a nice place to stay close to city centre
Very good localisation for the purposes of my visit to Dublin, next to a bus stop from/to the airport (16). Very cosy, friendly place. Many cafes, restaurants in this area. Helpful staff making guests feeling like at home. Room was better than one I had booked.
The hostel is at a good location, just a five-minute walk from St. Stephen's Green. Bus 16 from the airport stops right outside the door. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I don't know what everyone else is complaining about in terms of breakfast and hot water in the shower. There's a maximum of 4 people in a room, which is not a lot for a hostel. And surely you won't stay in bed past 10am? Get up earlier. I never encountered any problems.
There are no lockers to stash your stuff (although you can hand it over to the reception desk, but that closes at 9pm or so), and there could have been more outlets in the room, for example at least one for every bed.
The hostel was clean and staff friendly and helpful .The location of the hostel was good as buses were on time and frequent and the bus stop was right across the street .You could also walk to city centre about 15 minute walk .would recommend to friends and family .
Everything was perfect!:)
We used this hostel mainly as a place to sleep, we were gone all day. I enjoyed the fact that the kitchen was there to utilize if needed.
The wifi was finicky, could only get it to work in one spot.... The main entrance hallway.
The room was clean and, although a wobbly bunk bed, I did sleep well.
The room was extremely small. My daughter and I are both slim, which is just as well as the bathroom, although clean, was minute.
Good location. Basic but adequate room. Nice bed. Free bikes to borrow but be careful when you choose.
Although my single room was en suite, that was hardly an advantage as there was only cold water in the shower, however clever I tried to be with the hours. Breakfast was very basic - tea/coffee, toast, some butter and jam/marmalade to share.
The room is cozy, nice location (not too far from the city center and calm), friendly people.
The wi-fi connection in the room was not stable.
Good price-quality rate
Ok for a few nights breakfast (although basic) was included. Ideal location for tourist attractions
Very basic. Towels weren't in the best conditions no extractor fan in bathroom room occasionally felt damp
Nice, staff friendly, bus stop outside door, continental breakfast. Hot water turned off at night, bit inconvenient. Walking distance to shops and restaurants
Located short walking distance from St. Stephen's Green. Nice quiet room- just what was required after a day of music Room and bathroom were spotless with nicel clean sheets and towels Lady at reception was very helpful when it came to leaving bags there after check out and returning to collect them much later on. Number 16 bus ran right outside which was really handy getting to Marlay Park.
Not much -One of party complained about comfort of mattress on bunk -Room had a skylight so no window we could open but didnt get unbearably hot
Fantastic location for me, can walk to all the places I need to get to. I like the fact they don't have carpets, but wooden floors. They're so much more hygenic and clean. Very friendly staff, good information material in the hall. I will definetely stay there again soon.
It would be good to have access to the kitchen later than 9 p.m. to be able to make a cup of tea or take sth you own out of the fridge. Sometimes it takes a while to open house or room door, because the key won't work straight away, but I suppose this is due to the wooden doors, that change depending on the weather. But this was never a real problem.
Everything seemed clean and the lady who runs it is very nice.
Door locks are cheap. Breakfast is cereal and toast.
Very helpful host, everything is within walking distance.
-Excellently beautiful hotel. Irish charm near downtown dublin!
The assistant to the owner was a nice, helpful guy.
This place is an overpriced backpackers hostel. Ours was a spartan bunk bed twin room. The breakfast was poor - cheapest sliced bread and jam, three generic cereals, foul no-names instant coffee and no tea. There are many better value places in Dublin but we discovered this after booking.
Friendly people, 15 min walk to temple bar area.
There could be a better selection of cereals for breakfast and a coffee machine.
The bad was to small for me.
Ensuite rooms. Backyard to sit outside.
Staff wasn't very friendly. Poor breakfast. Kitchen has closed at 9 pm.
Quiet area and close to the city attractions and supermarket by foot. Having access to the small backyard was very pleasant. The rooms are in a house so it really feels like home. The breakfast was basic but OK (toasts, cereal, tea and coffee) considering it was included in the room price. A lot of documentation was available about tours and things to visit. We really appreciated having free bikes provided by the hostel.
The room was small but comfy. the host was nice and friendly. We were very happy that we could borrow the bikes as it brought us to anyway around dublin :-) Breakfast was basic woth toasts, jams, cornflakes, coffee and tea (here was was expecting local irish breakfast though :-)) In general it was all good.
Shower could have run more strongly.
- Wifi was available for free - Towels and bed linen had already been provided in the room
- no lunch box for early leaving guests provided - cleanliness: doubtful... - nasty shower curtain - parking was expensive: in the area around the hostel, you have to pay between 7:00 a.m. and midnight - hourly rate 3 EUR. - the bunk beds were REALLY unsteady - every time the person on the lower bed moved, the upper bed moved as well - very plain room in an annex to the main building - actually, it's just beds put into a chamber. nothing was well-thought-out
I could not fault Harrington House in any way - it was ideally situated for me. The staff were fantastic and could not have been more welcoming and helpful to me. My room was spotless and had everything I needed. The kitchen too was spotless and everything was available.
