Gracing the main street of Lisdoonvarna, The Royal Spa Hotel is at the gateway to Ireland’s National Park, the Burren. Just 6 miles from the coast there is traditional music every night.
Score from 99 reviews Very good

i liked the rooms that had been updated i changed to a modern one and it was lovely ,,,the shower was amazing...the staff are very friendly. although it would be nice to meet some irish staff at reception ........ The music in the ballroom was very enjoyable ,....
I thought the breakfast was very basic i would like to have more variety....the security staff where a little on the bossy side at night . ....
Price and freshly cooked breakfast
Dated interior. Very Small room
Very friendly and helpful staff.
friendly staff, food, ambience.
no guarantee of a car space, could have given passes for nearby club park.
Travelling on my own can mean more expense when staying somewhere. I found the Hydro excellent value as well as very comfortable. The staff were very attentive.
Better broadband Wi-Fi coverage would be desirable.
Location and staff were the only good thing for us
Rooms were very poor quality for €200 per room per night
You couldnt fault this place for anything, the rooms are huge and spotless with a bed soo comfy that you never want to leave it. Food is top notch and the ever so friendly staff would always go out of their way to make your stay ever so pleasant.
Being charged €1 for a pint of tap water in the bar during the night.
Everything was just ideal for us for our weekend during the Festival. There was something for everyone. Music was brilliant, the mix of C & W and the soul nights, and the nightclub for those who wanted that. Food very good. Location excellent. Comfortable. Lovely staff.
On our first weekend of two, our room was near the nightclub which was very loud and although we didn't go to bed early, sleep was difficult. The following weekend we asked for a room at the other side of the hotel, which was fine. The other thing that we felt was not so good was that there was an element of sleaziness introduced with the provocatively dressed girls with whips dancing in the foyer and going around town advertising the hotel.
location excellent .entertainment and dancing v .good, comfortable hotel and helpful staff.
Staff rang me to confirm my booking, i advised them that it was my partner and his friend that were staying. They checked in and everything was fine. When my partner returned to get the keys to the room and advise the receptionist that his friend would follow she snapped the keys from him. Eventually he got them back however she was very rude to Colin and did not want to give him a key. Very disappointed with how they were treated.
the place was very clean the staff were friendly and very helpful a very plesent place to stay
I liked the security around the hotel on the weekend i was there.
Staff not sure how to get to different places.I thought all staff would be trained in the places tourists like to go.
Beautiful hotel. Gets a little loud during Matchmaking Festival. Which we didnt know we'd be there for. Otherwise great
Very unhelpful staff, felt very uncomfortable, value for money extremely poor. Very little choice of food and what food we got wasn't very fresh (stale bread).
Accomodotion - the room was nice and bedding was of good quality. The hotel could do with renovations to the toilets in the bedroom and the lobby area could have better seating in it. Accomodation was expensive. Staff were friendly and service was very good in the hotel.
No food served after 8.45 o'clock at night. Philpapeo - I went down to stay for the match making festival. I didn't like the way a big beam of light was coming through my bedroom. When we complained, we were told nothing come be done but finally the manager the following night to change the setting of the light. I didn't like that Filipino women for paddys was being advertised openly in the car parks of the hotels. ( it was supporting the tracking of women). This had to be backed by the hotel owner as the leaflets were lefted on the cars up to 3 times a days. This can't be legal. As the night of entertainment went on, they was young girls with very little on them up dancing on stages supporting some of the acts. On the sat night, two girls were standing on boxes shaking wipes as you came in the door. Not appropriate for a traditional festival that has been on for years. The standard is going down, if this is going be future of match making festival activities.
Staff very friendly and service excellent. Very clean and spacious hotel, very relaxing.
Large adverts advertising a better rate than was available on-line.
Enjoyed the hydro hotel a little outdated & Wi-Fi very poor. Location lovely. Its a real stop off for coach tours
Hotel is located just several kilometres away from Cliffs of moher and provide a free parking. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was OK as well.
There is a poor wifi singnal, almost none. They have a strange room marking when several rooms starting with number 2 are located on the second floor and several on the third floor and numbers of rooms are not all the time in order but little bit randomly.
The breakfast could be improved , with a little more choice of fresh fruit and brown toast...It would be nice to have some irish staff...
Hotel was so so clean and staff very helpful and were the hardest working staff i ever saw. I only hope they get paid well as they deserve every penny. Would stay again in a heart beat xx :-) :-)
The fact i didnt get to stay longer in this beautiful hotel x :-) :-)
location staff breakfast
Everyone was very nice.
Would have liked to have wifi in the rooms. Also would have been nice to have some staff that was from Ireland. It was not always easy to talk to the staff.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and the food was first class. The hotel was spotlessly clean and exceptional value for money. We both highly recommend this hotel. . .
Lovely big room newly refurbished nice bathroom and free toiletries. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cooked to order and the food was delicious. Hotel in great location.
would like to have had fresh fruit at breakfast but that is not a major problem.
everything was fab
