 years ago and it bought so much memories back. The room, staff, food and location was just perfect. The girls in the "square" spa were so lovely and gave us some wonderful treatments.
I think the Reception Desk should be placed in a move visible part of the hotel when you walk in. Itś a little hidden away and a bit dark. The spa treatment rooms need a little bit more "elegance" and could do with a bit more TLC (decor). But on the whole, great hotel.
Staff,Food, parking facilities,i have been there before and can't wait to return in 2015 for another stay, keep up the great work, the sea food and breakfast was amazing and the staff could not do enough for us
Leaving Galway and Hotel Meyrick.
friendly staff Location food
No Aircondition..room was roasting...and it was september
I loved the friendly helpful staff in all areas of the hotel. I thank Susanne who I met at the Philadelphia Flower Show for her reccomendation.
my room was located in a noisy section next to the bus station and near a door that banged loudly when it shut.
The location is ideal . Car parking!!! All taken care of! Requested room with a view of Eyre Sq...... got it. Suite was most pleasing to the eye and added to overall "good" feeling .
My stay was too short to find any worthwhile criticsm.
breakfast was amazing
Staff were very lovely and had no problem changing us from a twin to double room which I accidentally booked. Location is spot on, though most city centre hotels have that advantage, given Galway City is quite compact.
The first room we had was pretty gross. The walls were absolutely filthy and really gave the room a cheap feel. Marked and scraped and worn and dirty. Very bad form. We moved from that twin room to a double which was clean, but absolutely tiny. For a hotel charging over 200 a night, there was no complimentary water in the room. The Western, across Eyre Square (which was sadly booked up) is 120 cheaper, brighter, cleaner, more airy, same great location, breakfast also included. Wouldn't recommend Meyrick at all, in spite of friendly staff.
The location was great- close to the tourist areas, bus station, and tour busses. Liked the old world feel and lobby. The water pressure was excellent, and the mattress comfort was good. Recommended when hotel rates are not inflated by a local event (which happens often in Galway)
Though remodelled recently, there were still signs of wear and tear. Did not see a single porter during our two day stay. There was no thermostat in our room, and it appeared to lack central ventilation. This caused us to leave the windows open and raised the noise levels.
Need new mattress (215)
We stayed in the executive suite. Room was bright and clean. It had a fan too which was lovely at night. The outdoor hot tub is so relaxing. Food in hotel is great and breakfast is excellent. Staff are so friendly and helpful
We had to come home!!!!!!
Great staff, nice spa, good breakfast.
Very bad street noise until 3AM (old windows), followed by banging on the inside wall from our neighbors (thin walls and old, loose, headboards against the wall!). The manager was great in finding us a much better room the second night. Overall though, the hotel is tired and needs a lot of investment to restore it to its former glory. For $250 a night you shouldn't feel like you rented a room above a rowdy college pub.
Very friendly staff, great location and nice outside hot tub.
Room decor bit dated TV to was small relative to room size
We had a little hick up when one of our group got Ill and a doctor had to be called. The staff were outstanding. Couldn't do enough for us.
Little noisy but I knew that from before, since we are right on eyre square, just use your earplugs. Slept like a baby.
Brasserie was good
Slightly tired, dated rooms
The staff were brilliant, nothing was a problem. My wife mentioned it was both of our birthdays(hers on Friday, mine on Saturday),and we were given an upgrade to a suite from a double room.It was magnificent and made our weekend
I seriously can't think of anything..the hotel was gorgeous, food in restaurant excellent, and as I said, staff were really polite and attentive
