Hotel Kilkenny  

Rooms were really nice, and overall hotel service was good. Very accomodating for late check out, and recption staff were friendly and very helpful. Nice bar and entertainment.

the only thing that really annoyed me was that it was a king room - BUT didn't have a king bed. Instead had 2 beds pushed together..... didn't really work for me as the beds were continually seperating which wasnt great.

The location for exploring the sights of Kilkenny was very convenient. It was a 10 minute walk to the centre.

The breakfast was amazing and a very nice touch for the manager to come round to see how we were getting on etc. The bed was very comfy and room very clean.

The pink chairs in the bedroom and also the cleaners did not come to clean our room until after 4pm at which time I was getting ready for the evening so turned them away - I think rooms should be cleaned in mornings.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Kilkenny our room was warm and clean and the staff were also friendly, also we feel that even eating in the bar and having a drink or two was very reasonable and not a rip off. the gym and pool were very nice too and relaxing. Thankyou

What are putting here are not horrible things but we felt that they could be maybe just looked at.Maybe a couple of more bath towels. the uht milk, we feel that just a little fridge in the room to put the water as it was warm and maybe as you know you are having guests in that room a little fresh milk. a little light above the mirror would be good for when doing the hair and makeup as I felt that the light on the side was not surfice.

Had stayed here previously, and i felt it has gone a bit shabby, especially the bar area. Also am sure I got food poisoning from the breakfast the following morning

The room decor was very nice & modern. Loved the pink & white antique style, different than the usual standard hotel colours. Staff were excellent - receptionists very nice & friendly, and a tall man who brought us dressing gowns to our room and replaced the bulb in our bedside lamp efficiently. Leisure centre was also nice. Decor of entire hotel was fab.

Didn't like that we had to buy a hat for the leisure centre when we were guests at the hotel - I understand this should be policy for Active Club members, but I think they should be loaned free of charge to guests staying at the hotel. Only a small complaint though!

Ordered bar food my wife had to send it back hers I got sandwich + chips they were over crispy. My advice to you is the hotel needs an upgrade and there is no reason why food should not be good these days.

Wifi in room advertised as patchy- no excuse for this nowadays Warned of potential half- hour waiting time for breakfast after 9.30- not a proper service. Staff at reception fairly brusque No safe in rooms

The staff couldn't of been more helpful friendly and polite , the food was really lovely and the gym and pool were great :) over all a great few days

Lack is storage in rooms, lack of plug sockets, had to keep asking for cutlery at dinner it's minor but it's the little attention to detail :)

I had to q for half an hour for breakfast. I won t be staying there ever again.

The hotel was very nice, and the staff were courteous.

The room service ended too early. Should be 24/7 , also they declined to put my tax reference number on the vat receipt. That is totally unacceptable for a hotel that Charges vat. Therefore without My Reference number on the invoice I am unable to reclaim the vat back, as a business expense.

Public areas were not very clean. There were a lot of cigarette butts outside the main lobby area and windows were dirty.

Liked the look of the hotel, the decor. The staff were very nice. The treatment as a guest was great. The welcome.

It was a bit of a let down that we had to leave the bar and resterante at nine as our granddaughter ie ten and could have stayed a while longer it meant we could not enjoy having a drink ourself to be honest we would not have booked your hotel if we had known about this

Based on a single visit the food in the Restaurant was ok. Unusual and perhaps unsuitable combinations of ingredients?

Staff were very friendly. Pool area was great.

Poorly trained staff - chemical spray used to clean the bar are whilst we were eating food right next to it. Ruined our first meal. We arrived early and waited 3 and a half hours to check in even though we requested special early check-in, no effort was made to put a rush on our room. Bed was poorly made on the first night and uncomfortable. Mattress was lumpy. The fried breakfast was not fresh, only the poached egg was (over)cooked fresh. Also the yorkshire pudding on the roast beef was rock hard, cold, and tasted like it was at the end of its use by date. Bar area smells of stale alcohol and the "clean" glasses behind the bar all had stale white streaks on them, and I had to ask for my first pint to be swapped as the glass was filthy. In fact, the ancient bar the the Scielp was much cleaner than the new one in Pure. There was broken glass and cigarette butts all over the patio area outside the room. This is not a 4 star hotel. It's barely 3 and although you have friendly staff, I would recommend people reside elsewhere for their stay in Kilkenny.

A lovely hotel just a short walk into the town centre. The staff really could not do enough for us, they were probably one of the best hotel staff we have ever experienced. They definitely went beyond what they needed to. The hotel is lovely and clean and modern. The rooms were lovely and big, think we stopped in a deluxe. The breakfast was also very nice. There was a spa but we didn't have time to use it. Highly recommend this hotel - we will definitely be going back!!

Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruits.

Check in staff was very accommodating help without bags( there were 16 bags) can't remember his name. Bar staff was great too, very friendly.

Room was dusty and the carpet was not cleaned completely
