I was travelling alone and had arrived late. The manager asked me politely if I didn't mind taking a smaller room. I had booked a double but didn't mind as long as it was en suite. In return I received effusive thanks and a complimentary breakfast. I hadn't planned on having breakfast, but I was glad I did. This is no meagre, bare bones B&B breakfast: heaps of freshly made pastries, croissants and toast and a hot dish to boot. They kept offering me more and I had to decline! The manager came down to check on all the diners which I thought was an especially nice touch. The guest house if opposite UCC and is only 5-10 mins walk from the city centre. An unexpectedly charming guest house! Walls are a bit thin, and the single room was very small, but comfortable.

The staff was friendly, we were upgraded to a bigger room. Location is convenient if you have a car. Not sure of public transport links as we didn't use any. No mixers in bathroom sink, there was loud music and chatter up to 1pm which meant that sleeping was difficult. In the morning, could hear conversations of people in other rooms.

The staff are very friendly and it's a great distance (5 mins walk) to the city center. We went in April 2013 and room 22 was freezing. I asked for a heater and one didn't arrive which was disappointing. The tv was an old 14 inch with poor reception.

The welcome we got on check in was very friendly. We were in the house next door and on the ground floor. The sound proofing was poor particularly as the rooms had wooden floors so we could hear the occupants of the room above us quite clearly each morning. As they were early risers, it just mean we were woken early both mornings also. I suggest carpeting on the upper floors if the sound proofing cannot be addressed.

The staff was very nice, they were always asking if everything was ok. The room is very clean and comfortable, great bed, kettle and great shower. It is very well located, pretty close to a lovely park, ucc (University) and to the town centre (only 15min walk). So it was a quiet place to stay, perfect if you want to have a quiet night but still pretty close to the city centre if you want to party! Breakfast was also excellent with food very well presented and delicious! There is no wifi in the room, only in the common areas. That was the only bad thing of Killarney house. Apart from that, all great!

I liked everything about Killarney Guest House- The wonderful breakfasts,tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms, comfortable beds, very polite and helpful staff. The close proximity to town etc. I would definitely stay there again, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Catherine Lalsing. There wasn't anything to find fault with.

We've stayed in with Killarney Guest House several times and from the moment of friendly greeting to check out everything has always been fantastic. There has never been any problem with cleanliness, parking (small car park just behind the building), facilities or interactions with staff. The lady at the front dask in particular is always gracious and welcoming. The self catering apartments are fantastic and are a great way to save money, allowing you too cook and keep food without having to eat out too often. It is a pleasant walk to the city center, passing Fitzgerald Park, and even walking through this area quite late we have never experienced any bother. Over-all the Killarney Guesthouse provides fantastic service which has led to us returning time after time. Congratulations! The only complaints I have is that check out is rather early and the kitchen facilities in one of the apartments. Check out is around 11 and as this is standard I suppose I shouldn't really complain. The facilities in one of the self catering apartments has a microwave but no other way of cooking food, as the other apartments are fully kitted out with ovens and hobs I was very disappointed to see this. Other than that I would greatly recommend it to others.

Just ten minutes walk to the city centre Plenty of car parking space and it was free of charge The room was not too stuffy or uncomfortably warm Only annoyance was not the fault of the guest house- the guests staying non the floor above us trampled about like a herd of elephants very early Saturday morning.

the room was nice. the staff were friendly. the free parking was ideal. the guest house is situated in a great location. that bathroom was to small the toilet and sink were to close together i would suggest putting in smaller sinks as you would not have to sit up close against the sink, also the t.v had not been dusted and i could not turn off my radiator when the room was to warm.
