The infamous River Moy is minutes away and there are numerous brown trout lakes such as Callow Lakes and Lough Conn. For golfers, Swinford hosts its own 9-hole parkland course. The surrounding area offers Castlebar golf club, Claremorris golf club, Ballyhaunis golf club and many more.
There is an abundance of history in County Mayo and Kelly's Gateway Hotel is the ideal base for touring Ireland's West. Visit Swinford's famine monument and mass grave, Hennigan's Heritage farm, Michael Davitt's Museum, National Museum of Country Life, Ceide Fields, Foxford Woollen Mills, Knock Shrine and Ballintubber Abbey; all easily accessible from the hotel.

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous during our stay. The breakfast was very tasty and freshly cooked. Evening meals were varied and the portions excellent. Our room was cleaned every day and was warm and inviting. |

The staff were friendly, in a nice unobtrusive way, atmosphere relaxed, no disturbance or noise during the night. the very unimaginative breakfast for anyone who likes an alternative to the cooked breakfast. |

ha, we just went into all of the pubs in swinford and took a day out shopping to castlebar :) pretty quiet town with not much else to do though :( no, but the town was really quiet :S |

Great value but I don't know was it because I was given an attic room which by 6 o'clock in the morning the brightness was coming through, after a nite out wasn't welcoming, staff were friendly, although bar was quite thought there would be music as I was meeting up with a few friends, however would stay again without the attic room. I was given an attic room with a velux window in the roof no blind on it so the room was pure bright by six in the morning, |

Lovely spacious bedroom, and very comfortable bed. Bathroom well equipped. The staff were helpful on reception and in the bar/restaurant were we dined, and a good breakfast the folowing morning. Also parking available at the hotel |

Todo el personal del hotel se han esforzado por hacerme la estancia lo mas agradable posible, ayundadome en todas mis preguntas, a pesar de que yo no hablo inglés, nos entendimos muy bien, y me hicieron sentir como en casa,la habitación era grande y muy comoda. Que al ser un hotel familiar y pequeño no tenia sitios donde divertirte, esta en un pueblo pequeño, donde necesitas el coche para salir a otros sitios, es un hotel para descansar. |

Dem Hotel gegenüber liegt eine Bar die bis morgens um 2 Uhr geöffnet hat. Die Polizei drehte die ganze Nacht Runden. Aber die letzten trunkenen und palavernden Gäste sind erst gegen 4.30 Uhr von dannen gezogen. Für solch eine unruhige Nacht war das Hotel einfach zu teuer. |
