We booked in for 3 nights.
First night was ok, although service in the restaurant was poor. As a result we dined out on the second night.
We booked a deluxe river/castle view room overlooking the terrace in front of the hotel, the site on the second for a very large and extremely loud wedding party. Whilst the music finished at 2:00 am, the guests continued on until 3:00 am. The other issue was that many of the guests stayed on our floor, banging doors and making drunken noise till morning.
To make matters worse, the phone to reception appeared to be turned off from when we tried it around midnight. There was no way to contact staff for assistance.
At 7:30 am the phone was working and I spoke to the manager, who told me my problem was that as I had booked a deluxe castle river view room, which we found out later, overlooked the hotel function area. A room at the back of the hotel would have been ok. All my fault for booking a premium room, it would seem.When asked if there was to be another function the following evening he told me there was to be another wedding with a finish time of 2:00 am.
When I advised that the phone system appeared to have been turned off, he said it must have been a fault with the system as the night staff would not have turned the system off to avoid complaints.
He may be right, however it was strange that it was working again at 7:30 am.
In any event we left the hotel, a first for us, and even though he refunded our last nights accommodation, it was no compensation for a sleepless night..
