See above we felt the reception was not as expected when we arrived the receptionist was not very friendly and we had to wait some time at the desk before the staff member returned as she disappeared as we came in the door. There was not hot water in the room ! lights were broken along with the tv remote, you could here every sound above us, after complaining about the hot water we got moved to the new wing of the hotel there the rooms were much better but again lights were broken and bulbs missing window were dirty and door of wardrobe was falling off !

I stayed with friend from work as we attended a collegues wedding. The staff where friendly and polite our room was located near the party which was great. Our meal was beautiful and breakfast the next morning was well presented. I enjoyed my stay at Jackson and so did my friends the hotel was quirky and cosy. I would have no bother recomending to other friends

Slightly cold at nite as all windows on the corridors where wide open. Found myself closing them on route to my room.

Good size room with comfy bed in the new part of the hotel, nice atmosphere in the bar with reasonable prices.

Very badly managed staff serving breakfast causing chaotic service , rooms not cleaned very well during stay, baby cot requested at time of booking but not provided - after 5 &1/2 hrs we got a playpen without a mattress for our baby to sleep in!! eventually they got a mattress for it, we found the whole waiting time totally unacceptable as it meant our 14 month old baby never got to bed until 10pm 2 & 1/2hrs later than normal. We had 3 rooms for our party, all with lovely Jacuzzi's in the rooms but unfortunately out of the 3 only 1 worked, this was reported and we were told somebody would come to have a look but during our 3 day stay no-one came! The staff seem quite willing to do what you want when you ask but unfortunately it never gets done, this let's the experience of staying in this hotel down!

Lack of cleanliness.

We had stayed at Jackson's several years ago before the new extension was built and the facilities, room and service were excellent. Staff very friendly

This time we had booked for two nights on arrival we were told we were being upgraded to the new part of the hotel (great we thought) - location very remote (long walk), didn't feel part of the hotel, not up to standard we had experienced before (seemed smaller, bathroom not clean, stains on carpet and stain on duvet). We ate in the Bristro - surroundings very pleasant and quiet (approx 10-12 people in) but service very slow even though very few guests. Partner very displeased with the whole experience, ended up a very expensive stay as we paid £165 for 2 nights and only stayed one.(arrived 7.30pm Sat and left 9.20 am Sun (due to poor housekeeping we didn't use bath and it put us off using hotel's other facilities - spa etc.

The staff - very pleasant. Food - very good.

Our room was dark, very old fashioned & very cold until reception finally turned the heat on & not of a standard we are used to, it needs to be refurbished. (I am in my 50s). If we stay again, we would ask for one of the newer rooms & if unavailabe we wouldn't stay.

I loved the friendliness of the staff, the unobtrusiveness of coming and going as we pleased.The beautiful walk along the river at the rear of the Hotel.Spending my husbands money in McElhinney's. Alfie the resident Red Setter greeting me ,my husband and daughter,having lovely meals presented to me and no clearing up. And the friendliness of the staff including the leisure centre staff, the cooks and the cleaners who all appeared to have a genuine interest in each individual family staying with them. Will certainly stay again !!!!!!!!

very good but room standard was just fair.

It was good location and plenty of parking. The breakfast was good and the service in the bistro was good and the staff very polite

While room was spacious it was very basic bed was uncomfortable hard to regulate the heat of the water in the shower we discovered after using showers that there was no water coming out of the hot water tap in the sink we only stayed for one night but not sure whether I would have liked to stay for a second

Paid €49, it was ultimately worth about €40. The hotel is quite old fashioned, room 168 is big but was also cold. It is spotless clean, but needs doing up. I found the staff on all occasions very inattentive. Breakfast was also not nice. However the location is perfect. Next time I would pay the extra €10 for the other hotel in the town.

The staff were very helpful

On the weekend that we booked in, I do not believe that the hotel was full at all, yet we were placed right next door to a family. We were a group of 3 girls, and received complaints about noise. I just felt that they could have had the cop on, not to put us there, but instead to give us a room where they could be sure there could be no problems

My Only complaint was that the roon and hotel was freezing I had to ask 3 times to get heating on . I also think the wooden floors made it very noisey
