Leisure centre, restaurant love the hotel our family have been there for the last couple of years in November and we always enjoy ourselves and have recommended it to our Dublin friends
Food wasn't good
Size of room, open fires, comfortable seating area with leather sofas, good menu and great food, choice of breakfast was excellent and attentive staff.
Not really a complaint, but price of food and drink is high in general in the south of Ireland.
Staff Bed Pillows Shower Atmosphere in bar
Carpets a bit soiled and could do with replacement.
The friendliness of the staff. Swimming pool & gym & spa. Excellent breakfast. Good value for money. Had a nice quite room
Absolutely loved our weekend here. Staff so friendly and helpful. Food is amazing in both restaurant and bar. My favourite part of our weekend was our afternoon tea on sat right by the fire. So relaxing and the waitress was so nice. We Definitly plan on goin back after Christmas. We've been to quite a few hotels over the years but I have to say horse and jockey was our favourite. Thank you for a great relaxing fun and enjoyable weekend
I didn't like when our weekend was over and we had to go home :) honestly cannot fault this hotel.

Nice Rooms Wonderful Bakery Easy Access to Motorway Nice Breakfast
Cigarette ash on window sill of a non smoking room should have been cleaned off, not 4*. Bar carpet in bad need of cleaning, even replacing, not 4*. Breakfast staff dress needs to be a lot better, one member looked well the rest including the Manager/Owner definitely not 4*. Food in bar only OK, not 4*. Bath water took ages to drain and when having a bath the plug did not stop the water emptying either, not 4*. No hot water in the evening, not 4*. Door stopper in Bathroom badly located and broken, not 4*.
Spacious Rooms Food
The hotel seems to have a totally incompetent management. We had booked two rooms. Both rooms were dirty. The guest information folders were sticky. You wouldn't even want to touch them. In the bathroom there was hair in the sink and there were fingerprints on the mirror. My son got locked in the bathroom (no window) and couldn't get out without assistance. The lock was broken. I wonder if they've ever heard of maintenance. The hotel's wellness and fitness area looked quite nice. But again: it lacked maintenace (no antiseptic towels to wipe the machines,...). Worst all the breakfast room. Disgusting sticky cutlery and dirty dishes. Breadcrumbs all over the chairs and tables. When checking out I gave the lady at the desk this feedback too. Unfortunately, she did not seem to care much. Said she was sorry though...
Loved the whole experience friendly staff, great leisure facilities and lovely food
Lesure centre was great.
Location nothing around, room cushions very dusty, hair dyer that hardly worked, main light dident work, bathroom standard, bar food way over priced, €6-13 for child's meal, €16-25 for adults and not a lot in them, €7.50 for 3 scoops of ice cream, not very child friendly bar staff not friendly at all.
The staff were lovely at reception the food was very good both at the pub and the restaurant . I did not get a chance to go to the spa or the pool but overall everything was great
The window in our room was broken we could not close it properly so we could hear the birds early in the morning but I would be a light sleeper anyway.
it was comfortable, the food was excellent, the staff were reasonably friendly. it is good value for your money.
a lot of common areas needed to be cleaned, there are some maintenance issues, there are also some issues with noise, especially night noise been generated by some mechanical means, which was difficult to sleep with.
Loved this hotel. Has everything and we had a nice big room.
Would loved to have stayed longer
Everything was better than we could ever of imagined. Staff where friendly, knowledgeable and could not do enough for us. Rooms were excellent and comfortable. The food was lovely. keep on doing what you are doing !!!
Everything was excellent.
Every single member of staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Receptionist, waiters and waitresses, bar staff - they all made my stay extremely enjoyable! Food was excellent also.
The food was extremly expensive in the hotel.
Good food Convenient location for a break between Dublin and Cork
Little in the way of nearby attractions
Rooms were good standard with all suitable facilities, (Tea and Coffee, Drinking Water, TV etc)
Hotel communal areas are starting to look dated.
