Kilkea Castle is has a beautiful charm to it and offers a cosiness not normally found in hotels. Our stay was tied into a wedding at the hotel which was absolutely faultless. Can't wait to come and stay again A general upgrade to the bathrooms wouldn't go amiss. |

The food was absolutely gorgeous and well worth the money I am nearly 6 months pregnant and did not like the fact that we had to go out through the courtyard and down flights of stairs everytime we wanted to go to our bedroom. Also found the room very hot and could not turn the heating down. |

The hotel rooms were good. The staff were very very friendly and in particular the waiting staff in the restaurant. I was disappointed there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room, I would suggest a sofa be put into the sitting room that in turn could double up as a sleeping area as the double bed is quiet small. |

The castle and grounds were absolutely beautiful. We went in late January and the hotel was very quiet - we felt like Lord and Lady of the manor! The staff were very helpful and the dinner was fantastic. I was surprised to find a castle with a swimming pool and gym! Our bathroom was a little shabby and not up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel, however it was perfectly functional and really a lot better than we should expect in a 12th century castle! |
