I have stayed in many top quality hotels both in Europe and Ireland, all 5 star, this was the one hotel that far exceeded all my expectations! I only realised later that is 4 star and for the life of me I cannot understand this. The hotel is truly amazing, rooms out of this world and I can't say enough about the quality of the staff employed. The location on the edge is just so beautiful and the Blue Stack mountains surrounding same equally so. If you really feel the need to get away from it all and feel peace and tranquility, this is the place for you. The value for money was excellent and I know I will return again and again. It is a true "find". Best hotel I have ever stayed in in all my 46 years, and I am certainly one when chosing a hotel I want quality and Harvey's Point has all that and more. Sharon Kennedy, Kildare The only small complaint I would have is as regards the food in the Bar. The portions were rather small and the vegetables were non-existent. The meno didn't properly represent what you actually got on your place, however the quality of the food was excellent.

The room was gorgeous and food at wedding reception we were attending amazing On returning to our room after wedding reception we met two "security men" in corridor. They told us they had another two floors to patrol and we "better be gone" on their return. I found this insulting as although it was late we were whispering as we stood outside our room and not causing any disturbance. I found their tone aggressive and told them there was need to talk to us in this way (we were standing in our room at this point) My friend told them they had got the wrong people and if there had been a complaint about noise it wasnt us. Their response to this was "get your facts straight dear". I don't drink and my memory of the whole incident is perfectly clear to me. I would have mentioned it at checkout but members of the bridal party were there and I didnt want to bother them with it. The rest of our stay was so great, its such a pity about that whole incident as it left us with a very bad taste in our mouths. I understand that perhaps there can sometimes be a problem with unruly guests but we certainly were not and did not deserve to be talked to in such a disrespectful way. Their attitude might be appropriate dealing with drunken and aggressive revellers outside a nightclub but certainly one which I would not expect from staff in a hotel of harvey points standard

The location is beautiful. For the price of the hotel & dinner for two nights we could have had a week in Portugal. I want to stay in Ireland for weekend breaks but when I was on my way home on Sunday I just felt I had been ripped off. Don't stay in this hotel if the only rooms available are in the Courtyard. They are very cold and dull.

There is no question that of all the hotels I have ever stayed in this must be a number one favourite. The ethos of this hotel seems to be perfection and I cannot think of a single aspect of our stay that would fail to live up to that expectation. We had booked an executive double room but what we got exceeded all our expectations by far. We were shown to a very large suite which was exquisitely furnished and also had a superb bathroom with large double shower as well as a family sized Jacuzzi bath. Our baby son did not only have his own cot but also his own toiletries as well as a little gift toy. The hotel is in a stunning lakeside location near Donegal town and breakfast was served in the restaurant overlooking the lake. The food was of the highest quality and both the continental and cooked food selection was superb. We were personally greeted by the owner who not only remembered the name of our son but was also kind enough to arrange a late checkout for us so that he could have his sleep before we set off. This is of course not the cheapest hotel in the area but there is no question that Harvey’s point offers exceptional value for money as the experience of staying there is second to none.

First of all,we have never arrived at a Hotel with such a warm welcome. It started with the offer of a glass of Proseco as we relaxed before going to our room.Watching the swans on Lough, as we sipped, gave us an indication of the relaxation that we were to experience during our recent two night stay at the remarkable Harvey's Point on recommendation from friends. The staff were very helpful, friendly and kind in their response to our concerns and needs. It is by far the Best we have Ever experienced. We are truly fortunate to have experienced Harvey's Point and hope to return in the future.

This was our 2nd stay at Harvey's point. It was the premiere accomodation of our 2008 Ireland vacation and a must to stay at again. We were not disappointed in 2011 and would have stayed longer if our itinerary permitted. What luxury! If only we could plan a wedding there for one of our children, we would be over the moon. Perish the thought. What is there not to like?

It was for a wedding so the day was great. We were in a basic room that was on the lake and that was a beautiful view The room was nice but the bathroom was very poor. Remined me of the 80'S. could do with an update. I saw the premium rooms and they were amazing

The journey from the main road to the gates of the hotel were lovely. The reception area was unique with cosy fire just to the left. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we had Executive Double which we found breathtaking and the bathroom was something else. Its the nicest place we have stayed in ever. The dining room and the bar were also lovely and we enjoyed walking by lough eske after breakfast each day.

Service during wedding was brilliant! That I paid the same as my parents - ended up in the old part of the hotel - where my room was extremely small, wasnt cleaned to standards & they had an executive suite, fantastic room with huge modern bathroom & living facilities. I would certainly recommend this hotel to people however that they state when booking that they choose the new wing only & if they cannot do this through Booking.com that they contact the hotel directly!!!!

Harveys point should be a 5 star hotel. It has everything you could wish for and more. We stay here a few times per year and it never fails to satisfy. The staff make you feel so special. We cruise every year on holidays but tha food at Harveys is a gastronomic delight. The rooms are amazing and among the most comfortable we have ever stayed in.

Stayed one night for a family wedding. Athough outstandingly expensive, everything about Harvey's Point is exceptional. Could not find fault with anything! If reallly pushed .... perhaps a hook by the shower to hang a towel :) Will go back when I have saved up enough for a long weekend. Price

the restaurant was excellent from the layout of the room that made the most of the excellent views of the lake, to the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the food. The only criticism I would have is that the dinner menu did not vary at all between the first and second night. It would have been more interesting to have had a different choice.
