Very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of activities for children.
Small cutbacks in bedroom - ie no soap, no shower gel etc. (except for dispensers on wall which is not the same thing) No biscuits with tea in bedroom.
Comfortable, friendly, good food and service. The Christmas decor made for a cosy atmosphere too.
The room was very old & smelt musky unfortunatley
They had a Santa and Mrs Claus for the children who really enjoyed it
We have stayed at Jacksons quite a few times and have always enjoyed our stay but this time they seemed to have a problem with their heating, there was none and we had no hot water either, when I told reception he said they had a lot of complaints about the hotel being freezing.
good parking, good breakfast,
4pm check in, tired décor, laminate floor in the bedroom, bathroom shabby, small towels, disinterested staff, requested an ironing board and iron on arrival, finally turned up after second request the following morning, ironing board cover thin and shabby, had expected better from an hotel that came with a reputation for quality.
hotel was very festive.from outside.and at reception.was really nice.room was clean and bed was comfy.
There was loads of damp.in bathroom and out side bathroom door.needed a bit of painting done.the chairs in bedroom very dated.apart from that it was nice.
The wedding venue was lovely and that's what my review is based on -
Food & Staff were excellent
pool could have done with an upgrade Hot Tub & Steam Room out of action
phoned to let them now we would not be arriving until Saturday, asked them to keep our room as we would be paying for the two nights when we arrived they had let our room go, we had to wait a while until they found another room.when we ordered dinner another long wait, apologies from chef, and when it did arrived they were one main course short. On departure i pointed this out as we had to pay upfront when we arrived, but none of the receptionists would take responsibility of any refund. Very disappointed
It was a big room the bed was comfy and warm would stay again !!!
Tv was old and remote didn't work
Good food good location and friendly people
Hotel was cold even though there was heating.it was quite a big hotel to heat properly maybe??
Dusty room Bed against wall small size of room Phone not working to ring reception Time we waited to check in Glass above door letting light in at night Spider web in bathroom Musty old smell in old part of hotel our room was in.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Everything about it is so wrong from when we checked in until we left. The worst part about the hotel is the poor standard of the room. Walking through the hotel is like walking through time. The room itself was like something from murder she wrote. The room only had plug in lamps and no ceiling lighting. The decor was really old and dirty. We had a bowl of fruit in the room. The bananas were pure black and had obviously been there for weeks. Their was a recliner chair in my room which was meant to be white. It was really dirty. The sofa in the room had a large stain in it. I was at a wedding in the nearby Villa Rose Hotel and stayed in Jacksons as it was cheaper. Their was lots of guests who also stayed. We were all charged different rates. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.
the staff were excellent, a very warm welcome, extremely helpful and polite. I have a great dinner, very good quality dinner, again the staff were and management were very attentive. I left something behind in my room, which they kindly returned which I am extremely grateful to them.
Lovely room very large, great location
When we got to the hotel they didn't have my booking reservation
Handy to town centre
Old part of hotel very very shabby. New part run down. Hotel like a maze.Restaurant for breakfast disgusting including chipped crockery etc etc etc.Not enough space to write it all down. Don't know how they have four star rating. Needs refurbished.
Service at breakfast two young girls just wanted to close service down as it was near end of breakfast
Very friendly and helpful staff, great hotel.
Hospitable welcoming staff ... Beautiful meals in bistro.. Young lady that served us was soooo knowlegeable friendly and very competent... Chef created gorgeous food... Staff always pleasant ... I had sense that nothing was a bother to them if you needed any assistance.. Lovely warmth to hotel environment... I also utilised swimming pool... Really clean good changing room facilities.. Overall i thorougly enjoyed our stay ..
The hotel is very comfortable but a bit "tired".A lovely turf fire in reception is very welcoming and so were the staff.
We couldn't open the door of the first room we were given as the key wouldn't work. the plate under the handle was missing.
Jacksons is a lovely homely hotel...
Wedding reception hall Reception food
Staff not up to speed with check in and service Rabbit warren bedrooms located all over the hotel and difficult to find. Fixtures and fittings tired and dated(sink in room cracked)
Food, Room(eventually). Friendly staff. River beside the hotel
Overflowing gutter outside the window. (Rained all weekend)
We were at Jackson's for a wedding,, the wedding was in a newer part of the hotel and was gorgeous.food and cocktails lovely, bar staff were great.
Queue at reception to check in, after a long distance travelled had to spend at least 40mins in a queue to check in.. room was very old fashioned, def needs refurbished. Room only ,, too expensive for condition of room.
