In the heart of the Georgian city of Dublin, this 3-star guesthouse features traditional dècor and furnishings. It was built in the 18th century, and was once part of the Earl of Clonmel’s estate.

Only a 5 minute walk from Temple Bar in central Dublin, The Charles Stewart offers spacious rooms with private bathrooms with shower, free Wi-Fi, and full Irish breakfasts in a charming Georgian style...

Just a short walk Trinity College, Grafton St and Temple Bar area. Back room was great away from any street noise. Terrific sized rooms and very clean.
Short walk to all the shops and pubs. The design of the hotel is very nice.
The rooms with the view to the road are quite noisy due to the tram and also night club across the street. If you have problems sleeping ask a room in the back
Although the parking spaces are tight and requires some time to maneuvers the cars to get in and out, is one of the only hotels with parking spaces in the city centre.
The lady on the breakfast hall made us feel like strangers.
Location was good easy walk to grafton street room was clean
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and lovely, definitely recommend!
The noise from the clubs even though had a room at the back.
Nightclubs opposite hotel... very noisy. No sleep. Breakfast disappointing...poor selection of cereals etc. Poor value
On-site parking is a huge plus, staff were very nice, spotlessly clean. Nice cosy place.
Friendly staff. Comfortable and clean room.
Breakfast can be better.
Great location, within walking distance to St. Stephen's Green (5 min), Grafton Street, Trinity College (10 min), Temple Bar (15 min). Big room, comfortable and modern (there was a bathtub too).
Beautiful common room, comfortable bedroom, good breakfast.
Warm, clean and comfortable with lovely fittings and helpful staff who were unobtrusive but always there when needed. Free secure car parking spaces at the back - in a part of Dublin where parking fees, assuming you can find a place, cost more than lunch. Right round the corner from the National Concert Hall, A five-minute stroll from St. Stephen's Green, Grafton Street or the fascinating thoroughfare that runs along Sth George's Street, through Wexford St., Camden St. and Portobello all the way from city centre and across the Grand Canal to Rathmines/Rathgar. Noon checkout is a comfortable hour later than many/most Dublin hotels.
The Luas tramlines run right past the front door - a mixed blessing - and some of the Harcourt Street nightclubs discharge noisy revellers in the early hours. Both of these nuisances can be neutralised by securing a room towards the rear of the hotel.
Breakfast time started at 730 am. Could be earlier
- friendly and helpful staff - very nicely decorated interiors with soft couches, large armchairs and thick carpets - a spacious room - it was easy to connect to the internet and it worked without problems, unlike at many other hotels that use bitbuzz and the like.
- the windows are terrible, the wind was whizzing through them (hence it was slightly cold) and we could very well hear the people leaving clubs on the opposite side of the street at night - the pillows could be more comfortable - the blankets were way to thin for the amount of cold air that was getting inside through the windows
The noise on the street kept us awake both nights
Size of room.
Staff, room and service was good.
A very lovely hotel located in a quiet area and so closed to the city center. Rooms are very confortable and beautiful. Staff at the reception desk is very helpful and friendly.
location, cleanliness, value for money
Staff most helpful and pleasant, will endeavour to meet needs if at all possible.
Decor a bit dated and tired
Originally we were in a basement level room which was very large and decorated nicely. On our second night of stay we asked to switch room and the staff was helpful Large Bathrooms Fans in the rooms
Upon entering the rooms first, they were really really warm and stuffy and uncomfortable. The windows didn't open properly. The LUAS outside can be heard very loudly! When we asked for a different room because of the noise we were switched to a room where the noise was just as loud. The noise from the surrounding clubs made it extremely difficult to sleep.
needs a place in bathroom to put ones personnel products ,shaving etc Top on toilet or sink are not good enough thank you
Rooms were beautifully decorated. Wifi worked well in room.
Had difficulty sleeping both nights as there are two night clubs across the street. And the noise from 11:30pm until 4:30am is horrendous! The windows are definitely not sound proof. We couldn't sleep at all during this time. Lots of people calling out. And taxis beeping their horns continuously. I wouldn't stay here again for this reason.
People was polite and helpful
- It was a hose refurbished, not a hotel, more similar to a B&B - One of the windows was broken, not only the latch but also the seal, so could listen to the music coming from the Discos around. It was a big issue and they were aware, but didn't do anything to repair it. Couldn't sleep and ruined our following day. - Wooden floor, so when the other guests were walking in the room next to ours or the corridor, where moving the furniture a lot. - Paper walls, could listen to everything our neighbours said, when the Discos' music weren't loud.
Everything about the hotel! It was very comfortable, ideal location and very helpful, friendly staff.
Could have been warned of the noise given that we were in room 1, but it wasn't hard to stay asleep once you drifted off
