i found nothing good about this place, i wonder who gave it 3 stars, very cold congested rooms, poor lights, poor service, one man show, we had to wait ages to check in as there was nobody in the reception. once we saw the room we didn't waste any time to check out and find a much better place. i wont even recommend this place to my enemies...........
Nothing wouldn, t return , bathroom was filthy , no bar or food available , felt like it was about to close down
Comfortable bed. Nice room. Nice walk along by the river close by. Close to the city. I did not use the WiFi but it was there if I needed it.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Distance from the town
Very friendly owner who carried my very heavy suitcase upstairs, was very smiley and chatty and helpful. I will definitely stay there again.
everything, friendly barman nice and quite and relaxing,
the breakfast would love the full lrish
Room very comfortable,clean and spacious
Although we got a ground floor twin room, we could not get a walk-in shower. Both of us are disabled and found it difficult to get into the bath to have a shower.
The cosiness, the comfort, value for money and the owner was a gent
No bath in room and the music from the bar below was really loud we couldn't hear the tv, but that wouldn't turn us off from staying again
Location was good. Friendly reception when we arrived.
1. Tray breakfast - left in our room at some stage during the evening - nothing covered! Cereal, milk, fruit juice - all wide open! Very poor. 2. Our room was located directly above the Bar. There was a party in the bar that night with loud music. I eventually had to ring through to reception at 1am to ask when it would finish !! Note - I had informed the hotel that we had a very early start the following morning - so why place us near the bar/party ?? Again, very poor
Very friendly and welcoming. Rooms clean, wifi ok - a nice basic hotel - just a bit too far to walk into town.
Showers only no baths.
starting with a cold breakfast, did>nt feel welcome, told to have meal in town before returning back. nothing geared towards guests. 2nd morn full breakfast was not on offer
Room was warm.
At least 6months dust/fluff under both beds also empty whiskey bottle under double bed. You confirmed that room would b ready at 12. Arrived at 12.35 and room wasnt ready. Floor was left wet and had to stand on towel to get ready fr Wedding.Had to pay on arrival.
The bar was good and hotel was quiet and clean.
Breakfast time was 9 to 10 on Saturday and Sunday, which was too late for us and on Monday 8 to 9.30 which suited us but no cooked breakfast just continental with optional fried or boiled eggs. We paid for 3 nights b and b and only had 1 breakfast
I enjoy our stay ther the staf were very helpfull and nice
Have notting bad to say about the hotel
Easy access to hospital, quick taxi service and helpful staff.
Friendly and helpful staff. Free Car Parking??. Clean rooms. Excellent powerful shower..The breakfast was just plenty.
The fact I couldn't stay another night and that I was Charged €2 for paying with my Credit card...This actually ruined my opinion about the hotel. Such a pity. But I guess it evened itself out for not having to pay the €2 fee for parking.
Nice quiet hotel
The breakfast wasnt great. We went for breakfast early but the food looked like it was cooked ages the rashers were hard and it wasnt very hot.
We just stayed for 1 night and everything was great, we were really satisfied!!!
The bed was unbelievably comfortable. The location. Rate of the room included B&B. The feel of the hotel was nice - one man running the show.
Breakfast was only okay. We had breakfast about 10am & you knew the food had been sitting there for the previous hour. I had sausage, white pudding (cold) beans, bacon, toast which you had to do yourself & you had to guess how it worked while staff watched from behind the counter. I checked in about 8pm & there was no one at the desk, my key was left out on the counter top with a post it stuck to it with my name, telling me where to go & wifi password which I thought was strange. I had asked that no one go into my room during the day as I was there 2 nights for a competition. My costume was laid out on the bed. Someone had been in the room, opened curtains & removed bin bags etc just general cleaning.
It was close to the town and very reasonable
The bathroom wasn't very clean
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and very comfortable room. I'll recommend it. And if I return to Killkenny, I'll repeat again.
Owner very friendly and staff
The owner was extremely rude to us. He was completly trying to rip us off by putting us in a B&B room even though we had paid for a hotel room. When I approached him he totally over re-acted. In the end he gave us what we had paid for but our relaxing weekend was ruined. The kitchen staff were also very rude and there was a 'cold' 'depressing' atmosphere in the hotel.
No dinner served when I arrived. Had to do with a sandwich and chips. Shower was broken and was too hot to have one. Breakfast not served till 8am - may suit other people but I had a conference at 8am so I couldn't wait.
