The Malton’s classic Garden Room Restaurant showcases the best tastes of the Kerry countryside, all under the great gilded dome of the original stunning Victorian dining room. Enjoy warm baked bread from The Malton Bakery while the sommelier presents you the perfect bottle from the wine cellar. The menu features an exciting mix of traditional recipes artfully prepared with a modern twist. Head chef John O’Leary can often be seen on pilgrimage to local markets and farms, buying the freshest seasonal fruit and vegetables. These local specialties are highlighted on the menu. Some neighborhood foods to look out for are Killorglin Gouda cheese, locally smoked ham, native seafood, Killarney honey, and local beef and pork - fully traceable to Kerry farmers.

The Garden Room Restaurant overlooks The Malton’s landscaped grounds, where you can enjoy the famous breakfast, or an absolutely elegant evening out. Peppers restaurant offers a less formal setting than the Garden Room Restaurant. Peppers finds inspiration in classical dishes, skilfully infusing them with sunny, fresh Mediterranean flavors. The stylishly furnished dining room seems to glow with soft lighting, rich colors, and intelligent service. Always present is the easy, friendly manner of John Fitzgerald, Maitre d’ Hotel, who has spent the last 40 years welcoming guests and insuring a perfect evening.

Every room offers luxury, whether in the Main House, with its high Victorian ceilings and impossibly tall windows, or the newer Garden Wing, for contemporary comfort and style.

Each room at The Malton has something special – some with smooth leather headboards, others with silky curtains, or stylish wallpaper. Anonymous Solo traveler Ireland October 13, 2011	I liked the Malton and would have rated most everything higher except for the fact that twice in the Sunday morning staff knocked on my door and attempted to enter the room, I had the chain on so they couldnt but I didnt get an apology either. Being the depths of winter when I stayed there, there were lovely glowing fires to welcome you. The staff were excellent . Loation very good, if you are a shopper it is most convient to the town centre and it has an outlet centre on the doorstep. I stayed only one night but will definetly make it a longer stay next time,and will be recommending it to friends. This is being very fickle ,but, the butter that came with your bread was taken straihgt from the fridge so it was therefore impossible to spread. The tranquility of the whole place yet so accessible to shops, restaurants, etc. On this occasion, we were unable to enter the grounds of the hotel from the car park as there were barriers put up in the openings between the car park and the hotel grounds - as the car park was busy on the day we arrived and on following days, this entailed a long walk from the furthest point of the car park to the main entrance. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful, did you?	9.6

When we arrived we were upgraded to a beautiful room at the front of the hotel - 214 - and we were thrilled. We also dined in the restaurant the first evening we arrived and the food was perfect as was the service.We would recommend the Malton to everyone we know - we had a wonderful relaxing time. It is very nice to come in after a day sightseeing and relax in one of your many comfortable rooms off the foyer. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
