Score from 524 reviews Very good
room was lovely staff very helpful and the location is excellent for shopping
breakfast room a bit bland as upstairs is so comfortable
Was very busy for breakfast, and was queuing to get a seat, didn't seem to have enough staff.
Fabulous hotel Lovely young man working valet which was so handy. Reception bar and breakfast staff were all very professional friendly and helpful. Coleen on reception very helpful warm and friendly . The christmas decorations are by far the nicest I've seen in galway . I would stay here again .
If I had to be nit picky then I would say your breakfast is very good considering what some hotels offer for breakfast. Ingredients are clearly good quality but maybe offer beans ? And 10/10 on your homemade scones fab
Fantastic location and very pleasant staff
Not mad about the decor at reception. Fireplace lovely and welcoming but if it was my hotel I would knock the wall into reception and have it more open. Apart from that it's a lovely hotel
Room really cold, we were told heating only comes on at 4. Radiators only luke warm. Changed rooms and given a plug in heater!!!!
The hotel itself is very grand and in a fantastic location. It has amazing facilities - we especially loved the outdoor hot tub. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed in the additional wing which wasn't as attractive and had noise from the train station behind.
Found all the staff very friendly from the time we checked in to the time we were leaving. Hotel very central to shopping area and train station.
Room we had was small and bathroom needed modernisation.
Brilliant hotel with absolutely wonderful staff!!
The only negative I have about the hotel is that the beds were a little bit firm- I still managed a good nights sleep!!
Location excellent for shopping, dinner and breakfast very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Not a cosy bar for relaxing, a bit clinical.
Great location; fabulously friendly staff; excellent choice of bars and eateries - food and beverages all of an extremely high standard.
The wine from the mini bar is amongst the most revolting I have ever drunk. The treatment rooms in the spa are very close to the jacuzzi - the sound of rumbling water and guffawing couples is not especially relaxing during a massage. A couple of bathroom maintenance issues were dealt with in a reasonably timely manner but with no alternative showering or bathing facilities offered in the interim.
Customer Service was second to none and all requests were dealt with by friendly and helpful staff. Hotel was nice and clean. Location was excelent and you couldnt get more central.
Leak in the toilet but was dealt with the next morning. It was quite loud and we could hear the TV in the room above and a lot of floorboard creaking when people walked around. Restuartant wasnt great, really lacked atmosphere and food was average for the price you pay. We also recieved our bill before we had finished our meal. Wouldnt recommmend it.
Bedroom far too small Generally hotel decor was very dated
Super hotel in great location. Breakfast was top class & all staff were very friendly and helpful. Really made our stay very enjoyable.
Hotel bar lacks atmosphere. Really would benefit from more comfortable seating or else provide more soft seats and couches at the fire in the lobby area.
Valet parking Engaging reception staff Fab old style bedroom Great location Nice breakfast
Not used of city noise so awake a fair bit of the night!
Location was perfect for shopping and walking around the city - the car park to the rear ment that we could pop the shopping in the boot rather than dragging it up to the room. The bar/ restaurant manager was chatty and courtious.
The dirty windows in our bedroom - totally let down the look of the hotel from the rear - appreciate with the location it may not be the easiest to maintain but they looked as if they hadnt been washed in years.
Excellent location for exploring the city, close to pubs shops and restaurants. Lovely old building tastely decorated in parts. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I liked the outdoor hotub with great views over the city
The central location of the hotel on Eyre Square can have its drawbacks depending on the situation of your bedroom. My bedroom was at the front of the hotel and some noise from late night revellers, but have experienced worse Also there were two wedding on in the hotel on the two days I stayed there, and the guests literally took over the hotel foyer and bars. We had to evacuate to a neighbouring hotel for a quiet drink. An alternative entrance and seperate bar for residents only, is required. Breakfast was fine with good selection, but if you ordered something from the kitchen not available from the buffet such as poached eggs or kippers the waiting time was too long Some floors and landingsof the hotel were tired looking and in need of refreshment. The stair rail up to the leisure complex was wobbly and the leisure complex disappointing - no sauna or swimming pool.
It is an elegant 19th century building and nicely maintained. It looks out onto a beautiful public area but is just up the street from the bus station so very conveniently located
When I received my bill, it referenced that breakfast was included. No one at the desk ever mentioned that when I checked in so I missed that opportunity.
Great location Staff were very pleasant Nice breakfast
Room wasn't very clean
Location Breakfast Staff
Decor a bit worn Room a bit too hot- unable to control it.
Every thing was laid on without having to ask for anything. Staff were there whenever you needed them without even realising they were there. Food was good and service excellent.
Wonderful Location, Wonderful hotel. As expected we really enjoyed our stay.
Hotel telephoned me 1 day before I arrived telling me that they are overbooked and will transfer me to another hotel. I would not accept this and refused, I had travelled from Switzerland to stay in this hotel. I booked this hotel 5 months before my stay and if the Hotel Meyrick continued selling the hotel since then, this was their problem to solve. Had I wanted to stay at the Radisson Blu I would have booked that 5 months previously.
Beautiful historic hotel right on Eyre Square. We had an upgraded room which was HUGE facing the square so perfect location. Parking was only 5 euro per day (great for downtown location) especially since that was valet parking. It was nice having both a restaurant and pub in the building. They had 2 weddings while we were there but there was no disruption to the other guests.
Bed was a little firm and although there were plenty of lamps, lighting was too dim for reading. TV was very small for the large size of room and Internet connection was poor. Normally these things aren't important but we spent more time in room since husband was sick.
A charming hotel in the central part of town. Rooms were a good size and a definite bonus was the fact that it offered excellent spa facilities.
The beds were a little hard.
