Very friendly, lovely room and great house. Location handy just off M18. Much nicer experience than a hotel and not owned by NAMA!! Very much luxury B&B with all the positives of same. More visible signage at entrance

Pauline and Ron were excellent hosts. Ron told us all about his family lineage (he's a direct decedent of Brian Boru) and even drove us around the area to see Dromoland Castle and a few other sites in the area. The property and the house are absolutely beautiful. (The house looks like a mini castle.) Our room was very large and extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed meeting Ruby, the extremely friendly dog who roams the grounds (outdoors only) and her sidekick Bugsby. Highly recommended if you're in the area. It was our first stop after arriving at Shannon airport; we didn't want to drive too far after an overnight flight and it was only about 15 minutes away. No complaints at all about Kells Country House. The only thing worth noting is that there is not a lot to do in the immediate area. The B&B is definitely in the countryside--which is lovely--but you'll have to drive to go out to dinner, etc.

Ron and Pauline were very friendly and helpful. They always asked if there was anything else that they could do for us. The breakfast was delicious, especially Ron's omlette. I did not like the surprise of having to pay in cash as requested as they were having problems with their bank.

beautiful, spacious home in gorgeous countryside, postcard perfect views over green hills and river with horses grazing in the foreground, large, lovely room with upscale linens, delicious breakfast at dining room table allowing for interesting conversation with other guests BUT the very best part of Kells Country House is the astonishing warmth and welcome we received from the owners. Ron and Pauline set the highest standard for B&B ownership. While in their home, we were not customers, clients, or guests. We were their friends. The result is that they now have an open invitation to stay with us at our US vacation home any time they come "across the pond." There is nothing not to like. Oh, upon our departure they declined to part with their wonderful dog, Ruby, who reclined on her back in the driveway with paws pedaling in the air, waiting to be scratched. We promised to treat her well and send them photos with regular updates, but negotiations stalled at that point! (If you're reading this, Ron and Pauline, give Ruby a good scratch from us!) : )

Everything was 5star!! Ron collected us to show the way and took us for a bite and a pint in the evening as part of 'the service' . The breakfast was delicious and the room very large and comfy. The view across the lawn towards the river was awesome! A real country retreat! Thanks Pauline and Ron for a great stay in your lovely home! Not even one thing to mention here! We recommend everyone to stay here!

Proprietors Ron and Pauline are exceptional in their professional service to their guests. Attention to detail is of the highest order and nothing is left to chance. All rooms are exquisitely finished with one room, particularly welcoming and rewarding. Ron was very accommodating in offering to drive us to different venues and offering to collect us later. If you have reason to stay in this area of the Burren and explore Dromoland and Bunratty Castle and the Bunratty Folk Park , don't miss out on the opportunity to sojourn here. You will find it, if you count twenty houses on your right after the Trading Post . It has Kells written on a black plint.

Well, of course the owners were great. They gave us very good information on day trips around County Claire. Their home was very unique and very comfortable. The view from the house was amazing. Even though The Kells house seemed a little remote at first, it was very close to the main motor way. We liked everything about it.

Everything! Traveling with our three grown children and son-in-law to Ireland for a week, we definitely wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast to experience life in the Irish countryside. Ron and Paulline were so accommodating and such wonderful people. They assisted us with finding our way to Cliffs of Moher and Galway, gave recommendations for eating establishments, as well as made reservations for our sons to play golf at Dromoland. The rooms were very nice and the showers were amazing!! We enjoyed having an 'Irish home' at the the end of the long day where we could kick back, play cards and enjoy the other guests. Each morning we had a breakfast selection to jump start our day. We booked Kells Country House hoping it would be a nice place to stay, and we were completely satisfied with our experience. We would definitely recommend it and would like to visit again!

Our stay at Kells Country House was perfect. The owners Ron and Pauline were gracious hosts that made us feel welcome in their home. Ron went out of his way to show us his home and entertain our 13 year old son. We walked the grounds of their property (w/ great views) with their friendly dog Ruby. Would definitely recommend this place to friends! The only negative part was finding the house. It is set behind another house on the main road, just look out for a small, black & white sign post marked "Kells."
