In the heart of the Georgian city of Dublin, this 3-star guesthouse features traditional dècor and furnishings. It was built in the 18th century, and was once part of the Earl of Clonmel’s estate.

Perfect location for exploring any part of Dublin but especially good for spending evenings in Temple Bar. The onsight pub (Darkey Kelly's) was an unexpected treat with great food and a wonderful selection of beer and whisky. Oh, and live music! The only improvement our room needed was some repainting in the bathroom where it was peeling above the shower. But the staff was excellent and everything else was very nice. We'll be back!
I mentioned above--just need to repair the peeling paint in the bathroom. Oh, and the hot water pressure! !
location large room great staff pub restaurant
The location is good, but not good enough to make up for what the hotel lacks.
The hotel is beginning to look quite seedy. Everything from the carpet, bedding, towels, etc. needs to be replaced and upgraded. We cancelled our reservations for our return to Dublin at the end of our tour and booked elsewhere.
Nice pub with good burger. Quite busy in the evening with loads of students. Good entertainment.
Don't run a tab with the bar bill, overcharged. Service in pub fair to poor, not enough staff. Church bells ring throughout the night, not good for a light sleepers!
Fab location and friendly staff. Would decently stay again
We stayed here the night before we caught a flight. The room was fine- we were above the outdoor patio of the restaurant. Not a problem because it was fall and we kept the window closed, but it might be a bit noisy if you needed the window open. It was very easy to get to the airport; the airport bus stops just around the corner. The room had a convenient mini-fridge.
charming hotel with restaurant/bar. Large room/bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. It was walking distance to Temple Bar and other attractions.
excellent value for money comfortable beds good size room updated bathroom mini fridge windows that open location close to everything
a little noisy with the bar below when had to go to bed early TV so small they should not even bother. pillows too flat
The staff are the most pleasant, polite, helpful and genuinely caring people I ever had the pleasure to come across. Enjoy the fantastic music too. .. Best ever irish music
Very handy location, good service from staff in hotel & Copper Alley restaurant.
Room small & stuffy, needed air conditioning on all the time. Motor from bar fridge very noisy. Toilet cistern very slow & noisy while filling.
Pleasant stay in good location
Room was comfortable & clean. Reception staff were very friendly & helpful. Bar was relaxed with good menu.
The room (king bed and a single bed) was spacious and clean. Close walk to Temple Bar and other Dublin attractions. Nearby bus service (about 1/2 block) to pick-up service to/from airport. Great food at Copper Alley Bistro attached to the hotel.
No air conditioning in room. Lots of noise coming up from the pub late in the evenings, but then again we had our window open to cool off the room. Noise probably isn't an issue during the winter months. Awful t.v. reception and outdated t.v. itself. Shower drain didn't drain, so we were standing in ankle deep water within 5 minutes of starting the shower! Price was steep ($950 for 4 nights) but there were a high amount of American tourists in town for an American football game which jacked the price up.
location, size of the room and bed
The Staff was attentive and helpful. The food and service in the restaurant was very good. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and roomy. The small fridge in the room was also a nice feature. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning was a plus.
The bells from the church were loud at night in the rooms facing the church. The rooms facing the back were quieter.
bar, restaurant meals, location within walking distance to Dublin Castle, Christchurch & St Patricks Cathedral & other Dublin tourist spots, quietness of the location, hop on hop off bus stop located opposite hotel
Close to city centre. Comfortable room,
Window looked directly into another bedroom opposite in the narrow light well, had to draw the curtains in daylight for privacy.
Very central to downtown - Temple Bar and Cathedrals
While room was spacious - rest of hotel was a little cramped. Small window that did not overlook anything.
Room & bath size ok. Location was the best thing about this hotel.
If I stayed here again, I would ask for a room higher than 3rd Floor. Noise & smokers from downstairs pub(more problem with the smoke) was annoying. Shower very slippery & only has shower curtain that allows water to seep through & drench floor.
location friendly, helpful staff
cramped room, especially at the side of bed (low slanted ceiling) noise from nearby Cathedral
Reception staff fantastic
Excellent location in the center of Dublin. View of the Christ Church Cathedral. Very nice pub next door (Darkey Kelly's) with live music; no noise in the room though. Coffee/thee available in the room. Bus to the airport 2 steps away.
Slow internet. Super small bathroom (in a single room). Rather warm in the room, but the weather was good enough to have the window open.
Location Friendly reception staff
Very basic hotel, little pricey for this type of hotel, room small, noise through door to corridor. But having said that, served the purpose of visit.
Comfortable, clean rooms close to town centre, quieter area of town. Well serviced by Airlink Bus from airport.
Location is great-walking distance to everything. Large double room and a great big bed. It overlooked the outdoor smoking area at the rear of the pub...but this closed promptly as promised at 22.30-so that noise was not a problem. Shower temp/pressure was fine.
Bathroom had loose floor tiles and badly flaking paint on the ceiling over the shower. Not to mention the absolutely lethal mini-step up as one enters...there is a caution sign on the door-but it's still a hazard.Overall finish in the bathroom was substandard, considering that the rate is over €100. Breakfast next door was just ok-I would have it elsewhere next time
