Expensive typical large hotel was impersonal
Good location 10 minutes walk to town, breakfast good.
Rooms very small toilet door didn't close, very basic.
The attitude of the staff who made sure your stay would be most enjoyable. The food was excellent especially the breakfast . The shopping in Kilkenny was interesting with a variety of shops.
The break was over too soon.
Back high seating area of bar smelt bad. ?Carpet.
Hotel is easy to find plenty of parking close to town we got a deluxe room which was spacious and comfortable with a nice bath nice bar food and breakfast was really nice too.
The bar staff are atrocious to put it mildly while there was 3 bar staff on (probably should be 4) they seem to be poorly trained and not very observent ie: waiting for food menus and having to go the bar to order the food. Apples in the rooms are sick too.
This hotel was easy to access from a main road. Free wifi and enjoy suite bathroom where a plus as well
Everything about this hotel is excellent, the room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was very good as was the breakfast i the morning. Lots of car parking space also. Highly recommend this hotel.
staff where very helpfu land friendly also food was lovely and resturant manager was very intentive.
the beds where extremely hard
Bed were really comfortable.
We could hear very loud footsteps from the marble floors outside our room.
Cleanliness and bed
Smelt like paint/ was quite tacky and the staff were rude- such a nice place better off staying somewhere homely
room very hot so difficulty sleeping. location and free car parking was excellent. breakfast and the leisure centre were also very good, would stay again and would recommend
both chairs in room were broken and everything in the room had a pricelist
Wonderful break, would return here again if in Kilkenny, excellent friendly helpful staff and facilities. Loved the carpets, not the usual boring hotel carpets! Room was quiet even though there wasa wedding reception and partying.
No explanation for controlling shower temperature, I can usually work out how it works, but this only ran with cold water! No obvious indication for temperature. Had to get hotel staff to explain.
Reception, size of room, price of room, appointments, bar, bar menu, bar music, breakfast. In short: everything.
Location was good, Staff friendly
Rooms billed as having a queen bed are actually two singles shoved together Remodelling was done recently but it was just a paint job over poor fixtures hanging tea station in middle of wall is awkward and a hazard bar staff were unacceptably slow, tried to put white wine in a hot glass for a customer next to me.
10 - 15 min walk to castle and town center. Room was clean and comfy. Full breakfast Included. Wifi in room. Ample parking. Friendly and helpful staff.
Staff were friendly, place was clean
the food and great staff
didn't like the room..
very easy to find and parking was good. Breakfast organisation was VERY slick. Well done. Clearly some thought put into this. Kilkenny Tourist pack handed out at Reception was very helpful. Lady at Reception was kind.
Shouldn't there be a "traffic plan" for the car park i.e. separate pedestrian walkways to vehicular-traffic ? I had my 87-year old Mother with me and I [surprisingly] became acutely aware of this potential hazard. The bedroom keys dont have the number on them - one is expected to rememeber one's room number. Again, with my mum in tow, I know she would have been unable to find her room [and she doesnt have Alzheimers]. Restaurant Waiter in the evening was stand-offish. "Reception" is '2' in the Lift - I think some may find this confusing ?
The room was lovely and the hotel had a very pleasant ambience.
The breakfast was pretty ordinary.
Nice clean spacious room. Well appointed. Very comfortable.
We were at the end of a hallway, so sometimes the WIFI was a bit iffy, but other than that, it was a great place to stay.
the old furniture
On arrival we were greeted with a warm friendly welcome; the staff was very courteous, attentive and helpful at all times; there was plenty of choice and variety of food for breakfast and our room was spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed our short stay at Hotel Kilkenny and would repeat the experience.
Only stayed one night. The staff was quite helpful regarding directions and advice on attractions and restaurants. They were spot on. No problems with facilities. Did not need to call with any problems.
We booked a triple room and we all thought it worked out too expensive per person
First class leisure facilities
It seems that everyone had to slam their bedroom door on the corridor we were on in order to close the door properly. Including us. This created alot of noise in the AM and evening.
