Spacious accommodation in an excellent location
Carpets have definitely seen better days, lots of light bulbs didn't work, kitchen was quite sparsely stocked with cutlery and crockery
generous space very comfortable lovely views good facilities good location great value very clean
no wifi broadband shower a bit hit & miss
-Great scenery & incredibly restful. -Enjoyed the peace & quiet as the tide rose and fell -Location close, but not too close to town -Helpful caretaker -Modern house with all mod cons & plenty of space -Since we understand what self catering means, we weren't expecting toilet rolls, teabags or towels...we had them with us...2 large supermkts in Kenmare.
-A few light blubs short, but sorted by caretaker -Could do with more closet space
New convenient modern accomodation
Absolutely nothing in the house when we arrived Not even a toilet roll. No welcome drink eg a tea bag We arrived late at night and had to try and find somewhere open to buy toilet rolls. The towels we ordered were not there so we could not have a shower that night or in the morning. Having rang the agent we finally got towels at 11.30 am the day after we arrived. All in all not a welcoming place.
Quiet, clean, excellent location, lovely town, great gateway to ring of kerry.
The houses are nicely located, clean. The large kitchen and utility with dishwasher. Estate was clean and well mantained.
Larger sign at entrance would help, it should be explained that free to air TV does not include Irish channels. In house i stayed in only 5/6 of each plates and cup supplied for a house supposed to cater for upto 6 people and with dishwasher provided this is not adequate. I was disappointed with upstairs layout, due to height of ceilings in 2 of the bedrooms and main bathroom(would want be under five foot six not to hit head off ceilings). These houses are at least a 15 minute comfortable walk from the town and not flat either as stated on this site.
Small details like the communication between the caretaker and the booking office. Thanks to Alex we could enjoy the holiday, because our names did not appear in the list. Anyway, was not a real problem and was sorted in the moment. This is not a complain, its more a suggestion.
Very spacious and the location is amazing - the estate is situated down by the water. The house is very clean and had almost everything that we needed for an enjoyable weekend.
We were told to be ready to leave on Sunday morning at 11 however the caretaker did not show up until 12. We found it quite bad that for only a weekend stay we were asked to check out at such an early hour considering we only arrived on Friday evening at seven. Also, just to note that the showers were quite weak and there was not any shower mats available - small things but quite essential and essential requirement.
Lovely location. Holiday homes very comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay.
Kenmare is a beautiful town and the area where the cottages are does have some lovely views over the estuary, but you do need to request a river view if you want to benefit from this. We were lucky to be given one of these but wouldn't have known before seeing the site. The bedrooms are comfortable as is the sitting area, although there are only 5 easy seats in a house for 6!
The booking in times aren't easy if you are coming from a long way. The facilities are very sparse, (not just the furniture)e.g. 5 mugs in a house for 6. There is literally nothing in the cottage, not even a J cloth and a small amount of cleaning materials. The whole place was quite shoddy which we were told was because it was the end of the season, e.g. the carpets were stained, one dining chair broken, the shower door was coming away from the wall. It is quite a way out of the town so transport is essential.
Really liked how close it was to the town as we were competing in the triathlon on sat and were able to cycle down easily. Very spacious and were able to store equipment with ease inside house. Nice clean facilities.
There were a few stains on the carpets that weren't nice to look at. Also slanted ceilings in the bathroom were super awkward especially as we were all tall.
quiet size of house price
not enough dishes (plates, cups, wine opener) charge for electrical per night not accepting certain credit cards
