Location near connolly station Day staff was great and helpful
Wi-fi didn't work properly No wi-fi in rooms
Easy to reach from airport
When you are booking you are handed a receipt which we threw away but was nearly not allowed in that evening as the receipt is a counterpart to your key card which we were not told. It is expensive for a double room, more than the hilton for far less! Also, people shushing you in the passageways when you just talking was a bit unnecessary. Staff were average, not too friendly and helpful... Not sure I would stay here again.
I had a great time, you're staff was very nice and, they work really really hard to keep you're place up.. For me being disabled they where a great help . Thank you.
You had no fruits . At breakfast .
Location is nice unless you want to be right next to the party area (20 min walk south). All in all, just fair place for a hostel
They over-booked our room, sending a person to our private room. Very unpleasant surprise to find someone in your fully paid bed. It wasn't nice to the fellow traveler either (obviously).
ensuite shower toilet
Everything is very good.
The hostel is quite ok. It is clean, in good location. There iron and lock room exists. Beds are good. Convenient system with door lockers by cards.
- Strange system in shower when I needed to push button every 10 sec - No Internet in rooms - Could be quiter - No shampoo in shower and soap only near washbasin
There is no a private place or library to carry out your personal work like reading or writing.
The beds were really comfortable, the room was really clean and the staff was great.
They didn't have wi-fi in the bedrooms, only in the common areas. But even in the common areas, the speed of the connection was awful. I tried several times to make a skype call and it was impossible.
I was delighted to find Jacob's Inn friendly, clean, comfortable. All my travelling needs were met. Also I found the other travellers friendly and very considerate. Best features: Staff, comfy bed, quiet, luggage storage, breakfast, internet access. And sauna facility a few doors down.
I went based on a review that said "clean" and it was. Breakfast was simple - toast and cornflakes and if you got there too late the staff would get you some bread. Location is right by a supermarket (supervalu), Connolly station and is easy to get to from the airport. Also walking distance to The Church and Temple Bar. Keith (our tour guide) was awesome on our free city tour yesterday - he knew heaps about all of the places he showed us and kept it interesting with stories. Don't know his name, but the guy on the desk yesterday morning was extremely helpful with helping me figure out how to get to Kilcock and Kilbeheny (even though he'd never heard of the place).
The WiFi is free, but rubbish. It only works downst in the communal living areas and disconnects constantly. There were about 3 wall sockets in my 12 bed dorm, making it impossible to charge your phone in the rooms. This means that you have to sit downstairs in the dining room, but you get kicked out of there just before midnight. If you have important things such as booking tickets, you will be better to pay for Internet as it cuts out before you have time to confirm your booking. (I spoke to other travelers and they had all of the same problems, so it wasn't just me) If a good night's sleep is a priority, splash out and get a private room or earplugs.
Lots of other travellers, many thing to do and see close to hostel
Not the cleanest hostel, also people were snoring so I couldn't sleep
Comfortable room, free breakfast, very secure, and very friendly staff
Nothing because this place was awesome
-free breakfast -very close to the bus terminal -well-equipped kitchen
-mostly young people who wants to party. too loud even late at night -taking a shower is a challenge, you have to keep pressing the knob and hardly any hot water
- Ask whatever you want at the reception, they will be friendly and try to help you - You get a paper with your roomnumber written on it - in other hostels you just get a card and have to remember it - breakfast was good - in the city center - nice luggage-room
- cold water in the shower - no reading lamp on the beds
1. Clean and comfortable and convenient.(card key) 2. Good atmosphere. 3. Spacious room and Simple building structure.( you do not have to lost the way in building.) 4. Very good location.
Location is close to many attractions, including temple bar. The hostel is very clean and tidy. It has a wonderful free walking tour that collects you at hostel. Easy to meet other travelers staying at hostel due to common areas.
Only one washroom in the do
One of the best hostels I've ever been to. The have a huge kitchen for the guests, the commom areas are great, the terrace has a fantastic vies of the city, the bed was confortable and clean.
There could be more bathrooms, it can be a little hard to use the toilet or take a shower in a room with 1 bathroom for 12 people. There are no sockets in the bedroom, having to go to the commom area to charge the phone is not cool
-the staff are friendly and helpful -spacious and well-equipped kitchen
-taking a shower is a challenge, had to keep pressing the knob to keep the water flowing and the pressure of warm water is very weak! -you hear through your window the loud crowd on the street
There was a public toilet and shower. It is convenient to take a shower when your roommates are all sleeping.
The kitchen was no big enough for the users there.
Friendly staff, Location, Comfort, Cleanliness, Safety at Jacobs Inn, Breakfast, Walking Tours and much more. Simple but adequate
The hostel is well situated near the bus station and one of the train stations, and you're a five to ten minute walk from the maun tourist area, with lots of cheap and not-so-cheap bars and restaurants around. The staff is engaging and helpful, readily providing advice at the reception (open 24/7). The dorm rooms are spacious and have a bathroom. The kitchen has free tea and coffee all day long and breakfast is free too.
The wifi, which only works in the reception and catering area, is difficult to log on to and requires you togo through a three step procedure involving a badly set-up web page and liking the establishment on Facebook. This has to be repeated every time you wish to use the internet, and it's particularly irritating if you're using a smartphone. The magnetic cards can have issues, and the laundry is a bit on the pricy side: 3€ for a wash, 3€ for a dry and 50 cents for two washing tablets.
Pricey for the size. Minimal breakfast
The location was very easy to find and very close to Dublin city center. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hostel provides walking tours and pub crawls which were excellent and a great way to meet people. Great for a few night stay, but in the large dorms its busy so difficult to get a good nights sleep.
I stayed in an 8-beds room for one night. The hostel was very safe as you used your room-card even for taking the lift.
The common area in reception and the restaurant where breakfast was served were not in good condition. In addition, the staff especially during the afternoon and night was not exactly what you call "polite" and helpful"
