Staff was nice. Room was really nice (when we finally got the right one) for the price. Walking distance to the shops. Really near airport busstops! A little crowded at breakfast. First room was not the one we had paid for and the second room was really hot. Third was ok, and we got to keep the room longer. Take your own towels with you!

Well-equipped hostel, but individual reading lights may have been useful as we had to stumble around in the dark so as not to wake the others up. Breakfast included and plenty of food provided. No lockers in the rooms! There is a locker room downstairs, but this is really just a left luggage room with cages which have to be rented. We would have liked to have known this beforehand. Also, it is right beside the train station (not very central, but just a short walk) and there is lots of noise from the traffic.

room is really clean and comfortable. the room i had stayed was quiet and independent so that I had felt very relaxed during the night. the room is a kind of like a hotel staying with some other people. to use wifi I was in the ground floor and the place is quite relaxing with some comfortable sofas and the tv. it was almost perfect except the shower room. it was very bad. hot water never came out from the shower so I gave up taking a shower. I stayed there just for one night so I could endure.

The room was big and comfortable. The heating was more than adequate for a really cold three-night stay. Since this is a really big hostel, the common spaces are busy and noisy.

Good location Although it is a hostel, the price is not inexpensive. I believe one can get better choice in Dublin at the same price.

We stayed in a double en suite. And this was the third time we visited Jacobs Inn. Room was very spacious, clean, bed very comfortable, bathroom facilities new and clean, free towels provided. Night-sleep calm without busy traffic and shouting crowds down the windows. Security in this hostel is great. Option to leave a luggage for 2 eur per day. Location perfect - just 2 minutes walk from central bus station (busaras). I would say this hostel is better than some 3 star hotels.

Well located Bath towels in our room quiet (no noise from the other rooms or on the floor) TV (but the quality wasn't great) A good feeling (comfortable, clean, friendly staff, good atmosphere) No hair-dryer in the room WiFi only on the groundfloor (would be great in the rooms as well) Breakfast: maybe you could propose another kind of bread, not only toast

Staff was really friendly and the rooms were very clean, (cheaper) bus tickets back to the airport could be bought at the reception, there's a large communal kitchen where one has the ability to cook a good meal, and the location is perfect: Talbot street and O'Connellstreet around the corner. Temple bar is a bit further away though (walking 20 mins). The heating did not work throughout the weekend we stayed. We told this to the reception and they said it would be fixed, but this didn't happen. This was however the only negative experience we had during our stay in the hostel.

The staff was exceptionally kind. Really, nice people. Perhaps the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. I imagine a cot in a WWII military trench providing more comfort. Also, JIH is a weird scene.

Hotel is 15-20 minutes far from Temple Bar on foot. We have waited 20-25 minutes in check-in que. The bed was not very comfortable. Think twice if you are a couple and want to stay in a private room, you can find much better options for 5-10€ higher per night/room.

The only good things I could think of was the location close to a luas station, availability of safe box in the room and the shuttle service to the airport at a very good price. All the rest was completely awful. I stayed at the Jacobs for one night only and I chose it for the price, location and supposed availability of free wi fi in the whole building but, in fact, the wi fi would not even work in the common areas. It was complete mess! I couldn't connect either with my smart phone, nor with my notebook (macbook) nor with the computers of the hostel (for which you had to pay). When I complaint about this to the front desk people they just told me I should be patient, that that usually happened (wi fi not working!) so they suggested me to go to my room and go back to the hall in half an hour, which I did but still wouldn't get a connection. After complaining again one of the front desk attendants suggested, in a not very polite form, that I should go to a cyber cafe in the corner. I said that I was paying for free wi fi, so they told me to go to the Isaacs Inn hostel (from the same company) a few blocks from there to ask for wi fi, which I did, but wouldn't get connection there either, and was not the only one with this problem. The quality of the wi fi was extremely weak and the front desk people weren't very helpful with this. Besides this, the place looked old, the lift had a large broken mirror, the room was very noisy (you could hear the noise from the corridor and from the train lane just beside the building. The tv channels signal was not good, and every channel looked "rainy". The worst thing was the shower, because you had to press a knob to get the water flowing but it would last 26 seconds! (I counted them!) So, if you wanted to wash your hair, for instance, you would have to be pressing the knob once and again, and again, and again until you finished. The hair dryer would also work for a few seconds only, and then you had to wait to use it again, and again, and again, until you got your hair dried. The relation price-quality was the worst. Ok, it's a backpackers place, but even though, they should give what they offer, such as the wi fi.
