The River Lee Hotel  

Not really ideal for familes with children unless very young. With a 10 and a 12 year old sharing a room it wasn't big enough. They weren't allowed in the pool on there own. A fridge in the room would have helped. More for couples, or weekend breaks. Very expensive for a week with no meals included. When we did eat in the hotel bar and the resturant it was excellent food and service. Nice hotel, probably wrong choice for what we wanted, but a lovely stay in Cork. Also on your web site you say DVD in room, there wasn't, not in any rooms, only a CD player, very disappointed kids!

I traveled through Ireland and Scotland with five friends for a period of two weeks. We stayed at a different hotel each night, including a castle and luxury suites. Everyone agreed that this was the best hotel of the trip because the beds and covers were soooo comfortable. It was the first time everyone got a good night's rest. The mattresses had extra cushion and were double the size of the rest of the places we stayed at. They were not lop sided and you we did not feel any springs. I actually meant to take off the sheets to see what brand and model the mattress was so I could buy one fore home but I forgot. Going forward, I plan on inquiring about hotel mattresses every time I book a hotel room. It makes an incredible difference! I don't remember noticing whether or not the comfy mattresses were highlighted on their website or not, but they should advertise this! I also loved the view of the river/city from the elevator lobby area on each floor. I wish we had spent more time at the hotel to take advantage of that area as well as the bar. It looked pretty cool.

This hotel is definitely one of the best I have ever stayed in. It is in a great location just a short walk from the city center, free private parking and absolutely spotlessly clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and have a good size even for a ex. standard room. The breakfast was perfect a massive spread for all tastes with a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere this hotel in a nutshell is perfect and everything you find here is of the highest standard and quality. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cork.

Attention to detail. Hot towel on arrival and comp bottle of water on checkout. Very friendly helpful staff and the breakfast was amazing. Loved the decor and the scenic lift. Car parking stress free. Totally great hotel. Fifth floor best for view.

Only slight whinge is that the leisure club was noisy with a water aerobics class and music goin on and quite a few kids.

Enjoyed our stay immensely! Cons were pool required pool cap and a bit of a walk to the city centre. Other than that -- excellent!!

The River Lee Hotel is within easy walking distance of Cork City Centre and is located in a quiet area of the city. On arrival and throughout our stay at the hotel we found the level of service excellent and all staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel offers all you would expect from a four star hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to stay in a good hotel where you can relax and feel at home.

very professional and courtious staff. Room was spacious,clean and had all the facilities eg tea/coffee, hairdryer,t.v, c.d.player etc. bar food was second to none and breakfast in restaurant was great with plenty of choice. Location is very central and easy to find. car park free to residents. overall experience was excellent

Very plush, ideal location, executive lounge was a fantastic option for use of guests staying on that floor. Staff were very helpful and made you want to come back and visit again.

Location of our room (334) close to an inside corner with other part of hotel building meant that we had no privacy in half of the room as there was no lace curtain. When we went to the pool late on Saturday morning, there was no staff at pool reception so we could not go for a swim!
