How friendly the staff were and the location of the hotel

Nice friendly people, Excellent breakfast although could have done with being a bit hotter, rashers were cold but plenty of choice

Breakfast not hot enough, We thought it was in walking distance of town, While this was not a problem for us it would have been if taxis are not available

Good location, clean and comfortable, competitively priced

Hotel was struggling for customers and few staff were on hand

The hotel was spotless and the owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. There was no pressure to vacate early and there was ample cap parking facilities.

We had to get a taxi to and from the city centre. However, we were aware of this when we were booking.

Kilkenny House Hotel was a beautiful hotel with a friendly atmosphere. The owner and staff were extremely helpful and couldnt do enough for you. I will definately be returning!

Manager was polite and friendly bar in the evening was fine. taxi driver linked to the hotel was a good bloke

1 payment requested on arrival 2 reception didn't appear to be regular staffed during the stay which you would expect at most hotels these days 3 cooked breakfast was awful so I didn't go down on the 2nd day for breakfast 4 banging bedroom doors meant "one up all up scenario" 5 bedroom doors didn't lock automatically on closure which was a security risk 6 dogs barking in the morning 7 shower water was only luke warm 8 lack of staff . The boss seemed to be doing all the jobs in the place on his own 9 no lift Overall the impression given was corners were being cut and the service seemed to suffer as a result

Ted Dore and his wife were very wonderful. The hotel is really clean and we had a comfortable room and great breakfast. We were really happy with our stay here. The hotel is really clean and well maintained

rude owner, we got breakfast included in the room rate but they would not cater to us having to leave 15 min earlier than the time they normally serve breakfast.

You got what reviews said no heating

No bar menu as was advertised on site had to ring a delivery pay parking plot outside with a scrap car clamped with owners no. To declamp no heating on in all hotel and the brass of the manager takin complaints and telling people no way would look at it seen all screws in heating loosen so would not work as to other complaints on site cash king breakfast came from aldi lidl cheese in packets and i wont go on had a few of his dog eatin his own crap out the window of our room its faulty towers

The staff were friendly, the room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable.

the breakfast was lovely, the rooms were comfy

no elevator to our floor. Although the hotel was not busy, they put someone who arrived at 11 PM in the room next to ours and they were very loud. There were also barking dogs outside the room much of the night

The hotel had a relaxed friendly atmosphere, great facilities, including free parking, and the owner, Ted, was extremely helpful and informative. The room was quite large and the hotel was spotlessly clean. It is a family run hotel and whereas it may not provide 24 hour room service, it was excellent value for money and we would definitely recommend it.

The full breakfast services only seem to be available at weekends. During the week, breakfast extends to nothing more than fried eggs and cereal. There is no WiFi capability. The hotel is a bit of a trek from the city centre.

The owner meet us on arrival and when we were leaving. The room was very good.

only thing was it is really a bit far of for a walk to the downtown area...but since most people will stay in Kilkenny by car anyway, this is not a huge problem...
