Nice hotel, lovely friendly staff, food we had was very good and served quite quickly.
We didn't really enjoy any of the food.
Building, atmosphere, location, comfort, friendliness, hospitality and good service
The hotel has a lovely comfortable old fashioned feel to it and was very pleasant to relax in. I was on my own but I was given a very nice big room. My buffet breakfast was very nice too.
I would have liked net curtains on my window as I was on the ground floor at the back but had to pull over big curtains for privacy in the daylight.
STAFF, FOOD, POOL
ROOMS A LITTLE SMALL BUT COMFORTABLE
Very pleasant stay ,very accommodating staff, great food, breakfast super, great atmosphere at the bar, good craic ,good value for money, all you needed and expected from a good family run establishment with lots of character and history, great location, short drive to lots of places of interest and surrounding counties, will recommend to all my friends and family
Staff where very friendly and I thought the room was very good .the breakfast was excellent the next morning .for the price I paid I thought it was great value .will def stay again !!!
Staff friendliness of staff Beautiful food Cosy and warm atmosphere Beautiful setting Excellent value
The décor is slightly out dated BUT this adds to the character of the environment which is in keeping with the homely atmosphere existing in the hotel.
Hotel was run down with no dining service other than bar food which was inedible
Comfortable beds, lovely food (dinner and breakfast). Friendly bar. Nice gym/pool. Overall given the quality of the food and comfort of the room this was excellent value for money.
Nice place, Good food, comfortable clean room, friendly and helpful staff.
found it was very good value for money and was very relaxing stay but to be fair we only stayed one night but would def recommend it as a great stop off
nothing really found it home which is rare to find in the hotel business
Never theless the bad points I would stay there again .We had a good deal on the day of booking with the Honeymoon suite, which was nice, However i feel if more business should be attracted a few changes could improve the overall Lodge , keep in line with the characteristics of build and style with the right advise
Breakfast we would rate poor standard that includes the overall presentation including some staff's attitude to service & customer service skills,(not all of them) Hair in the breakfast, Toast facility with numerous toast behind the toast facility piling up , Not safe toasting facility, you can buy toasters that are far safer , breakfast area could do with a little face lift ,fresh up. Tables were not kitted out properly, it appeared that tasks appeared hard work for some staff. Room was nice yet tv was outdated, coffee facilies in the room were not seen too pior arival filled up. Bedroom window was not safe to secure . The above were pointed out to staff in order to improve.
Friendly staff, good food, lovely old house,
Small bedroom (there are bigger refurbished rooms available- request one!) tiny portable tv Smell of cigarette smoke on bedroom hallway
Old style country house
Certain appliances not working in room and a little cold due to single glaze windows
Great little pool and gym, pleasant enough hotel in a good location en route from west coast to Dublin.
We were put in room 6 at the top of the stairs and the staff failed to mention on check-in that there was a private function with live music that night. The sound-proofing was non-existent and it sounded as if we were next door to the room the band was in. Extremely loud music until gone midnight, followed by banging doors and noisy party guests until the small hours. The staff failed to inform us when we booked, or even when we checked in. To be fair, they at least went some way to addressing the terrible night's sleep by not charging us for our evening meal and were apologetic that we couldn't be moved to another room. If you are staying on a Saturday, check whether there is a function on as you may well be disturbed!
The staff of the hotel made the stay for me, Liam the bar man was great at giving advice in places to visit as well as having fun and banter with the kids. My son was sick on the last day of our stay and everyone asked how he was showing genuine concern. The hotel was clean and located well to visitor attractions, we also relaxed and made use of the leisure facilities. An overall excellent relaxing stay.
We were unfortunate to have had no hot water the first morning but it was rectified ASAP.
It was peaceful and great location, staff were very friendly and helpful they was a pool to use. Hotel was quiet their was no disturbance at night on corridors. overall it was perfect to stay at. well worth a visit.
- Staff friendly - Rooms nice (rooms varied quite a bit, our first room wasn't as nice as the second we stayed in) - modern parts of hotel lovely & views from hotel good (again room dependent) - excellent social areas for gatherings & food was beautiful - small swimming pool & gym facilities
- hotel ran out of toilet paper & didn't go to shop 10 minutes down road to buy any!!! - there was a bug going round hotel (20+ people sick) & hotel failed to take any action (ie warn new guests arriving / increase frequency of cleaning door handles etc to prevent spread of infection / have GP come out & check guests
Facilities were great, comfortable with great character.
No hot water at 07:15 for shave and shower!
Pool and leisure facilities, charming main house, beautiful grounds, cosy little bar, power shower in room, exceptional good value (3 people sharing including breakfast for 53 Euro!), absolutely stunning bar food.
One of the breakfast staff was very rude, breakfast tables were slightly dirty and not tended well. Not enough toilet paper in room.
Staff very welcoming and friendly. We had a problem with main light in room and it was sorted within 5 mins of our mentioning it. Nothing was a problem to them. Would deffo recommend it.
Nothing not to like!
Use of the adjacent swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Large rooms with comfortable beds.
Service at the morning breakfast was slow. Very few people and poor atmosphere in the on-site bar
The staff were friendly. It;s a small hotel.
When I asked for low low or flora instead of butter there was no other option. There was no option offered other than fry. I again had to ask for fresh fruit and brown bread. It was available but only after I enquired.
Excellent value for money, staff very helpful and chatty, breakfast average but filled us up and kids were delighted with their first ever stay in a hotel!
No tea bags in room was a bit disappointing but the breakfast made up for it
