Decor in dining room Friendly staff Good location
Very noisey Partys going on in hallways until 5am on saturday night
The location The staff - friendly & helpful. Good size of room/bed better than advertised. the 24 hours helpdesk late check in possible The free visitor guide on arrival. The 2 bars.
The breakfast was overall good but options were a bit limited (if you're not interested in full irish breakfast... otherwise you're good). The cleanliness of the bathroom was ok but not amazing (traces of mould, that small spider that kept us company...)
Great food. Friendly staff Great value
Room was cold Hotel very noisy at 2 / 3 am. Couldn't sleep
All staff bar the bar man was lovely helpful cheerful and kind. Location excellent food was lovely but small portions
Manager of bar was HORRID, MISERABLE, CRANKY, POWER TRIP, such a shame because one bad apple spoils the batch..... And by god was he sour!!!!
To get to your room was like going through a maze. Water lukewarm. Shower head put water everywhere. Staff totally unfriendly. Never asked about our stay or smiled or chatted.I wouldn't be in a hurry to refer or return
One bar man was a decent lad
Almost made to feel a nuisance to be checking us in. The Hotel is catering for hens and stags. For a Couple to spend a night there for a special occasion, its pretty awful and really expensive
Staff very efficient and prompt response to problems we encountered on arrival. Location excellent. Good food.
If you want a quiet relaxing break stay away! Ideal for stag/ hen parties. Bar still very busy at 3am. Smoke alarm had been removed from room and electricity turned off when we arrived. Obvious that previous occupants had been smoking in room. Trying to access hotel late at night virtually impossible. Access at night is through their nightclub but once that closed was left standing outside for 10 mins at 3am after ringing a doorbell which is nearly impossible to see high up on the wall!
Lovely an friendly an room was really nice an clean
Entrance to hotel from car park is too confusing an so many stairs esp if u have a heavy suitcase
Location, location, location. Food was good too.
Too many staff at breakfast getting in the way.
Food was amazing Service was excellent Staff very friendly Ideal location
No complimentary toiletries, had to buy my own. Shower head was a disaster!!
The pub and night club. Staff were lovely
The price was a bit high and didn't include breakfast
good pub great location good breakfast
restaurant food is very poor wouldn't have dinner in there again
The rooms were fab. The staff from reception to bar to house were so good.
Hotei was not far from train station Great value for money Excellent service staff very friendly We would recommend it to travellers
There was not a thing i did not like all good
the noise from the late bar kept us awake.
We liked the location and the food was great great staff
This hotel has a great location in the heart of Kilkenny, ideal for a weekend or a night out. A few minutes walk from the train station, the Kilford also has free car parking at the rear of the hotel.
Only thing I liked was that it was central.
My friend was left outside the hotel at 4.00am in the middle of a load of drunken guys, as you can imagine left her in a very vunerable position. The hotel staff(security) would not let her enter the hotel even though she had her access card and had paid for the room, so myself and a friend had to get out of our beds to go down and let tell security to let her in. If we were not there to go down to her she may have been left out there all night for all we know. Upon check out the next morning my friend vented her frustration to the hotel manager who did not seem to have a clue what to say, his customer service skills were appauling. I was in work on the Monday and got a phone call from the hotel manager claiming he was the security manager in which he was not(why he was lying I don't know, I knew by his accent he was the hotel manager from the day before), he went on to explain what he had seen on the security cameras from that night in which I explained to him that he should be speaking with my friend as it was her that was making the complaint, he then began to raise his voice and get frustrated with me, I told him that he has no customer service skills and that he was approaching the situation completely wrong way in which I then hung up. I can safely say that myself and my friends will never be returning as their attitude and the way they went about the issue was an absolute disgrace. As far as I am concerned as a customer the hotel should have owned up and just apologised for their mistake and not have a go at us!
Very Friendly Staff and Great Location
Parking and nice bar/pub
Very loud, uncomfortable beds and room
.The staff were very nice and helpful and the location was vdery central
i was unable to open the window in the bedroom. THe shower water was coming out all over the floor and very hard to regulate. Also the bar floor seemed to be quite dirty
Authenticity of historic places. Quiet rooms.
Lack of informations at reception desk, about the use of access card for electricity in the room. Lack nof informations about how to acceed the hotel when coming late at night. No direct access to rear parking.
room wasn't very clean we couldn't open window
Location in the city. Spacious room. Interesting decore in resturant and bar.
Being an early riser, didn't like being locked in. Long way to get to room.
