I liked the location of the hotel. I liked its warm welcoming athmosphere with fires in the lobby and bar. The food was really good and reasonably priced. The complaint I would have is the noise. Not only from the crowds of drunks falling out of the bars down below but it was the air con or heater that made a very loud banging noise all night. We booked a deluxe twin room but i wouldnt say there was anything deluxe about it although it did supply everything u need except tea/ coffee facilities (can order them to your roon complimentry) |

It had a nice atmosphere and a character that most modern hotels lack. The receptionist that checked me in (from Czech Republic I believe) was highly efficient and was most pleasant to deal with. |

We got a good rate at the hotel and Kilkenny is literally on the doorstep, the bar is comfortable and all of the staff that we met seemed friendly. My room was uncomfortably warm and there was no tea/coffee in the room. |

Staff very nice 1. Had to pay for parking between 12pm - 6pm 2. Room was beside a very noisey vent which could be heard all night. 3. The recycle bins were below the room outside and every evening you could heard breaking glasses. 4. No tea/coffee in room. |

Complimentary tea/coffee brought to your room whenever you wanted. Very friendly and helpful staff. The noise of the boiler/air conditioning at the back however my roommate didn't hear it. I was offered a change of room which was good. |

The location was very good you couldn't get more central then this. Not to 4* standard, breakfast was reheated. It is perfect for literally a place to put your head down. If I had booked it for a holiday I would be disappointed it wasn't to my taste but taste is down to the individual |

The only redeeming feature about the hotel was the location It was probably the most over priced hotel I have ever stayed in. Food both at dinner time and breakfast was appalling. |

The central position of the hotel is excellent.Good value for money. The prices in the bar are competitive. The staff we encountered were very pleasant. Our room was noisy as it was over the street. We had to shut the window. The smoke from people smoking outside the bar area drifted up.The cooked breakfast was on a warm plate but the food was barely warm. I pointed this out to the waitress and the receptionest. Both were pleasant and would tell the chef. I' m not sure if that will make any difference. Very poor lighting in the bedroom for reading, also in the restaurant. This maybe ok for atmosphere. |

This hotel has not been modernised in recent years, and this is no bad thing. It really did have a genuine old world charm, without being cheesey. The bar area was beautiful, high ceilings, comfy leather seating, used by locals and visitors alike. The hotel is well positioned in the centre of town. No tea/coffee making in the room, but they will bring complimentary hot drinks to the room. Small point- they charged my credit card in sterling without asking, I would have prefered to pay in Euro's, I suppose I should have been more vigilent. |
