hospitalty very good food great a really nice place to stay will be back again
The fact there was 4 of us staying an we where put in a room with two beds! The room was dirty...4 of us in a room with 2 towels asked for towels to be brought up to the r
Room cold on arrival but heating put on when mentioned to staff
The staff were excellent. They really went out of their way to help with all our requests.
Disappointed that the leisure facilities were not open. Breakfast finished at 10. We would have preferred it to be a little later.
Decor. Room was clean and comfortable.
On enquiring about use of swimming pool we were told no problem (my partner looked in as we were going out for the morning and it was being used by other hotel guests) on our return early afternoon we went to reception to say we would be using it only to be told there was a burst pipe and it would be indefinitley out of use (we were offerred no apology) this was very disappointing as one of the incentives for us booking our stay at the hotel was the use of these facilities. Two days later into our stay we met another couple of guests in the hotel and they were told on enquiring about the swimming pool that it was out of use as it was being cleaned (no mention of a burst pipe). I am dis- satisfied that there seems to be conflicting stories not to mention no attempt apologise or even a small matter of compensation, particularly when this was the attraction for us on booking the hotel.
Service at reception warm fire in lobby relaxed atmosphere. Nice room.
Attitude of chef at 11am when i asked for a sandwich looking at the clock. Couldnt get shower to produce hot water
We could not stay longer(purely our own doing)
The receptionist was fantastic and very bubble.to be honest..front of hotel was still very festive.loved the open fire..
Well first room was gorgeous.but we had to be moved as someone had not checked the room and found underwear on the floor..
Customer service very bad. 1 star hotel.
bed was ok
i requested a room in the new part of the building and never got it. You couldnt justify paying the same price for a night as those who stayed in the new rooms. The room we stayed in wasnt great, the floor boards made too much noise and you could hear everything going on outside and other rooms. wouldnt stay in old part again
the hotel is not as good as it was on earlier trips bedroom cold bathroom rundown and the noise from room next door partied all nite and nothing was done about it hotel overall very cold
Function room was lovely
Bedrooms were awful.unclean, old decor, dated fixtures and fittings. One roof light for whole room. Comparing price I paid to other hotels I felt I was robbed. Would not recommend to family/friends .
Very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of activities for children.
Small cutbacks in bedroom - ie no soap, no shower gel etc. (except for dispensers on wall which is not the same thing) No biscuits with tea in bedroom.
Comfortable, friendly, good food and service. The Christmas decor made for a cosy atmosphere too.
The room was very old & smelt musky unfortunatley
They had a Santa and Mrs Claus for the children who really enjoyed it
We have stayed at Jacksons quite a few times and have always enjoyed our stay but this time they seemed to have a problem with their heating, there was none and we had no hot water either, when I told reception he said they had a lot of complaints about the hotel being freezing.
good parking, good breakfast,
4pm check in, tired décor, laminate floor in the bedroom, bathroom shabby, small towels, disinterested staff, requested an ironing board and iron on arrival, finally turned up after second request the following morning, ironing board cover thin and shabby, had expected better from an hotel that came with a reputation for quality.
hotel was very festive.from outside.and at reception.was really nice.room was clean and bed was comfy.
There was loads of damp.in bathroom and out side bathroom door.needed a bit of painting done.the chairs in bedroom very dated.apart from that it was nice.
The wedding venue was lovely and that's what my review is based on -
Food & Staff were excellent
pool could have done with an upgrade Hot Tub & Steam Room out of action
phoned to let them now we would not be arriving until Saturday, asked them to keep our room as we would be paying for the two nights when we arrived they had let our room go, we had to wait a while until they found another room.when we ordered dinner another long wait, apologies from chef, and when it did arrived they were one main course short. On departure i pointed this out as we had to pay upfront when we arrived, but none of the receptionists would take responsibility of any refund. Very disappointed
It was a big room the bed was comfy and warm would stay again !!!
Tv was old and remote didn't work
Good food good location and friendly people
Hotel was cold even though there was heating.it was quite a big hotel to heat properly maybe??
Dusty room Bed against wall small size of room Phone not working to ring reception Time we waited to check in Glass above door letting light in at night Spider web in bathroom Musty old smell in old part of hotel our room was in.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Everything about it is so wrong from when we checked in until we left. The worst part about the hotel is the poor standard of the room. Walking through the hotel is like walking through time. The room itself was like something from murder she wrote. The room only had plug in lamps and no ceiling lighting. The decor was really old and dirty. We had a bowl of fruit in the room. The bananas were pure black and had obviously been there for weeks. Their was a recliner chair in my room which was meant to be white. It was really dirty. The sofa in the room had a large stain in it. I was at a wedding in the nearby Villa Rose Hotel and stayed in Jacksons as it was cheaper. Their was lots of guests who also stayed. We were all charged different rates. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.
